Money not safe

AI Highlights
  • - My money was not safe in the bank; $10,000 was withdrawn.
  • - It was inheritance money from my grandfather; the bank cannot help.

Overall, not happy at all my money was not safe in there and it shouldve been. It was exempt money from an inheritance from my grandfather.

I recently opened a bank account and $10,000 is taken out of my account without my knowledge and before it was even supposed to be taken out.

Theres nothing at the bank for me to make my phone save again or to get them back. They told me to contact somebody else.

Horrible business Practices

AI Highlights
  • - Charged us 90.00 to move a loan payment and were denied.
  • - Condescending staff who wouldn't assist; went to another CU for checking.

A Credit Union is designed to help the community. We had a job loss/health issue and went in to have them move a payment to the end of our loan they charged us 90.00 and then told us no.

In my opinion they are condescending to those in need and up to that point I was always on time..still am and they wont assist. They are a joke went to another CU for checking and dont recommend them at all to anyone in Grand Blanc MI

Pros:
  • Quick loans
Cons:
  • Did not work with us during a job loss

Preferred solution: An extension

User's recommendation: RUN!!!!

Poorly trained customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Customer service reps were ill-trained and worked from home.
  • - Auto-pay setup failed after attempts.
  • - Late fees and a lowered credit rating occurred.

This credit union's so-called customer service is nothing more than a bunch of ill-trained employees who work out of their homes. I tried 5 times with 3 different "customer service" reps to set up auto pay for a used car loan, which never happened, and cost me late fees and a lowered credit rating.

User's recommendation: Caveat emptor!

Worst Credit Union in Michigan

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - I closed personal and business accounts after ELGA withdrew funds.
  • - Negative $3 balance on a closed account.
  • - ELGA credit entry dropped my score.

I had a personal account, business account, and a personal loan with ELGA credit union. I closed my accounts when ELGA decided to take money from my Michigan corporation account to pay on my personal loan.

After a lot of back and forth, and my explaining to them how this was illegal, they finally credited my account back. Shortly thereafter I closed my accounts.

It has been months since I closed my accounts, and I have never received anything from them until a few days ago saying that my personal account was negative $3.00. I have no idea how that is even possible because for one, I closed my accounts, and two, I have not made any transactions on those closed accounts.

Then on September 9th while in the middle of getting a loan on my home, I get a notification that I have a negative entry on my credit report from ELGA.

I have no other negative marks on my credit reports, and this made my scores drop from the 700's to the high 500's. They have been no help at all, so I have filed complaints with the NCUA, Michigan DIFS, the CFPB, the BBB, the MI AG and the list goes on.

Loss:
$229
Cons:
  • Failure to follow tila
  • Stacking of transactions
  • Violations of the fcra
Reason of review:
Credit Reporting

Preferred solution: Deletion of the Trade-Line
