I used it when the collar was made by Bayer and didn't experience any issues. The one I used this time was made by Elanco.

After wearing the collar for only a couple days, my dog was lethargic, couldn't stand or walk. Those symptoms went away temporarily. The next day I noticed her eyes were puffy so I cut the collar off. That evening she was a bit better.

The puffiness was down. The next day once again she was wobbly on her legs.

She passed away that night.

This product needs to be pulled from the market.

My heart is broken.

Cons:
  • Using their product killed my australian shepherd

Preferred solution: Take it off the market!

User's recommendation: DON'T PURCHASE THIS FLEA COLLAR!

AI Highlights
  • - Alleges misrepresentation to distributors; claims of no cat adverse reactions in Elanco's report amid fatalities and long-term issues with Zorbium.

Falsely represents and does not disclose important information to distributors. In Elanco's report, they claimed that in their study there were no adverse reactions in several hundred cats.

A former FDA employee has publicly noted that reports of fatality and long-term health issues in cats given Zorbium significantly exceed normal standards.

There are hundreds of reports of fatalities and permanent negative side effects from this drug. Please submit a 1932a form with the FDA for any drugs this company manufactures if you've experienced adverse reactions.

Preferred solution: Discontinue distribution of Zorbium

User's recommendation: Please fill 1932a FDA form for complaints

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Promised a $15 rebate for Elanco heartworm, but I never received it.
  • - The rebate was lost, then resent, then emailed, but nothing worked and it expired.

I purchased an Elanco heartworm for my dogs. I was informed I would receive a $15 rebate.

I never received the rebate after 6 months had lapsed. When I called, they said it was lost. They said they would resend it. Again, I never received it.

I asked if I could receive it some other way since they were obviously not capable of sending it through the mail. They said they would send it via email. I tried numerous times to use it, and it never worked. Now when I call, they said it is expired and there is nothing they can do.

This company is a scam! They market their product by enticing the consumer with a rebate that the consumer will NEVER receive. I have wasted so much time with their reps who are no help.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REBATE. I will never use their heartworm again even if my vet recommends it.

Loss:
$15

User's recommendation: YOU WILL NEVER RECEIVE YOUR REBATE

Their drug, bexacat, killed my cat

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Diabetic cat on Rx food and glucose tests; bexacat released as insulin alternative.
  • - Within a week, the cat died; Elanco offered a small payment.

My otherwise healthy cat had diabetes. It was being managed with prescription food and monthly glucose testing.

when bexacat was released as an alternative to treating diabetes with insulin injections, I thought that was great, just what my cat needed. within a week of starting treatment, my cat fell deathly ill, I took her to my vet who wasn't equipped to treat her, so I rushed her to an emergency hospital. they weren't able to save her. Elanco offered to pay a mere pittance of her vet bill(testing and diagnostics) providing that I sign a release.

I would not, it seems that they are still "testing" this drug based on what they were willing to pay for. No amount of compensation could make up for the untimely death of my little angel.

At the least, they should have covered the entire vet bill. I will never buy any of their products again.

User's recommendation: stay away from bexacat

How do I get my long overdue rebate?

AI Highlights
  • - Bought Seresto on 10/8/21 for $75.95 with a $20 rebate.
  • - An Elanco AH Rebates rep said two emails would include the rebate, but none were received.

I purchased a large dog Seresto collar on 10/8/21 for $75.95. The only reason I purchased this was because it had a $20 rebate available.

I received the collar and made several attempts submitting information to receive my rebate. I spoke to an Elanco representative who handles AH Rebates. She told me that I should have received two emails which included the rebate check, but I assured her that I never received anything via email or postal mail. Just yesterday, she sent me an additional email but I checked my inbox and spam, and did not receive any email.

I am not sure what is going on, and would really like to receive my rebate at this point. Thanks!
