Almost got some satisfaction

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
A couple months after I gave a review the company contacted me via email and asked what the problem was. I explained that after I spent $3,000+ on storage food with a 25 year shelf life all of the product that I tested (Cooked) was rancid within 5 years. They followed up asking how they could make it up to me, I said, "How bout refund my money and I would return their productPersonally." They are in Utah and I'm in Colorado so I offered to drive it over to them. They said "OK, I be intouch." Haven't heard anything since. I have emailed them several times and no responce. If there is any class action suites going on, I'd like to become a part of them. lkk

I bought from efoods. They said garentee 25yrs. Shelf life. I made my purchase in 2013. We bought a cabin and while waiting on electric to be installed, thought it would be a great time to break open our food stores. Its now 2018. 5 yrs. This food is rancid. This food could potentially poison someone. Tried to contact them at costomer service and they are no where to be found.

I too thought after five years I would try my 25 year guaranteed shelf life efoods direct supply. Everything I’ve tasted is questionable to say the least. Spend $700 and will probably throw most of it away. The granola is especially bad. Okay horrible ! Called. Left message. No response.

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

After hurricane late last year my daughter and I decided to try out our emergency food that was purchased from efoods direct. The first one we tried was rancid, disgusting and inedible. My dog wouldn’t even eat it, and that’s no joke. I called eat foods direct and they recommended that I try another package, which I did. The result was the same and the food was in edible. Upon returning the unused portion of the second package to efoods direct for testingI I never heard back from them nor have I been able to contact them in anyway. I’ve made numerous phone calls and left numerous messages and gotten zero response.

Caution!! It won't last

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought about $1500 worth of food and about 36 months of the monthly "subscription," at $95 per month. Five years later we figured that we should start using it and 90% is uneatable. The granola is rancid to the point that it stinks up the whole house when you open a packet. We tried 2 or 3 kinds of soup and only one packet was good. One meal was actually pretty good, I don't remember what it was. The only reason I don't dump it is maybe a class action suite may get me a refund or at least some replaced. I have tried to contact the company via. email and USPS mail but have had no response.

Glad I tasted it before I NEEDED it!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
About 5-6 years ago I tasted a couple samples of EFoods product and it was good. I purchased a couple thousand $$ worth of their food. All of the kiddos are gone now so my wife and I decided to start eating it. The tortilla soup was OK but had an odd flavor to it. I just thought that that's the way Utahans made it. We ate it and it didn't make us sick or anything. BUT--all of the granola we opened was so rancid it smelled up the whole 1st floor of the house. All of the packages we opened that had any oil (I guess it was the oil) in it was rancid. I've opened about 8 or 9 packages and only 3 were eatable. I've emailed the company but no response. Like I said in my title, "Glad I tastedit before I NEEDED it!"

"Bait and Switch" and ZERO customer service skills

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They lead you on with bargains, and then pretend they "just ran out" I had ordered from eFoods before, many years ago, and had NO problems with the food or the company. 2-3 years ago I ordered a smoking deal on a 2-month supply, and had to constantly call them to get it shipped, taking nearly 3 months. I was told that their "entire order system had been 'wiped out' " and that's why they never shipped. On February 23rd, 2018, I ordered 72-hour kits in a "buy 2 get 1 free" deal. Nothing. Got a response from the customer "service" email, and the rep informed me that the product I ordered is discontinued. Yet, even today, it shows on the site as "In Stock" http://www.efoodsdirect.com/72-hour-kit/ NOW I read where most of my "emergency" food is at tremendous risk of being rancid? Everyone out there needs to know that they are risking the health and lives of their family by relying on this shady company.' I will be telling everyone everywhere what I and others on here have learned. I am contacting my State's Attorney General and local BBB (eFoods has not been addressed there).

Food left burning sensation in back of throat.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Tried to contact them and I am still on hold and it has been over an hour. I just left a message and hope they will call me back. My husband also could not eat this food. If I was starving I guess i could of gotten it down but the burning was almost intolerable. I have not tried any of the other foods I received from them. I bought over $400 worth of food so hopefully the rest of it is Ok. Guess I better not wait for a disaster and start eating some of it now to see if any of it burns my throat too.

Shells and Sauce Dinner was Rancid

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
In 2013 we ordered the free sample package and really liked the Brocolli Cheese soup and whatever else was in there. So we ordered a 3 Month supply of food. This evening we decided to try the Shells and Cheese sauce. With the first bite, it was very acidic and the first word in my head was "rancid." It tastes like sour milk x 1000. It's been over 2 hours since that bite and the taste is till in my mouth even after brushing my teeth. I think this stuff went bad before being dehydrated. This stuff is NASTY. The packages were intact. The powder sauce was still dry and vacuum sealed. So they must have packaged a huge lot of rancid product hoping nobody would find out for at least 25 years. I stumbled upon this site after deciding to see if anyone else has had this problem. I'll be calling e-Foods tomorrow for sure. This tastes so bad I think I might have it tested in a lab to see what the *** I just ate . . .

Oxygen absorbers

2008 packaging. Bought year supply for one person. Used only vegetable stew mix so far. I was sick after using some of the second can. I did not know about oxygen absorbers in the can, or see one.It may not have been in there, or was cooked up with the food. I just tried to call them (7pm Eastern time, 2-22-18), lots of waiting. I left a voice mail after 22 minutes, then sent an email. I have lost hope after reading these reviews. Thanks to everyone who sent one in. Blake from Rush, NY Sorry, cannot add words. All Granola I got was rancid. Like others I have got no resp

I purchased and received eight boxes or 6-months of the total variety that was offered by eFoodsDirect about five years ago. In July 2018 I opened some Granola; it was so rancid you could smell it all throughout the house. After inspection all Granola and other efood packages were bad as well. I contacted their office and was supposed to get replacements. Have received nothing after 6-months and their phones and voicemail are in- operative. No need to worry about buying/ordering from this defunct company. Be careful, other Utah companies are similar. After living in Utah for about 70-years I can attest to this.

"What made you think that granola would stay fresh for five years"

I guess their claim that of 25 year freshness.

Most of the food I opened that contained any oil was rancid.

After spending thousands of $$$ on this stuff I hoped that it would have lasted more than 5 years.

Glad I found it before I "needed" it.

Emailed them and no answer.

Terrible experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Terrible experience After a hurricane in September 2017 I decided to prepare some emergency food that I had purchased from Efoods for my family. The first meal was rancid and inedible. I called efoods and was advised to try preparing another meal. So I prepared another meal, and though it wasn’t as bad it was still inedible. I sent the remaining portion of the food back to efoods a few weeks ago for quality testing but have yet to hear back for efoods. I have called pretty much daily and have left repeated messages but I have not received one phone call back since sending the food back. Do not buy from efoods direct!!!

Previous problems with rancid food and the lack of response from Efoods. After posting here, a custom support person, Anthony, contacted me and made good in following up with replacing the packages that Quality Assurance found bad. Thanks Anthony.

Efoods won't acknowledge and resolve issue

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Found some packets putrid. Efoods customer service said to send to "Quality Assurance team for testing." Mailed receipt shows packets received by Efoods Sept. 2017. Now, (end of Nov. 2017). Efoods has NOT responded to multiple requests for status and/or replacement of only those putrid packets.
