Be sure you know that adults are best for this type of thing. You are taken risk with minors.

you should worry about a company that doesnt pay what they agreed to and that place children that are not ready to be away from home. Homestays are for adults not children that need mothering.

Get a signed lease or dont do it.

As you know tenants can always try to run out. Good Luck

sometimes winning is having peace of mind and getting people out of your space that are not prepared to function independently.. not everyone that is right will win, and not everyone that wins is right...

bottom line signed contracts for anything, leases for short term stays and get deposit upfront... just the fact that 3 years later they are sore..

you decide for yourself. Im going back to the lab.

and after 4 minutes in small claims, "Esperanza" or Hope Paulk's petition was dismissed and the judge asked her why she was wasting everyone's time.the court documents are available for viewing. Please remove this nonsense thank you

Educational Consortium Institute post false response to complaints

I entered into an agreement with Educational Consortium Institute, with PRM acting as the agent... .Educational Consortium Institute terminated the agreement without my consent and refused to honor the terms of the agreement.

I also passed on a job opportunity under the impression that I would be earning the benefits from this agreement.

I have repeatedly requested payment but was met with rude behavior and treatment and slanderous remarks posted up about me on several sites.

I was a part of the PRM HOMESTAY program that only provides breakfast and dinner.. guest are required to provide other things required per PRM HOMESTAY rules , despite this ECIs worker Janice became demanding and wanted the smorgasbord board when they ordered the ala carte.

ECI - Educational Consortium Institute failed to honor our agreement

ECI entered into an agreement with myself and PRM to have two students rent a room in my home from Sept until June 2010. Without proper notice or an agreement ECI removed the students without meeting the terms of the contract and violated the rules of tenancy termination of California. There was discussions about the concerns of the students and possibly removing them but ECI nor PRM had reached an agreement with me concerning terminating the agreement. On the last week the final student was in my home one of ECI employeess removed him from school without notifying me and I was looking for him as he didnt return from school, to later find out that he was taken after school to another home, but I was never notified that any student would be leaving. I have requested that they meet the agreement and pay as they have left me without students and vacancies. I followed all the rules that I was provided. ECI became upset when I did not have the time to take a student to the doctor for immunizations even though their own manual says that students must meet immunizaitns requirements before attending school. This was the job of the educational coordinator.

I would like for ECI to honor their agreement with myself and PRM and pay the sum due under both agreements, $11,900 which is due... reflecting the balance due on agreement from Sept to June 2010 for two students.

the court realized the kids were ....., and it would be hard to make them stay, so thats why its best to only have adults. And make them give big deposit, and sign their life away...

I was still cheated, but the crowded courts are tough. but I will get my money another way.. funny thing someone offered me money the very same day... wow..I was still cheated out of my money.

But I will make it else where. No Good Deed Goes undone. I will not work with these companies as there is a question of ethics here.

:p Sometimes its just the principal. They got me but hopefully they dont get you.

Barney statements are nothing more than rumor, hearsay and gossip, he has no foundation nor knowledge of any statements he has made here... interesting fantasy....

The students refused to clean their rooms , I showed them how to use the machine. The student did not clean bed linen even after instructed how to use machine, even with my assistance....

PRM is a Homestay and ECI received all the rules upon meeting with me and making and agreement. Their own lawyer Emily Buchbinder has been made aware of this and her boss Tom Griffin has totally agreed with me..

and asked her not to call me anymore per my request. As this is a matter for the courts.

Barney has never spoken to me, and I made all agreements with Janice not Barney and yes I have an agreement for payment.. he rather spend time writing this as a president of a company then paying me my fees, as I got stuck also with a $500 electric bill as the students wanted to run the computers 8 hours a day..all of the host families had the same complaint regarding student using internet excessively.

Guest

Hope Paulk's false and defamatory statements:

All the complaints posted on various websites about ECI come from the same person, Hope Paulk, (although she has used a variety of names to make it appear as there is more than one family with a complaint).

ECI has no contract with Mrs. Paulk. ECI contracted with a host family placement organization (PRM) to place two high school-age students. The agreement was to include a room and two meals per day. PRM placed the students with Mrs. Paulk. Mrs. Paulk required the boys to purchase their own toilet paper, milk, light bulbs, etc. Outside of the two meals per day, Mrs. Paulk would not permit the students to have anything other than water. She only let them do laundry once every ten days.

Mrs. Paulk notified ECI she wanted the first student out of her home by the end of September. She said the other student could stay until November. ECI agreed to move the students, according to her wishes. PRM paid for the first student’s rent through September, although he left on September 26. PRM paid for the second student’s rent through October. The second student was moved on October 31.

Mrs. Paulk terminated the students’ tenancy, but now wants to be paid for their room and board through June 2010. We have both her text messages and e-mails where she asks us to remove the students. Mrs. Paulk has no legal claim and her demands for payment, as she was the one who terminated their tenancy. Mrs. Paulk is free to rent her rooms out to anyone else at this time. Neither ECI nor PRM has any further monetary obligation to her
