Lifetime Warranty Honored - Excellent Promise!

Bought RAM from them in 2009. Called them up today since the RAM finally died after 5+ years of service in my gaming rig.
They said they needed to confirm that I made the purchase - apparently they get a lot of fraudsters who try to ask for warranty replacements but never actually bought from their company. Bit odd, but okay. I looked up the original email and gave their rep the invoice number and my email. They replied quickly and to the point, sending me a tracking number for the new RAM.
Other than that the process was painless - they didn't even need my old ones back. Excellent!

Purchased EDGE Tech Corp RAM Upgrade kit for Early 2008 MacBook Pro4,1 and since it was from a brick and mortar store from 2008 and not their online website, they do not honor their lifetime warranty. I REPEAT, THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY IF YOU PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCTS FROM ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THEIR ONLINE STOREFRONT.
IF YOU PURCHASED THIS RAM OR ANY OTHER ETC PRODUCTS FROM ANYWHERE ELSE, THINKING YOU HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY FROM DEFECTS, YOU ARE INCORRECT. This companies poor reputation is well deserved and all of the other negative reviews regarding them are not exaggerated. THE RAM FAILED 20 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE and edgetechcorp REFUSES to honor the defective RAM warranty. Period.
I'm glad we were able to squeeze that much time out of the product, but that's only trying to look on the bright side.
It is our advise to anyone looking for an inexpensive electronic component option that you exercise your better judgement and buy from a reputable, honorable company like macsales.com (OWC) or Corsair, which have REAL LIFETIME replacement warranties, not like this gaggle of clowns looking to dupe anyone looking for inexpensive RAM alternatives. Just know if you buy this RAM or any of their other products that you may get some use out of it, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEE they will honor the lifetime warranty like other companies if it fails...which it will...

Edge Tech Corp-rip off RAM refund
- - Ordered 4x1 GB RAM; mailed back 4x512 MB chips on 10-5-11 for $8.
- - Refund not received; 11-21-11 and 12-7-11 unanswered; 512 MB payments stopped.
I ordered four 1 GB RAM chips for my Dell pc from Edge Tech Corp in Sep 2011. I mailed four 512 MB RAM chips back to Edge Tech Corp's Recycle Dept 10-5-11 in accordance with their policy to get $2.00 per 512 MB RAM chip reimbursed (4 chips x $2.00 = $8.00).
After waiting over a month for the $8.00 refund check, I emailed Edge Tech Corp 11-21-11 asking about the $8.00 check. (No response from Edge Tech Corp).
I wrote Edge Tech Corp 12-7-11 again asking about the $8.00 check. (No response from Edge Tech Corp)
The $8.00 check is not a big deal, but if a business says it will pay for recycled RAM chips, then IT SHOULD PAY. (Edge Tech Corp has since stopped paying for 512 MB RAM chips according to their web page, but did pay for the 512 MB RAM chips when I mailed the chips to Edge Tech Corp 10-5-11).
Let the buyer beware.

It was slow in coming, three months since I mailed the RAM chips. I guess if Edge Tech Corp had responded to my email or letter, this whole thing wouldn't have happened. Once again, thanks and I am sorry that I complained too soon.
