AI Highlights
  • - I encountered a rude salesman during service.
  • - The cabin air filter quote was $61.22.
  • - The work order showed the engine breather filter.

I was looking at vehicles while I was having my truck’s 24mo/24K service done. I was going back inside when I encountered a salesman.

I told him my truck was being serviced, and he asked how I liked it. I shook my head 'no' and told him what I didn’t like about it. In a smart-ass tone, he said, 'Why’d you buy it?' I held my tongue and told him pickings were slim and I needed a truck. That was what initially pissed me off.

Then the service rep showed me the work order and said that the cabin air filter should be changed and it would cost $61.22. I told him that it was supposed to be part of the service. He said he would check, but I’m sure he already knew, since it was in the email they sent to me some weeks earlier. I looked at the work order when I got home, and it showed a picture of the engine breather filter.

Either they don’t know what they’re doing, or they’re trying to see if you’ll pay for something they’re supposed to cover.

I think the people they have now don’t realize they’re standing on the shoulders of giants. They certainly seem to have lost the professional edge of the past.

Pros:
  • Used to be a great dealership
Cons:
  • Not anymore

Preferred solution: I don`t expect anything.

User's recommendation: Best of luck

Radiator leaks

AI Highlights
  • - Took pickup to Eddy's Toyota for timing belt kit; belt and pump installed, other belts left.
  • - Radiator had white marks, then leaked; shop denies fault.

Took my pickup to Eddy`s Toyota in Wichita, KS. for new timing belt, water pump and a.c., pwr steering, & alt belts.

They used to call that a "timing belt kit". They installed timing belt and water pump,( I hope), but then just put the old belts back on everything else. So, we had a few words, and they agreed to install the other belts free of charge. Cool.

When I got my truck back, I noticed white marks on the top of the radiator that rubbed off with a little effort. A couple days after that, I noticed my radiator was leaking and surmised that the mechanic must have been leaning on it while replacing the belts. Contacted Eddy`s.

They said bring it in so we can look at it. They looked at it and said "We didn`t do it." So I guess I`m S.O.L.

Loss:
$600
