When I turned the page a horizontal white band with grey stripes appeared across the centre of the screen. I tried all the reset options, nothing works.
Customer service says because it was bought "through a third party" (Amazon), there is no manufacturer's warranty. Searching online, this appears to be a design fault that has been known for at least 4 years!

Tried repeatedly to reset Kindle for use, culminating in 40 minute phone call which resulted in UNresolved problem. Kindle did not recognize my current email despite the fact that I could complete a product purchase on the Amazon site.
Somehow, my account for Kindle reverted to my old email and CSR was unable to resolve it. No more Kindle's for me. And now you want to to add 100 words so this is further driving me nuts.
Amazon screwed this up, not me. Kindle worked fine for my last purchase, but now going into trash and I will look for ways to order somewhere else.

i ordered a pocketbook and one snap won't work. They wanted a picture of it which I can't send.
They have the order number and I have emailed back and forth several times. They said it it their policy not to credit unless it is towards one of their products. If you call they charge you and this is poor customer service. I just want my replacement.
I will never do business with them again. I am very dissatisfied. I thought the price was fair but I have never had so much problem getting cooperation from a company.
