Do not use Easy Choice (formerly Atlantis) healthcare!

I brought my son to the emergency room for a reason that was covered. Easy Choice never paid the claim and my case went to collections. For three months they lied to me and said my payment was being 'expedited', and every time I called back there was another excuse. In the end, I had to pay the full amount and wasn't reimbursed for nearly 8 months, yet they require your premium on time every month. Insurance companies are required to pay claims in 30 days, yet NY state is letting them get away with fraud. If I didn't spend hours complaining to every possible agency and calling every day I doubt they would have paid. Now I have to avoid using my insurance until I can sign up with a reputable company so I don't get stuck footing the bill.

They have no doctors in ny and cust svs never answers. No problem billing on time. A total scam.


I have an unreimbursed emergency care expense after over 6 months since the accident. It took 3 months and many, many calls before it was finally approved.

They told me I would receive a check in 30-45 days. It has now been 100+ days. They tell me that the Claims Dept is "backed up".

I can't speak to anyone in the Claims Dept, and they cannot give me any estimate as to when I will be paid!! Please advise on next actions I should take.

You have two choices: pay out of pocket and hope they reimburse you soon or let it go to collections, have your credit ruined and hope they pay soon.

I switched to a different company after NY State said that's the best advice they could give me. I can't believe they're still allowed to sell insurance.


Every single time a claim (annual check-up in doctors office) from a health care provider or blood work lab was submitted I had to call Easy Choice and tell them to pay the bill for services that were done months ago. My doctor will now not provide me any medical services as long as I am with Easy Choice. This is because they have not paid for a $165 basic service 15 months ago and a $570 service 9 months ago. Both my doctor's office and I have called Easy Choice many times and keep getting the same story "the claim has not been denied and will be paid" with no closure on when it will be paid.

I am now without a doctor and will probably be responsible for his bill after Easy Choice takes $700 a month automatically from my bank account.

Thank God I never had to submit a claim for any serious health condition. Do yourself a big favor, do not even think about using Easy Choice. I believe this is company is a fraud and I am about to notify the New York state department of insurance and the Attorney Generals Office.

I have already reported them to both, and the Department of Insurance just told me to get new insurance, there's nothing they can do. Unbelievable.

I have had the same exerience with Easy Choice. They have not paid bills that they acknowledge "are in process" and have not been denied or contested.

Since i have moved several times, I have not been receiving the bills from the hospital and have been placed in collection by several doctors, ambulance companies -- and one bill for 80,000.

The member services representive I spoke to, "Dawn T" actually lied to me and told me she had called the hospital -- the $80,000 bill one-- and got a thirty hold on the bill.

The provider said this was not true -- that the "Bianca" Dawn spoke to had refused to hold the debt any longer.

I am scr----. My credit report is going to plunge, just when i need to rent an apartment, buy a car, and perhaps a car.



aS i SAID, i AM SCR-----. I have no idea what to do.
