- - I traveled East Midlands to Norwich on 4 Apr 2025.
- - I, 83, stood with luggage; crowded seating caused cramp.
- - Compensation claimed; refund didn't help.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Emails
I travelled on the East Midlands train to Norwich on the 4th of April 2025. I am 83 years old.
I had to stand up from Stockport to Sheffield with suitcases and bags. I couldn't move. When I did get a seat at Sheffield, there were so many bags and suitcases I couldn't stretch my legs out. I ended up with cramp, which bothered me all the next day.
It really spoiled my weekend.
I have claimed compensation, but the refund doesn't help. It's not about the money; it was dangerous and very uncomfortable.

Verified ReviewerTrain Car is at least 33 degrees celsius
- - Train car B on London to Sheffield has no working air conditioning or heating, and passengers report extreme temperatures with no staff nearby.
Train car B (cant speak for the other cars) - London to Sheffield. Passengers are sweating and look like they're going to pass out if someone doesn't turn the air conditioning on or at least the heat off.
Passengers in another car said it was absolutely freezing. This is ridiculous and DANGEROUS and no one even around to speak to.
Does no one work here? I'm not sure if this is a mechanical issue, but its not safe and not ok to not even have anyone around to even help passengers is ridiculous.
