Eagle Taxi (Naples Florida) - attempting to extort money from customers
On 2-1-14, I was leaving the Waldorf Astoria in Naples Florida for Fort Myers airport. A friend and I requested a flat rate taxi to the airport.
We were told that the flat price was $75.00. I saw the website which said the flat rate price was $55.00 (the driver had made up his own flat rate pricing sheet). It now gets worse, we decide to take the cab for the 75 dollars and go to the airport, we give him the 75.00 and a 15.00 dollar tip and request separate receipts each for 45.00. The driver attempts to extort additional money from us saying that he would give us two receipts for $100.
I called the taxi company only to get the run around.
There were 800 business professionals staying at this hotel at this conference.
To attempt to extort additional money from paying customers is abominable!!! Needless to say, I contacted the hotel and will contact the agency who sponsored the conference.
