Verified Reviewer | Helena, MontanaSubstandard materials and workmanship, wont honor warranties
Nothing has come of making this complaint. They did bill us for repairs and cleaning that was NEVER done.
I have pictures for proof and an inspection by another certified dealer that contradicts their claims. They wont stand behind their warranties or their work and...
They put in a fridge that had an expired warranty a few months after purchase!! They wont replace it! The floor is not properly supported, the pump went out the first month, the water connection runs constantly when hooked up to city water, the siding tried to blow off going down the road. We had to put a screw in to hold it on.
The storage doors on the outside are not aligned or properly attached. The slider leaked causing mold that I am required to pay to have cleaned at Camping World. The finish on the wood began to peel in just a few months. The cushions were showing serious wear on the edges that touch bottom cushion; not properly attached.
The wood for the DR seat was too short and fell in when my husband sat on it! the edges fell off because they werent properly attached. The ladder to the bunks was not secured properly and fell off the first month of use. And more issues.
Yet, they refuse to make it all right.
We missed out on this summer because it was sitting waiting for repairs to be approved. They need to just refund my money and take it back so I can buy a decent one!
User's recommendation: DO NOT buy anything from COLEMAN.

Verified Reviewer | Los Angeles, CaliforniaSo many manufactured problems
In December of 2021 my husband and I purchased a new 2022 Dutchmen Astoria Travel Trailer. We had owned a trailer for many years and were so excited to finally purchase a new one.
We had looked a long time to find the right floor plan for us and this one fit.
We had planned several trips with this trailer and with three of them behind us we have had multiple problems.
1. Chairs barely attached to floor, rattled loose on first trip, had to be reattached correctly.
2. Door the Door would not lock and the screen would not latch- The door does not fit in opening correctly. My husband fixed it with a shim behind the latch but why was this not found during the inspection by the dealer?
3.
Overflow on the fresh water tank was also not hooked up.
4. Spare Tire This was a problem from the start
a. First trip the cable dropped leaving the tire swinging we figured this was just left not tightened so we tightened it back up and it was fine the rest of the trip
b. However, on out last trip last week it dropped two additional times on our way to Phoenix.
We stopped tightened it back up but the 2nd time it completely broke.
5. This last trip was unbelievable
a. the GFI plug stopped working making all the outlets controlled by it to not function. Since we were in Phoenix my husband bought a new plug and replaced it.
b.
Hot Water Heater When we purchased the trailer the salesman gave us a couple of the fuses and said these were common to fail. However, three of them failed on this one trip leaving us with no hot water for the rest of the weekend.
c. When we arrived home and were backing the trailer into its spot the passenger side back wheel locked up and wouldnt move. Apparently, the brake had frozen up and completely shattered.
You can tell it had been bad for quite a while.
We have contacted the service department of the dealer where we purchased the vehicle and they cannot get our trailer in to be worked on until August. The service manager is being very nice and trying to get the parts so my husband can fix it himself.
Because we have another trip scheduled across country in three weeks
I am completely in shock that we paid $50k+ for a trailer that we have owned for three months and we currently cannot use it.

Verified ReviewerExtremely poor craftsmanship and questionable "stand behind" product.
To date the dealer has still tried hard to get things done (even paying a mobile rv tech directly). I've heard from the factory twice.
Both times it was the day after I threatened legal action. The first contact was both email and phone, and they were to call dealer...
The dealer has worked very hard to repair what they could while we were there, and have been working with us since. We've been communicating with the dealer's Warranty staff, and they've been talking with Dutchment warranty folks (from my understanding). So far to date we've had 24 issues with the unit. Some sort of minor, some not so minor.
I could list them all, but major are the side panels coming out of J-channel both sides of rear of unit (guess Keystone told warranty folks at dealer that this is normal when you haul these rigs on long trips....NOT), roof has bubbles in it, a water leak from "someplace" under the kitchen sink (I've checked every drain pipe connection, and the water lines, can't find a thing). Doesn't seem to happen when we're running water or when we drain sinks....it'll just show up on the floor under the cabinet and around base of island. AC in living area doesn't get even cool air to middle of living area, light fixture over dining table fell during travel (left wires hanging from and holes in the slide ceiling). No screw anchors were used to hold the fixture up.
Now, again, the dealer is working with us even as we have to change locations. We have a Mobile RV Tech coming to take a look at things and hopefully repair what they can before we have to change locations again. Since I haven't been dealing directly with the factory, all I can attest to is (based on the comment about the J-channel) is, they don't care, they don't want to take responsibility. Wonder what will be said about the "bubbles" in the roof coating.
I've repaired wood trim that was falling off (have one piece the dealer reinstalled prior to our possession and they warned me, it was difficult to fix, but it fell off coming down the road. Bed fell off the wheels that help it roll across the floor when you bring it in/out....and SO much more.
At this point, I would never recommend a Dutchmen rig and in all honesty, question the integrity of the construction of this particular unit.
Have had several professionals say we should get a new rig. Definitely wouldn't be to keen on another Dutchmen.D
- Beautiful unit
- Craftsmanship and some cheap materials
- Poor finish carpentry work and very messy electrical
Preferred solution: Personally, with every issue we've had, and seems more pop up daily (and we're sitting still)....a replacement rig! Even if a different brand but at no additional cost to us.
User's recommendation: Don't buy a Dutchmen unless you have a week to go over every nail, screw, tack, plumbing connection, etc.
Will not take care of you after purchasing
User's recommendation: Do not buy Dutchman. Made in Indian
Very poor warranty
I purchased a 2021 voltage 3615 in Indiana this spring, after camping season I called to have warranty work done on my camper, all the authorized dealers refused to work on it because I didn't buy the unit from them. On November 14 I called Dutchman customer service and was told by Elizabelle that I could take it to the camper repair place, they xould send pictures and invoice to Dutchman and could get the work done, I would have to pay for it and Dutchman would reimburse for the repair.
It has been 2 months and today Tyler said I would have to take the trailer somewhere else. I have 16 phone calls in with Dutchman talking to Elizabelle, Torre, Abby, Tyler, Martin in these calls. I have been promised emails 6 times and phone calls 4 times and received nothing.
This is a new 80,000 trailer and Dutchman refuses to take care of their customer. This is the worst customer service I have seen with anything I have ever purchased serial number MZ990364
- No return phone calls and email as promised
- Promises they gave me no return phone calls
- No return emails which were promised

There's all kinds of things wrong with the thing bad design flaws Very limited warranty No quality control when being manufactured
If moldings falling off doors falling off converter went out refrigerator didn't work Under the mattress sweat I fixed that problem The manufacturer would not reimburse me for materials Awning braces structural support drilled out Kitchen sink late Air conditioners are so loud you can't hear yourself think Heat pads for the tanks weren't labeled Manufacturer didn't know which one worked what tank 23 serious problems when I set down on the bed there's a roller wheel underneath the storage compartment but stuck up through the chipboard sheeting *** design Worst investment I ever made Dealer does not want to warranty Mathematics sure doesn't want to warranty So when it comes to the dealer it's all about dipping in the consumer's pocket They're working hand-in-hand worst investment I ever made I'd have been better off to buy a damn tent Hallway door doesn't close the heel hits the inside of the studs
User's recommendation: *** no

Verified ReviewerCan't communicate with dealer after buying the unit.
There were some warranty issues with the unit and I've called numerous times to no avail. I've spoken to the manager and have been sent to a person named Jack who told me that I would be scheduled for the warranty work and would be called by a person named Jennifer, that was seven days ago I purchased the unit over two months ago and have never taken it out.
it appears that the sale is the most important part of the relationship, I submitted a review of your company and it wasn't good, I would never recommend Coleman Dutchmen to anyone purchasing a RV it has the worst workmanship I've ever experienced.
the dealer ship is the absolute worst. I don't expect to get a response from anyone about this, because it's obvious that if your company is operated like the dealership you're in trouble.
Over $46000.00 spent and never used, disappointing and very sad.
