WORST PLACE TO BUY

I used to work there and with that being said you would think that buying a vehicle wouldn't be a problem well I was wrong the hub bearings were bad and when I told them about it they told me nothing was wrong with the vehicle not only that they had plugged this machine that will erase the check engine light for a few days then cut back on, which it did. I suggest that if you are going to buy from there you take your own mechanic and do all the research before buying your vehicle. Try not to buy from there if you don't have to and if you do well do some research.

I’m sorry you were not happy with your experience. We try to make everyone’s experience at Durrett Motor Company a great one.

I can understand your concern because there was some additional wait time to get your refund because you did not have your receipt; however, this is necessary for us to research that we are giving the money back to the correct person.

It is to protect our customer, not to give you a hard time. We are in the business of pleasing our customers, and for some reason, as with all companies, we don’t always succeed, but our true passion is to make customers happy.

2005 Honda Accord Car Review from Houston, Texas

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I bought a 2005 Honda Accord from here & I can say I didn't have much problems with the vehicle itself. But I had a problem when trying to pay off the vehicle.

They added on extra fees to my final payment. They promised to report my car paid off as soon as I paid it off. It's been a couple months & it's still not showing. Actually they stopped reporting my on-time payments to the credit bureau for about 6 months now.

These people are full of it. I regret ever buying from Durrett. They have given me ***! Spoke with Maria Aguilar who is a rude and ignorant woman!

I'm so glad I paid off this vehicle & not giving them another cent. I had just got a repo. I was going through some hard times. I was a little emotional.

Otherwise, I would've never gone to this place. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE...they are rip offs!!!!!!

My review is Simple and plain. Maria Aguilar is disrespectful and unworthy of my attention.

She's so messy, buying from Durrett was the worst thing I could have ever done. The SUV had 99,000 miles and I had the truck 2 weeks.

Then realized that the CV joints also needed repairing. My option is to get rid of the vehicle asap!

INCOMPETENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased a 2008 Toyota Tundra with 73k miles on 4/22/15 and on 4/25/15 the truck needed an engine replacement. When I call Maria Aguilar and informed her she replied " that is not our problem, call the warranty company and did NOT offer a rental/loaner car during the 2 months while truck was in the shop.

On 6/15/15 I asked Maria to send me the plates to the truck, Maria and Paula Durret give "excuses" ( lies ) on how they sent the plates, but blame it on the " postal " office delaying the mail, which I received on 6/25/15. I recommend you NOT to buy from here, this is the treatment I received being a REPEATED customer, imagine you? If you encounter an issue file a complaint with the BBB of Houston ( consumer ) and file complaint with the Attorney General of Texas and file a small claims court if you have to retrieve any monies owed to you, because they will try to scam you out of your money. Also do not trust Maria Aguilar she will be your main person to deal with while buying the car.

She is a veteran for screwing people over, shrewd, grimy, shady character is her first impression. Take the car for an inspection regardless of what she tells you, or shows you the car fax. GET IT INSPECTED by another mechanic, NOT their mechanic. Also the sales man Charles Steward offered me a gas card as incentive but I never received the gas card till this day.

I recommend to take your business somewhere else unless you want to be screwed. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

Bent me over

Where should I start? All their cars look good in the pictures posted on the web but when you see them up close EVERY ONE has a situation....... Of course they will say that they are just about to get it fixed but need to find the parts of some BS like that.

Next if you want to make a deal their going to ask you for your down payment up front. I thought this was crazy and was told that "they won't work a deal in less they have money in the house but don't worry we are going to HELP YOU" and "we don't want to take your money, we want to sell you a car" it's just the way we work here" So I gave in. (that was a mistake) My deal wasn't accepted and it took me over a week of wasting time talking to every manager they had to try and get my money back. They kept telling me things like "just come up with $2500 more" Find some one to put the car in their name for you" Nothing but pressure then when I get pissed off they send in a new "boss" to start the same discussion all over again.

Then I was finally told "great news! we got you approved we just have to change you from the truck you wanted to a nice Honda" ....This Honda turned out to be a 10 year old beat up little Honda with 180,000 miles smoking and engine banging. One of the windows didn't even go down.

I finally had to offer to kick this Yankee Doodle Dandy Mike's (the sales manager) *** to get my money back.

Take some advice and don't waste your time with these pirates. Go somewhere else. There are plenty of places that really can help. For me all I had to do was drive a few blocks down the street to Fredy Kia and they put me in a nice truck with in an hour after filling out the paperwork.

Durrett Sold Me A Piece Of Junk!

I purchased a car from Durrett Motors on July 2009 and was assured their vehicles went through an inspection with AutoExam and where free of major damages and defects. I was first of all limited to about 3 cars on their lot because of my credit situation, I test drove all three of them and wasn't convinced and wanted to go home and think about it before I purchased there.

Then Maria Aguilar, their General Sales Manager stepped in and pretty much made me feel like I was worthless and would not get help anywhere else; so pretty much I needed to pick one of the three cars and buy from them. Feeling like no one else would help me, I ended up choosing a 2002 Nissan Altima for a total price of $15,189.16; including finance charges and my down payment of $2,000.00. I have been paying on my car for over a year now and I took it to get appraised, because I wanted to maybe trade it in and have found out it has been wrecked and there has been extensive body and frame repairs and it's only worth $2,000.00. The next day I paid to pull the Car Fax myself and it clearly states there the vehicle has been in a wreck that was reported on 04/18/2006.

Durrett Motors never disclosed to me my vehicle had been through a wreck. I am extremely upset and feel that Durrett Motors has been stealing my hard earned money. I quickly contacted Durrett Motors and spoke to Maria Aguilar and she first tells me that doesn't sound right and hungup on me right away. Then she calls me back a day later and says that I bought my vehicle As Is, I said yes As Is means that if any mechanical or electrical issues arise they are not responsible.

I also emailed Mr. and Mrs. Durrett and have not heard anything since. I contacted the BBB and are in the process of obtaining an Attorney.

Durrett Motors has committed Fraud by not disclosing the Pre Existing condition on the vehicle I bought from them. If I would have known the vehicle had been through a wreck, I would have never purchased it and would have gone elsewhere. It's unfortunate that because of our credit situation we are belittled and placed into a trap. Not only did Durrett Motors sell me a piece of ***, they are wanting me to pay almost Ten Times what the car is really worth.

I do not recoomend Durrett Motors to anyone out there.

There are so many dealerships with higher quality cars that are willing to work with individuals with not so good credit.

Durrett Motors is absolutely a sleazy operation , they took full advantage of a young girl claiming she need to pay insurance deductible on minor body damage , she gave them every dime she had and paid almost $ 1000 dollars only to be told the car was totaled . complete BS and lies .

dealership would not provide insurance statement claiming the car was a complete loss or any other info to substantiate loss claim.

these *** are why we need lawyers and that's why I have one . here we come Durrett motors we don't play by your rules and bend over

Althought I do not work there anymore, and I was fired, I assure you that mr durrett does not buy his vehicles from the houston auto auction. that is where he sends the junk that is traded in that cannot be fixed and sold.

which is most evrything they take on trade. Craig buys most of his vehicles through the Manheim corporation, which is a nation wide auction that EVERY dealer buys their vehicles from. Although you will pay top dollar for Durrett Motor Companys vehicles, I assure you, its because you've robbed every single other person who has ever loaned you money, and put yourself in such a prediciment that you need to beg for an auto loan. Its still stealing idiots, even if its not paying comcast, or a medical bill.

and that will srew you're credit. and lead you to need something, anything..thats WHY you goto Durrett in the first place. remember how you were helped. every used car breaks down and has flaws.

FIX IT. if your house needs a new roof 2 months fter you move in are you gonna *** to bank of america?

no. your gonna fix it

EVERYONE at this company are LIARS && CHEATS! they all work together in their SCAMMING LIES and DECEPTION. BUYER BEWARE....

Osbin your FOS! go back to school and learn how to SPELL!!!

There is nothing wrong with making $$$, but not while cheating and Lying!!! that's called extortion!

Sorry you had such a horrible deal with Durrett. I've had nothing but good luck with them and have actually bought five vehicles from them.

Craig & Paula have been wonderful to deal with. Maria has even helped with both my sons and thier financial issues.

I can't believe you had such a horrible deal with them. :sigh

Durrett buys all his vehicles at the Houston Auto Auction on the gulf frwy and Hobby auction. Houston auto auction is open to the public and has auctions every wednesday. Save yourself thousands and buy a car there and then if u need to do some minor repairs it wont be a big deal..

Sleazy Used Car Salesmen Durret Motor Company

I visited Durrett Motor Company on Friday, May 14, around 6:00 p.m. I spoke with a salesman and told him I did not want to spend more than 8,000 for a vehicle. He checked and got a list of what they could help me with.

I chose the car (keep in mind the door label, and their on-hold message says they do deals with a handshake) and the deal was started. I did not have the insurance check in hand, yet, but was expecting it soon, and I told them so. I proved to them that the insurance check was on its way by showing them what I had from the insurance company.

Because I did not have 500.00 to "hold" the car, it was still on the lot. I understood that. Then I called on Tuesday, once I found that the check had been received, and I called the dealership. They told me someone was negotiating on the car. I was disappointed but knew that I had not put a deposit down. This salesman told me that I could have written a 500.00 check and they would have sat on the check until I came in with the insurance check. Strike 1... they did not communicate that with my original salesman who was new at the company. Then they called me later and said that the buyer was not able to find a co-signer, the car would be mine. I promised that my husband would bring the check to them first thing Wednesday morning while I was at work, which he did. I called the dealership and was once again assured that the car would now be held for me to purchase for the $8.000.00 drive-out that was originally contracted, written on paper, and given me as the cost I would have to pay.

So, I get to Durrett Motor Company at 6:00 on May 19. My salesman took me into his office and told me that the car was sold although I could see it right outside the building. He said the buyer did not have the full down payment. So he went to get me my insurance check back. Then this man, Mike, came to me and told me that I could have the car if I paid more money. I told him that was not the agreement. He then said he'd call the owner, Mr. Durrett, and he came back after 2 - 3 minutes and told me that I could drive out with the car for $8,000.00 PLUS tax, which again was not the offer that was written down and signed for on Friday.

Summarizing: I was given a price of $8000.00 drive-out for the car, then the car was sold, then it was not, then it was sold again, and then it was not. Then when I come to pick up the car and drive away, the dealership tried to make me pay more for the car after seeing my insurance check was more than the $8,000.00 that was originally written, promised and signed for.

Who's a liberal looney?

I had a signed agreement, and they did not carry through on their end.

I vote my mind, not liberal at all. I did not feel an entitlement to anything more than was contracted.

You are an ***.

Get away from things you cannot wrap your puny little mind around.

And, by the way, and for the record, I am actually a genius as far as the IQ tests I've taken and my perfect Graduate School GPA in advanced Psychology can attest to.

Idjit!

Wow, you are so intelligent, charming, and considerate.

YOU must be one of those liberal looney toons who believes that it is your business to berate others as they need a little bit of understanding.

John Q. Public, what the HE** is this site for unless I'm to report unprofessional and poor customer service.

You, Mr. Public, are welcome to leave MY country and go to someplace where you have no right to complain!!
