Duct Doctors of North Texas

I contacted Duct Doctors about repairing and/or replacing defective ducts in my attic, blowing in additional insulation, and cutting a new attic access door. Ray Reynolds came to the house and looked over the project. He displayed very good knowledge, gave good advice, dissuaded me from spending money on an ill-advised idea, and gave a fair quote for the work requested.

Then I discovered a few bad reviews about Duct Doctors that clashed heavily with my first impression of Ray. I contacted Ray with the intent of cancelling the work, but after talking with him and hearing his explanation of events I decided to move forward with his company.

His carpenter showed up on the day and hour stated, cut the new access panel correctly, and installed a very good, high quality ladder. Ray arrived the next day and replaced all the ductwork. The next day Ray and another fellow showed up and blew insulation into the attic, and upon inspection everything appeared to be completed with good quality in the time estimated and for the price quoted.

I have no complaints about the work, and my experience was positive.

I would recommend Duct Doctors to my friends and family.

Ray Reynolds, Duct Doctors of North Texas, has to be the most unprofessional and unethical vendor I have EVER encountered. He is a liar and a cheat.

We paid him approximately $5,000 to do a couple of different jobs for us. He did a complete attic cleaning which included taking out the old insultation and replacing it with new. He failed to blow insultation in a section of the attic or the proper amount. Additionally, we paid him to tear out and install new air returns and put new tubing in.

He failed to seal the return air vents, he installed return air vents that were too small, and he used to small of air tubing in the areas where the air has to travel the largest distance (back bedrooms). You might ask how we know this. Well we had a new AC unit installed and they were the ones to point out the issues. Now I have to pay another vendor to fix Ray's mistakes.

I'm not using the AC guys. They don't have time in the busy season so you know that weren't scamming me. I reached out to Ray 7 different times and each time he was going to come back out and fix it. He never has.

At first I actually believed he would show up and took off work on a couple of different occasions. I have called him on multiple occasions using different phone lines. That seems to be the only way to get him to answer the phone. Once he has your number he doesn't answer his calls.

Stay clear of this guy and his business. His website has lots of letters from satisfied customers.

Not sure who these individuals are but I don't believe these are real letters after my horrible experience. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!

Actually this isnt a complaint. I came across this site wanting to write a good review for Duct Doctors of North Texas.

I was recommended this company, by friends and those friends have friends that totally agreed with awesome service this company. So like everyone else, i did my research and personally went to my friends house to see the work that Mr. Reynolds and his employees have done. Seeing all this, I had scheduled my appointment.

I figured these people might be late, you know like the cable guy that takes all day to get to your house? These people where earlier, big plus for me. Not going into details of the work they have done, but i can tell you it was worth every bit of the $1200. worth of work i had these people do.

I would recommend them to anyone. Excellent work!

The President of Duct Doctors, Mr. Ray Reynolds, was in charge of completing a full set of duct services including cleaning after water damage.

One set of services was completed, including cleaning of the AC ductwork/system in the crawl space. For the completed work, Mr. Reynolds was payed by check for $803.90 on March 31, 2014. The following day (April 1, 2014), Mr.

Reynolds returned to finish the cleaning, replace register covers, and determine supplies needed for remaining repairs/replacements. He stated he needed a check for the remainder of the estimated services/supplies, for $850, which I gave him. He then spent the morning replacing the register covers (some of which he put on upside-down, making them unusable) and under the house taking pictures. He then stated that he could not complete the work because the pier and beam foundation repairs prevented him from reaching all of the ductwork.

He said he would collaborate with the AC repairman, to reverse the flow from a downflow to an upflow, putting all of the ductwork in the attic, and also tell the insurance company why this was necessary. He left, and when I realized later that day that he had not returned my check, he had already cashed it! He said he would return the cash to me and also contact the AC repairman to complete a new estimate and the work. Neither I nor the AC repairman were able to reach Mr.

Reynolds until he answered my call at 8:40am June 4, when he stated that he would send me a check for $850. He said he had been bitten by a brown recluse, had been ill and apologized for not calling. Mr. Ludlum subsequently completed the work himself, waiting for repayment by Mr.

Reynolds. I emailed Mr. Reynolds on August 14, 16, & 20, with no response. I have tried calling repeatedly this entire time, but he refuses to answer or return messages.

My daughter called him asking whether this could be resolved, and he lied, telling her that *he* had completed all the work!!

Mr. Reynolds has apparently forgotten that he gave me photos of his incomplete work.

After reviewing the EPA.gov website on tips on finding the right duct cleaning company I went online and called several companies. I was quoted from $1500-$2000 over the phone!

But for a more accurate estimate they would charge me $99 and the other $250. I came across Duct Doctors and was skeptic due to the negative reviews. However, after researching more, I realized they were the right company. I called Ray and mentioned my concerns about "not being on time" and "destroying property".

I felt he answered sincerely and gave him a chance. So pleased I did. They were right on time, 15 minutes earlier for the Free estimate and 30 minutes earlier for the service! Wow!

Plus they were extremely courteous, professional and friendly.

I felt they answered all my questions and concerns on site and the job was done thoroughly (my home took 5 hours!). Duct Doctors of North Texas- Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!

The term Wrecking Crew comes to mind. Simply put, Ray Reynolds and his company Duct Doctors of North Texas are a danger to any homeowner's property.

They failed to reassemble dryer vent after cleaning it, causing dryer exhaust/lint to spew all over the attic causing major fire hazard. They cut a duct open to access the air handler plenum and did not tape it all the way back up allowing major loss of cold air into the attic. Trash was left in the insulation, removed ducting in another area ?? and never put it back and allowed the air in my home to be contaminated by attic air for several weeks on end and that's just what I know about.

Experienced respiratory problems while at home ever since. Never returned a phone call, many broken promises. Horrible, horrible, just horrible.

It's like he has disdain for the customers he can get a check from and never looks back. Approximately $1500 spent in repairs since their "service call".

When I first called they were able to set up an appointment for later in the week. That day came and no Duct Doctors.

I called and he said they were busy. He fed me a load of *** about his trucks breaking down. He told me he would have to reschedule for the beginning of the following week. That day came and no Duct Doctors.

This is when I proceeded to check the reviews(here). Stupidly I didnt do this before. I called back after not seeing/hearing from Duct Dr for the second time. He started to say the same old thing of "I won't be able to come today, hows tomorrow?" It has been 2 months now and I still have yet to hear/see them.

DO NOT CALL, EMAIL, or even CONTACT these people. You will never see them..don't believe me..read the other reviews!!!

I recommend Blackmon-Mooring Company. I called them and they were out the next day..right on time..8am SHARP!!!

The Duct Doctor advertised a coupon for $25.95 to clean my air ducts in my house. Before I knew it it was up to almost $600 due to 'mold'.

Not only was I taken on that I made the mistake of paying up front. They then missed 3 appts with no call. To receive a one hour service it took from 4/11/11 to 5/9/11. No offer to reimburse and did not respond to my calls or emails requesting a refund of some sort.

Do not use this company. I personally have no idea how this company can possibly stay in business.

I had Duct Doctors in The Colony, Texas come to my house in January, 2010. They promised a substantial savings in my electric bill by adding insulation and also recommended duct cleaning.

I had both done. Their incompetence has caused About $20,000.00 in damage to my house and heating/a/c systems. They blew insulation into my return air system that feed the air handlers on my heat pumps. They left some ducts disconnected which caused additional insulation to get into the system as well.

I called them several times to come remedy the problems and it took threats to get them to come and resolve the issues. The last time I called them was because the insulation had gotten into the condensate drainage system of the heat pumps, causing them to plug up. This in turn caused the water to back up and my ceiling got wet and fell in. My mattress and box spring was ruined as well as a ceiling fan, smoke detector and about 75% of the ceiling in that bedroom.

The a/c coils were plugged with insulation which caused conditions that those systems were not designed to run in. My compressor on one unit locked up and the performance of the other unit has degraded. I am now replacing both of my heating and a/c systems because of this. When my bedroom flooded, I called Duct Doctor and let them know of the problems I was having only to be told that they had already cleaned all the insulation out and could not come to my house until the following day.

The following day came and they never showed up or had the courtesy to call.

All hass been turned over to my insurance company and I will let them handle all of this. DO NOT let these people near your home!!!!.

Not only would I never let these people do work for me,I would never let them in my house! I called for a quote, the old man showed up on time, went up my attic stairs and took his FIRST step and went through the ceiling.

There was no insulation and the drywall was clearly visible. He never mentioned it. When I asked what he was going to do, he said his crew would be out that afternoon to fix the ceiling.

Never hear from them again. I have called a few time to no avail.

A real rip off company.

Duct Doctors came out to my house today to repair the ceiling damage that occurred during an estimate. They were on time to the minute, and did professional work. I am pleased to say I am very satisfied.

Since having our duct system cleaned by Duct Doctors air duct cleaning, we have noticed a marked improvment in the air quality in our home. although our asthmatic son continues to be bothered by pollen and mold outdoors, he is at last able to enjoy a good nights sleep.

the employees of this firm were professional, knowledgeable and helpful and we will continue to avail ourselves of their expertise in the future.

I will continue recommend Duct Doctors in the future to anyone with any dust, mold, allergies. Duct Doctors is truly one of the great family run businesses that you can trust.

DD came out to clean the air ducts. After cleaning, there was a musty smell that filled the house. DD said it was the attic beams causing the smell and they could treat it.

They never came back to treat the attic. Had another air duct service confirm that the steam clean of vents was done incorrectly. I was able to contact DD on three different occassions. Thy would always say would be out next day but would never show up. This conversation took place three times.

The guy could care less. Terrible experience. I do not reccomend them
