I have had fish and chips at many restaurants and I have to say that the Dry Dock on Longboat Key has consistently excellent food and their prices are reasonable. The fried portion is not too thick and they use a good portion of fish.
I usually have too much to finish and end up sharing it or taking some home. The view from their dining room is incredible looking across Sarasota bay to the Sarasota skyline and the Ringling Bridge.
The restaurant is decked out in a nautical theme with old fashioned boats hanging from the ceiling. They don't take reservations but they do take your name for a priority list so be sure to call them and do that.
