Don't Trust Driver Whiz

I just build my PC and it was working great with a best window experience index 5.9. Then I bought a week latter I bought Joysticks game controller.

then I wanted to buy driver just for the game controller I bought the driver from Driver Whiz and paid 29.00$ . During the process of instalation they asked me to access my computer and I allowed them . Instead of activating my purchase they corrupted my pc and they toled me to buy another service from them With more than 359.00 $ .I declined the offer and after that an error pops up every time I used my computer so they purposely harm my system so that I can buy another product from them which is very bad for a. business .

I had to reboot my pc. Even after that the problem didn't go away when I try to uninstall it I couldn't . It took me the whole day to fix my pc .so this made me very very mad I was wondering what other people are saying about Driver Whiz. So I found a lot of people who had bad experience with the Dreicer whiz.

I didn't call for refund which I will and figure out what they say.

But In general driver whiz people Re very very very very bad . If you are new and got a chance to read this coment you better try to avoid them at any cost

I was trying to install my mp495 printer, had trouble with the drivers so rang these clowns to assist, paid the initial 29pound then they ask for another 89 !to sort out the problem.l explained l could not afford that so they gave me a number to ring 1.815 ****, of which is unobtainable. So who refunds the my money whilst they had access to my pc ? How can these people get away with ripping off the public. l am not a computer wizard, but l really fell for this scam. Do not be fooled. Following my review above, I contacted Driver Whiz requesting a refund , of which was a long drawn out e-mail to my request. Prior to receiving this, l had taken out a case with Paypal to dispute the transaction .

Success ! Payment now refunded to my account.

BEWARE: AVOID AT THEM ALL COSTS

I was looking for a web site which would install the driver I was missing on my lap top to link to my mobile phone.I had been trying for a while to resolve this problem & Driver Whiz seemed like the obvious solution as it claimed to be free of charge. So I down loaded what I thought was the driver, only to find that I had to pay a fee of £30 & ring a free phone number in order to subscribe. So already being frustrated with my situation I paid the money & rang the free phone number. Well, within about 5 minutes of a conversation with an Indian call centre it was obvious that they did not want to give me the driver without fixing my "so called" serious problems within my lap top first for a sum of £270.00. When I confronted them with the fact the I had already paid £30 & that they should deduct that from the £270 they continued to talk to me as though I didnt even exist, ignoring my plee completely. After a completely exhausting conversation with a very ignorant "so called" professional Microsoft engineer I eventually asked this particular person of Indian persuasion if he understood what I had said, he then put the phone down on me. By that time it was too late as once this whole waste of time phone call had come to an end my computer was well & truely ****ed. I made a serious mistake of allowing these cowboys access to my laptop & paid the consequences as they had successfully managed to stop my McAfee antivirus from running along with my internet explorer, which go hand in hand. Basically they had put my lap top to a stand still & by frightening me into thinking that I would have to contact them again to rectify the virus they installed but my boyfriend knocked me into my senses. My impatience & frustration brought me into contact with this VERY DANGEROUS so called Microsoft customer service company & if I didn't have the knowledge & support of my boyfriend my lap top would be useless & sitting in the cupboard. Please DO NOT make the same mistake as I did & AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS

Driver Whiz:My experience

I paid for(Paypal instant)and DL'd this software because I was having terrible problems with a vid card driver, the ad said DWhiz could help.Let it do a scan for outdated drivers(2nd mistake)and it came back with some updates for me.Of course my vid card driver was not on the "Need to update"list even though I knew my installed driver was outdated.

My sound driver was listed so I thought I would try out "Driver Whiz" and let it remove and install the new driver that it provided.Needless to say, upon completion my sound did not work.Manually removed the "Driver Whiz" provided driver and re-installed old sound driver and voila, sound.

Contacted customer support and tried asking them if they could help with my ATI video card driver problems and all they did was continuously point me to an article on how to update my VIA chipset. What a bunch of freekin monkeys, pound on the keyboard, throw a little ***,ahhh.good day!The VIA chipset article wasn't even hosted by the "Driver Whiz" folks.

So went through a couple more trials and had the same effects(lan chip drivers, mobo chip drivers...) and "Driver Whiz" did everything in its power to break my system!Contacted PP and opened a dispute, respectfully asking the "Driver Whiz" folks for my money back, all with no response. It turns out that PP will not protect you if the purchase is for downloaded software, or for the lack of a product to perform as expected if it is a "virtual" product.

So I'm hosed by "Driver Whiz" and PayPal.But please be warned, "Driver Whiz" is a garbage product. All it did was cost me money and headache.

My blue tooth problem still not solved. Sigh...

Guest

I was lucky not conned by this online monkeys. I was prompted to download driverwhiz when i could not bluethooth my file from the mobile.

At first i was told a very good discount that cost only $24 but after i click paypal for payment, amount soared to like $65. I knew something was not right and stop giving my access to paypal account. And i googled and found this site that forewarns me to sign up with them.

Thanks for the information here. Sigh...many would have conned into paying for this useless scam.

Guest

I ended up stupidly allowing them to clean my computer so of course that meant they took it over but first I paid by credit card. My credit card company automatically cancelled my card as they had so many complaints about the company.

I now have to get a new card and I can't get into my online banking so have to go to the bank about that, and my computer is worse now than it was before..Oh yes the charge was $50.

more than quoted. Thank goodness my credit card company was smarter than me.

Guest

Just another fly by night company, that is taking as much money from people as they can for a worthless product before getting shut down. Then it is off to their next scam.

Guest

I too downloaded Driver Whiz, paid via PP then recieved a message to phone and register. They then, instaed of updating my drivers, told me I had over 7000 threats and wanted £85.00 to clear them before my drivers could be updated.

I refused. When I went to my paypal account, not only had they taken the original £35.00, but had set up a reccuring payment indefinately.

Paypal cancelled that but it has cost me £35.00 for nothing.Beware of this scam. :(

Guest

Please do not down load this product, Big problems within a few minutes of down loading. Nothing appears to do any thing that it says it does.

Blue screen within minutes of down loading,3 weeks later and many emails, problem was not fixed and many requests for a refund have not produced any result. You need to be an expert in computers to do the requested fixes.

The first thing you learn is never work in your registery if you do not have any experience in this area,so by asking me to work in the reg.it is not acceptable This company needs to be investigated for unlawfully obtaining money. alicemansam

Registration fee wasted, unable to use any service

I registered with driver whiz to update drivers on my windows pc. paid $29. when i tried to activate, tech support told me there were errors on computer preventing downloads. for an additional $110 they could fix, clean up, etc. I just reloaded my operating system a day ago and have not chosen a security program yet, and didn't feel ready to commit to these guys. I asked them if I did clean up work, etc myself or through others, would I still be able to use the basic driver whiz service i've already paid for. Tech told me "no". Seems like misleading advertising. Tech was not helpful in providing refund information.

I've just gone through exactly the same experience as above, After downloading and installing Driver Whiz I was asked to phone a number to Activate it which I did, only to be told the software was useless and my real problem was in the "BRAIN" where an error was causing critical errors. Well the only problem I had was that I wanted to uninstall and reinstall my windows 10 bluetooth with latest drivers.

Up to then the computer was running fine. I was advised that the CSRSS.exe was a serious virus, turns out that's total BS. CSRSS.EXE is a perfectly legitimate windows file that "CAN BE" corrupted and used as a trojan. As a person who's been working with computers most of my life, I feel like a total *** now for not doing the research.

Now need to make sure I can unwind any damage or potential damage they could do.

He steered me into allowing an online tech support session and I'm sure installing the software did the damage. Don't touch Driver Whiz - whatever you do.

Scam to buy additional services by help desk.

Wanted $100 to activate and clear errors. Don't get caught up in the scam. Very hard sell on help desk line. Help desk to command of my PC and did not activate DriverWhiz but they tried very hard to sell additional service for a fee which they would not specify until I pushed them. They would not disconnect from my PC so I had to turn off and reboot. The world is bad enough without a customer being sent to a site to intentionally try to scam the customer. At this point I would not recommend Driver Whiz to any one.

Bad, Bad,Bad

The software looked like an answer to my prayers. After attempting to use it many normally considered prayer words came into use, although not in the normally accepted way. Words like god, dammed, Jesus and non prayer words such as *** piece of *** software. After purchasing this program and getting my "secret code" for launching it I could not even find the start button. They also refused to even respond to my e-mails. Don't waste your time or especially your money. This software also made my printer drivers worse. This software made my printer drivers worse. Funny ha, ha? Funny blagh !!!!!

DriverWhiz free download won't uninstall & keeps trying to run

This seems to be a Norton Antivirus sanctioned program, because it keeps trying to install the Norton before it will run. Fortunately my Avira program keeps blocking it and I hope it won't do any damage as it has to others who've blogged here. I did the free download because I was having such a time getting my Brother printer software to download and DriverWhiz was listed among the top 3 sites for expediting downloads. Now it will not remove/uninstall from my Control Panel no matter what I do. Now, reading these consumer comments, I wish I had done the research before downloading. But you just figure that a ripoff site with dangerous software wouldn't be allowed a top-listing by Google, Bing, or popular search engines. I'm very disappointed that I have this thing stuck in my hard drive now, but glad I didn't pay for the software. However, it looks like I'll have to pay to get rid of it.

I have this same problem. I installed Driver Whiz to log into my army email with my military id.

Then it suddenly stopped working and every time I try to uninstall it tells me that I can't unless I uninstall from the installation package.

Which I don't have. So I'm stuck with it.

Windows 8 Virus

Adds to the Windoze 8 debacle by claiming to fix windows problems. But like windows itself you have to install yet more viruses to uninstall it. The uninstall doesn't work. It uses up resources on your computer without permission. You have to be a computer expert to remove it, and even then there may be other files around. You then have to install other packiges to install that one, all of which are an excuse to use your computer illegally. As for Windows 8: 1) You have to totally relearn the interface. 2) Your files are moved around or deleted without warning. 3) Outlook 2013 deletes messages and contacts arbitrarily. What a JOKE!

I instllled Driver Boost following their instructions. By the time I was able to get out of it, it cripled my pc to the point that I couldn't get on line. It took me several hours to work out the kinks and get back into the net. So far I haven't been able to find a way to contact the Co. to ask for a refund. I'm not a happy camper. I am amased that there isn't some way for the industry to police items like this to be able to offer consumers some kind of an up front heads up. "Buyer be ware!" has never been more aplicaple. PS I was also offered a $29.99 price and was charged $39.99.

Download software to update printer driver, changed my welcome screen also.

I asked for a refund, all I got was how to make the driver work. That was'nt the problem. I did not want my welcome screen to show up with a tv channel and a lot of other stuff. Later a lady call me from Whiz; want to know how I like the software. I ask her why I could not get a refund; and she had no more conversation about the software that I purchased. All I wanted was to update my printer driver. They wanted my money. You really have to check out what you are ordering when you download software from someone.

Driver Whiz,, CP scan & driver update

I lost sound on my computer.. Everything else was working fine..I used Driver Whiz for a scan ( it took about 5 seconds) The results told me that 73 drivers where outdated.. I registered paid with Safe cart and downloaded new drivers and installed them..Now here is the funny part: Still no sound and some programs corrupt, had to reinstall OS.. Every- thing clicking along again just fine..I e:mailed Driver Whiz and told them that their program did not do as promised and that I would like a refund..I also told them if they decline a refund, I would survive the 30 some dollar loss, but I would start a Chain Letter on the Web.. In less than two hours my money was back in my paypal account..

Driver Whiz - Uninstall???

I agree that DW is a piece of ****, but when you try to uninstall, it asks to make even more registry changes. I don't think so. Now I just want to get rid of it and cut my losses. ($40) Does any one know how to clean this garbage off of my computer?

It makes me suspicious about what other changes it has made. Does it phone home at night?

Why would these people cheat you when you have already paid them?

Why would they make it difficult to uninstall?

Please reply to this thread if you know answers to these questions.

I guess there is one born every minute.

PLEASE HELP ME

Guest

Hi I do agree if you have a solution to uninstall driver whizz please help

Guest

I got robbed by them yesterday my computer did work until I let them take over now I have nothing but a black screan do not trust them

Guest

Thank you Mogal....I, like many others found Driver Whizz a load of

*** and waste of money and was unable to uninstall but thanks to your

info to use CC cleaner (which I allready had)I AM NOW FREE ha ha.

Guest

I don't know how I got Driver Whiz on my computer, but I did. I too was like many of you on this forum.

I have a program on my computer called CC Cleaner. I use it to just clean my computer up. On the tools section, there is an option to uninstall programs.

It worked on Driver Whiz!!!!! I no longer have it!

Guest

if you know the date you purchased driver whiz you can try a system restore to a few days prior- that should get rid of it but make sure you havent added any new programmes after driver whizz or system restore will remove those too

I reported this programme over a year ago on here = it is so sad that its still available to purchase when it clearly doesnt work

Guest

why cant I uninstall driver whiz? it just comes up "change" in my uninstall programmes

Guest

Driver Whiz sucks, what gives them the right to make it impossible to uninstall, hmmm kinda reminds me of a virus!

Guest

Here's their trick. Right go to uninstall, double click, a box appears (change, repair, remove) you hit remove and a big box appears telling you can get 50% off or some ***, simply close that. As soon as you close that, the uninstall wizard box appears SO FAR TO THE LEFT (AND AT BOTTOM) THAT DEPENDING ON YOUR MONITOR YOU MIGHT NOT SEE IT!! I have one of those really big wide rectangular screens and also a laptop, the laptop never shows as much onscreen as my PC does. So I saw this little corner of the box and dragged it out and sure enough it was the uninstall box, after that it just took seconds.

WHOEVER WROTE THIS WORKS FOR DRIVER WHIZ !! and is A TOTAL LIAR !!!

7. Written by myciolive, on 29-10-2010 10:30

The post is clearly intended to disseminate FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) about the best and most comprehensive driver tool on the market. Either that or, as per a previous comment, the post was made by someone not qualified to cast judgments.

JUST

GOOGLE â–ºREMOVE DRIVER WHIZ

THERE'S MANY MANY MANY COMPLAINTS, its on PISSED CONSUMER, Yahoo Questions, Tech forums ALL OVER THE INTERNET !!!

AND PPL UNABLE TO REMOVE THIS *** OFF THEIR COMPUTERS!!!

WHY DOES THE UNINSTALL BOX POP UP SO FAR TO THE LEFT YOU CAN'T SEE IT ON REGULAR OR LAPTOP SCREENS?

WHY DO YOU THINK I CAME ON THIS FORUM IN THE FIRST PLACE?? THIS *** PIECE OF *** DOESN'T WORK, REMOVES DRIVERS YOU NEED, IT'S total GARBAGE.

MANY OTHER PEOPLE RECOMMENDED REVO UNINSTALLER PROGRAM, WHICH I DIDN'T TRY BUT MANY OTHERS DID AND SAID IT WORKED GREAT.

Driver Whiz (Rip Off and Dangerous)

I purchased (unfortunately) Driver Whiz on line just a couple of days ago. Simultaneously, an Error Whiz got downloaded with it as well, with no prior notice. I ran Driver Whiz, then I ran Error Whiz. Next thing I know is that all my email addresses and emails disappeared. Luckily I managed to recover them with a restore point. Yesterday and today I done a bit of a search about Driver Whiz and Error Whiz, and according to the reviews they are apparently a rip off. Stopzilla also confirms this, which I now downloaded and run a full scan. I do not know who or what to trust anymore as I've been bitten more than once since I am not that good at computers. I will try for a refund from Driver Whiz, though I am not that confident, reading that some had already tried without success. Control is needed about these companies trying to rip off unsuspecting customers. Thank you for your attention.

Ripped me off

In March of this year I was having some issues with my computer so I looked online for help. I came across this company that installed missing drivers to your computer. I was missing a couple of drivers so I purchased it. I installed it and none of the drivers that I needed would download into my computer. The nest day I contacted them via email stating it didn't work on my computer and I received no response. Still to this day I am trying to get in touch with someone and they will not give me any reponse to my issue. They ripped me off and will not return my money even though they state a 30 day money back guarentee!!

This happened to me too. I was looking for drivers and their site came up on google with the driver I wanted.

Purchased their package as it was the only place available for this driver. When I downloaded it I ran the software and the driver was nowhere to be seen.

I immediately asked for a refund as their product was not as described and they wanted me to jump through hoops to get a refund. Still have not had my money back and would not recommend this company.
