RTL 12606 Defective
My wife owned a New Drive RTL 12606 Shower Chair for about one month when the area where a leg plugs into, broke a part. She is well under the weight limit of the chair which is 300 LBS.
(She is 170 LBS) We returned the chair to the retailer to exchange for an exact replacement only to have the replacement break in the same exact place. This time it happened after only about one week. The chair actually gave away without warning causing her to fall in the shower. She hit her face on the floor and is now feeling some pain in her neck that she was not feeling before.
To error on the side of caution, we returned it once again to the retailer for a refund.
She proceeded to send an email the the Drive Company and is still waiting on a response. ( Drive Company, if you are monitoring this, we want to hear from you.)

Bad walker design
Drive walker model number hx59jp product code 10257rd-1 bar code 2f181250**** needs to be redesigned. it does not fold up small enough to fit In my car, it should have a soft basket not a hard one, it should have a full soft back rest not a roll bar, the seat is not wide enough for comfort, and should fold up with a grip on each side of the seat and push down on the seat to open, it does not fit through a regular bathroom door even folded.
Every time you fold it you have to take the basket off instead of having the basket fold with the chair, the wheels don't turn in, and its is heavy in weight and hard to lift, it is badly designed. Especially if you have arthritis of the hips, lower back, spine, and legs like I do. No walker should have a roll bar for a back rest no matter who makes it. That roll bar is not padded enough and it hurts.
I have to have 2 hip replacements and this is not the chair for that. It should never be sold or purchased at any cost.
- Never will buy drive medical
- Irresponsible
- Terrible customer service
- Worst design and badly priced
Preferred solution: tell Drive to go back to the drawing board and redesign it and make a better product

I have just purchased an Empower Rollator/Walker. After easily assembling it according to instructions I find that the handles/shaft is a bit looser than expected and rattles when being used.
Is there a way to tighten them so they don't rattle? Otherwise I love it and it is the envy of others at Brookdale Assisted Living.
