Dremel inoperable

I have a Dremel 4000 which has stopped working for a long time. Tried to change the carbon brush but there is no use.

The motor spins to slow and can't change the speed. i tried to follow the instructions on YouTube but was not able to sort out the problem.

3" cutoff blades

My 3 model Dremel saw has been discontinued. Couldnt find 3 circular saw blades any where so called Dremel direct.

Originally, they shipped me 3 saber saw blades by mistake. When I called customer service informed me saw had been discontinued and they would ship me, at no charge, a 4 Dremel circular saw with blades. FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE.

They even called me back later saying they had found 3 circular 3 saw blades and would also ship those to me at no charge! I LOVE DREMEL!

Universal oscillating blades not Universal

Dremel - Universal oscillating blades not Universal

Bought a $50 set of oscillating blades will not work on my dewalt or Bauer oscillating tools, making proprietary oscillating blades is a sucky thing to do. I own 3 Dremel tools and now when I look at them my blood pressure rises

Dremel emailed me and said I need to send it back and insure it. Why would I pay shipping AGAIN to fix this toy?

The brush holder should have a brass sleeve to keep the brushes from melting to the plastic which is what happened this time.

I tried to put it back together but the mini fingers on one side of the sliding switch snapped off. Dremel should be ashamed to put their name on this!

Model 3000.

I hardly used this the first time when the switch broke and since only used for an hour or two.

It was repaired 3/28/2018 and I had to pay shipping.

I took it apart this time and was shocked at the tiny plastic parts that look like a toy. This time the brushes got stuck in their slots so it quit running.

I keep thinking of Woody in Toy Story saying "You are a toy" to Buzz Lightyear.

I have a $10 Harbor Freight grinder that I use for hours on end and over hundreds of hours total and only replaced the power cord due to usage.

I will never buy Dremel brand again!

Do not buy Dremel products

After much discussion their only offer was to sell me an upgraded model at a discount. I accepted as I had no choice...not a satisfactory solution as I did not need the upgraded unit. They insisted that my model had only a 2 year warranty and after I sent them a photograph of the retail carton prominently displaying a 5 year warranty they said "sorry that was a mistake".I still would not recommend Dremel.

Here is my experience with tools made by Dremel.

I needed a tool to cut 3 electrical openings in 2 pieces of ceramic tile.

Purchased Dremel 100 it burned out in less than 1 hour, lots of smoke but no flame. Barely scratched the tile surface.

Returned it to store.

Bought Dremel 4000 supposedly their strongest unit.

Used the 4000 for 1 hour, took that long to barely cut 70% of the first opening. Called Dremel they said sorry return it for repair. I told them that after less than an hour of use doesnt amount to wear and tear and it should be replaced as defective. RIGHT!!

So, I bought a Dremel 3000, it managed to cut 11/2 openings and then it died, that worked for about 90 minutes before it died.

Returned that 3000 to store and purchased another 3000.

I needed to finish this tile project and could not wait for Dremel to repair the 4000.

Now I am on my 4th Dremel Rotary Tool with 11/2 openings left to finish. This 3000 managed to cut the remaining 11/2 openings but it took 2 hours to do so as the power unit kept slowing and stopping for the whole 2 hours.

I am returning this 3000 as well.

So I have gone through 4 Dremel tools 3 of which have been returned and I am left with a Dremel 4000 that has burned out in less than 1 hour and Dremel refuses to replace it.

Non existent customer care. They are polite but dont expect any service!

Dremel Cordless Rotary Tool

This thing is a worthless piece of junk. Do not waste your money.

The battery never holds a charge and must be charged for at least an hour before every use. The battery fails to lock in to the tool correctly, so I have to tape it in place to get the tool to work, even though I've only used it 3-4 times. It is hopelessly underpowered for any real sanding or grinding, and has failed to work effectively on any project I've tried it on yet. It wouldn't cut a brass toilet bolt, couldn't even grind a 1/16" groove in a lock hasp.

It might be good for a kid to play with, but I have yet to find a job it could do.
