Dr Times Clock Repair

Mr. Dave Dettmann (Owner of Dr. Times Clock Repair) had my clock for two years and returned it still not working, and in addition: missing parts. His "Only Option" was for me to incur Shipping fees of $110.00 again and return under WARRANTY. Upon return of clock to me, I sent a letter listing the concerns to Mr. Dave Dettmann as follows: THOMAS SETH MANTLE CLOCK CONCERNS: 1.CLOCK DOES NOT CONTINUE TO RUN 2.CHIMES NO LONGER WORK 3.SCREW AT THE BOTTOM OF INTERIOR CASE 4.UN-ATTACHED SCREW TO INTERIOR BOX HOLDING WORKS TO FRONT FACE OF BOX 5.CHIME RODS WERE SKEWED AND PLAYED FLAT 6.EXTERIOR FACE MOVES OUT OF PLACE 7.MISSING “SILENT/CHIME SQUARE WIND PEG I availed myself of OTHER OPTIONS; one being to take my clock to a reputable business and this is what was sent in a letter yesterday. INVOICE # 2800 $275.00 DATE 10/06/2020 DESCRIPTION Found ratchet gear on chime great wheel to be severely worn, and ratchet lever to be loose and bent. Repaired ratchet gear as best as can be done and repaired ratchet lever. Correct spacers for lower front plate were also missing. Hello Linda! You can see above the problems I found with the clock in addition to your notes. All of those items are repaired, as well as replacing the missing screw. Unfortunately, the rod that was used to silence the clock is missing, and I do not have a replacement part. I have the clock running on my desk and I will let that continue to run to be sure of full functionality and make any further adjustments or repairs as necessary. A special note: When winding the right most spring (when looking at the dial), care should be taken to be sure ratchet has engaged and will hold the spring (and attached key) so that the key does not spring backwards and smack your fingers. Interesting since it has now been repaired correctly by a business that has ehtics and invoiced.
