I am a senior medical practioner that lives in the same apartment block as Dr. Michael Karpa. We have spent many hours working together in theatre, to which it seems he hasn't grasped the basics of opthamology (eye surgery). He firstly lacks communication skills with any patients or potential patients, but preparation of patients' before operating is also lacking. I have had no choice other than report him to senior level hospital staff, which also resulted him being investigated by the AMA. A decision on his future is still pending and i think this may very well explain why he practices in the US and U.K. I hope this message may filter through to any potential patients to be aware. Oh my goodness, he's continuing and has wrecked my Mum's eye at a store in Golden Beach Australia...and she's not the only one...two other friends as well have realised this way too late.
Well isn't it ironic that you seem to be responding to a site and post that is rubbish.....
This site is rubbish. There is no fact checking.
Even though the comments by the above writer clearly do not make sense to a doctor and therefore almost certainly not written by a doctor or other health professional this website will not even provide any level of fact checking. So basically you can, on this site, anonymously say whatever you want about whomever you want for whatever reason and the victim has no recourse.
If such rubbish can be posted here (not a single part of this comment is truthful) with no proof of fact or recourse then this site is not useful in its purported role of identifying persons that consumers need to be aware of. Rather, it provides medium for persons with their own personal agenda to peddle misinformation for their own personal gain.

Moderators- this rubbish should be removed immediately. The commentator is obviously lying - what sort of "senior medical practitioner" would not even know how to spell opHthalmology?!
I AM a consultant ophthalmologist (I can even spell it properly!) and would be happy for any member of my family to be cared for by Dr Karpa.
I say this as someone who HAS actually worked with him and supervised him during his training. Dr Michael Karpa is as professional as they come.
Whoever posted the original comment probably has an axe to grind and I suggest they talk to Dr Karpa in person instead of posting cowardly (and ignorant) remarks on a website such as this.
