Doug Russell Marine is a Crook !Will not return calls or make good on new marine parts all junk he sold me! Won't make good on huge purchase being investigated by insurance company who knows facts and law next! Any Bosten lawyers call Andrew 1-80*-***-**** owes me over $7,000!!!I read he has done this many times so no easy task getting my money back but I will!!!No brag just fact!!!

Lack of follow through

Purchased 318 Chrysler engine. When I went to pick it up the engine was not ready. I made the purchase 3 weeks ahead of time, rented a trailer and drove from South of Boston all the way to Worcester. Then they told me they would have it ready and ship it to me in 3 days so I could have my mechanic and the crane ready to do the job. The engine never arrived and I will not have to argue with them for a refund.

Worked There 9 Years Ago-Nothing's Changed It Seems

Just feeling nostalgic, so I Googled where I worked in 2007... The Son has a Social Personality Disorder bordering on the bizarre, and I can clearly see that their "Policies" haven't changed. Working there reminded me of Gulag-esque conditions. Get this: he asked me to move some old Surf Boards on eBay. After some detective work, I discovered that these boards were out-of-production and thus highly collectible! So, I started to list them as Highly Collectible OOP boards (I have a background in selling Collectibles). 20 minute later he's yelling at me, like he was embarrassed that he still had them after all these years, and NOT to mention the vintage, like he wanted to screw the buyer. Do yourself a favor, and don't.

Wants to give 50 cents on the dollar to return improper parts bought on ebay

I bought what was suppose to be a 1968 chevelle quarter panel on ebay from Doug Russell on 10-8-14.I put it in storage until I was ready to start on the sheet metal restoration of my car.Started installing sheet metal on car and when I got to the quarter installation I learned the quarter did not fit mu car it was for a 1969 chevelle.Called Doug Russell in person and he said he would only give me $500.00 in return for the quarter although I paid him $1299.00.What kind of business man is this.You can draw your own conclusions but I would not do business with him.I still have all of the ebay transactions on my laptop and receipts for proof.

Rip off,,,

I bought a lower end bravo three, it was a reman, 2900.00. Less 300 for a core. This is where is started to go bad. It took five calls and over a month to get the core charge back. I was told my core was no good, it had corroded. Well that's why I needed a new one,, the owner told me 300 for the core no mater what,, anyway, he did make good. And returned the core charge. Ok now here it goes, 30 hrs into the season, and the reman lower comes apart, needed a tow, boat removal, and lost 3 weeks during prime season, he did make good on the warranty, and after 1 week gave me an exchange unit.. this seemed ok till I took the boat out of the water for wash down. All the paint had blistered, and reveled body filler,, yes bonds, in the lower, all over,, it was covering the corrosion on this one. So again I have a lower unit that is corroded, and will not hold paint, very poor this guy uses junk lowers and charges for reman... case is welded, full of bondo. He tells me it's a reman, and now out of warranty,, stay clear, they lie, and do snappy work. How this guy lasted thirty years is beyond me..be warned

Poor service...do not buy from Doug Russell

Ordered exhaust manifolds and risers and was told 7-10 days for delivery. Worked with 2 technicians. I paid for them ($999.99) and the funds were immediately removed from my account. 10 days later...no parts. I call them..."oh, someone messed up and forgot to order them. Who did you order them from?" Me: "You Nate, you." I finally received the parts a week later and Nate was supposed to call back with a discount. Surprise, surprise...no call back. Plus, none of the hardware was correct. Manifold bolts were 1/2" too long. Riser bolts were 1/2 inch too short. Nate and Ben are clueless!

RUDE!!!

I ordered a part that I needed quickly. They told me that it would arrive in 3 days, so I asked if I could have it sent overnight. They agreed and charged me $27.00 to ship a very small part. Three days later I still don't have the part so I called and asked. They said that the $27.00 was for normal shipping and I'd get it in another day or two. The Customer Service Rep was very rude and told me that I should've known better than to think that I could get it overnight for $27.00. I will no better next time......DON"T ORDER FROM DOUGRUSSELL.COM!!!!!!!!!! When asked for a refund of the extra shipping, I was simply told NO!

Chris Rapanick in the last week-Edit I recently made an order on dougrussell.com. I found a steering wheel for my boat on the site, thought it was cool looking and it was a great price so I ordered it. When I got the delivery I thought it was a mistake because it was not a wheel. I went back to the site and the page that I was on had a picture of the wheel and the clear description of it. I contact Doug Russell via e-mail and said I had gotten the wrong thing. The rep replied and stated that the listing was incorrect that was for the hub (which I received, not the wheel). He said that he was sorry and I could send it back. I said that I thought they should honor the price, it was their mistake. The rep said he would gladly do so but they "don't carry that wheel" I was disappointed but moved on, the next day I'm looking elsewhere for the wheel and what do I find, the wheel advertised for $200 more than I had ordered it for. Of course, I contacted the company they now the rep stated the product is a special order, not they don't carry it. And although he said he would honor the price if he could get the wheel, the rep now says he will give me a $50 discount on the wheel if bought from them. This is the same exact wheel he said he could not get 24 hours earlier. I asked for his boss' contact info and his boss e-mailed me today. Basically he says the same thing as the rep., does not assume responsibility for their error and clearly supports the employee that has lied to at least one of his customers. He said the only thing he will do is refund my money when I send the hub that they sent back. He also stated that he would give me $50 against the wheel if I wanted to "special order" it. I do believe that the listing was a mistake but I also know that the rep lied about the availability of that steering wheel; I guess because they didn't want to lose the $200. I say that they are a shady business that clearly will put a couple hundred before any thought of customer satisfaction and integrity in doing what you say you are going to do. I will not shop there again and I would say buyer beware to anyone that expects to pay the price as advertised for boat supplies.
