July 16th 2016. I took my dog to a Dock Dogs event in Aberfoyle. We started off with the small dock area for training and had a dock dog person at first to help with training and guard from my dog possibly taking off. The second training period we tried the actual full dock. I had a few problems getting him to jump but eventually i was able to give him a bit of a push in. I wasn't shown any dock diving rules and had a problem finding the front gate opening. It was the first time dock diving which i had explained when i first registered. Unfortunitly, due to the problem i faced finding the gate opening and not having a dock dogs member to stop my dog from taking off as backup which they were suppose to have for safety lead me to a problem considering my dog was off leash and muzzle when diving. My dog was now lose in the crowd with me still up on the dock in disbelief and the first time helper anouncing the training period. It turned out the management caught my dog but not before my dog attacked another dog. I was given a written warning and asked to return hours later to have some one on one training. The management admitted at that time it was partially their fault and that the should have had a member back their. So why didn't they????? This training time never happened and i found out that what i was told by the management " 2 scratches to the other dog" hours later was 4 puncture wounds and doggie whiplash. This lead to a $560 bill and i was still charged by dock dogs for an event we didn't even really participate in except for a bit of training. I don't see how an event management company like this can just walk away without any responsibility even when they are partially at fault since one of there members was suppose to be helping with training and gaurding that area????? I'm disputing the fee and will never attend another one of their no responsibility events ever again. I would not recommend this event as it stands to anyone and that includes enemies.

The owner of Dockdogs Canada was unprofessional, unprepared, no regard for the published rules, and just plan rude. We have participated in several Dockdogs Canada events; each time hoping that with experience the management of these events would improve. At this point we will not be spending our money with this company. The CEO who managed these events was never prepared to run an entertaining event. The music played during the events was load, limited and played over and over again in a two hour loop. The announcing was unprofessional and did not improve over the course of the 4 separate events we attended, competitors names and there home locations were repeatedly mispronounce even after corrections where offered, we felt this was very disrespect of those competitors. There was broken and malfunctioning equipment, and untrained "volunteers" doing the work for this CEO, as there never seemed to be enough the staff. We studied the published rules found on the Dockdogs web site and where very disappointed when the CEO ignored or rewrote the rules to suit his whims. Some competitors where given inaccurate scores, while others were penalized. The result was that, what was supposed to be a fun weekends turned into torture and a complete waste of money.
