Bad Customer Service
We went about 4 pm to the DoitBest Metzger's at 1607 Central Avenue in Los Alamos, New Mexico. My step-daughter was the cashier.
We had encouraged her to apply here, do to your customer service reputation and my having gone to this location since about 1978. We asked my step daughter where the heat lamp bulbs were, and the bird seed. She is supposed to be memorizing your inventory and its locations, and she got it right the first time. When we get to the checkout, Ellen Geisik was working, but when we approached a man came out of nowhere and used his hand to guide her out of the cashier stand.
He stated she wasn't allowed to check out, family, which we hadn't had problems with before, and got mad at us. He refused to allow us to use our DoitBest phone number to get points, and then kept yelling at us. We were not aware that having ellen ring us up was against store policy, and would deny us getting the normal points we get, and he got upset, and we had to ask for a bag 4 times. He acted like we had done something to him personally.
This is the only bad customer service we have had here in 40 years. We didn't feel my step daughter needed to be led out like a dog either. What was even more suspicious, is all of your employees except him had a name tag, on, and he refused to identify himself. He was 5'6" to 5'8", had brown hair and brown beard.
We had never seen him there before.
We think given you have cameras on each register, we only bought bird seed, we are regulars at the store, Whatever issue the guy had with not having enough employees to man the registers in case one of their family members comes in, shouldn't be taken out on us. We also think it ought not to be a problem to ask for a bag, or for your employees and their managers to wear name tags, we have even had to do this at church, so they can be identified.

Verified ReviewerDiscriminatory Practices Disguised as Personality Tests
I recently (Thursday, July, 11, 2019) took the Team Preference test at Do It Best Corp applying for General Warehouse.
This is known as Pre-Employment Testing. One of this series of tests purposes is to decide if you will get a traditional interview or not.
I easily passed the first two tests, he Math test and the Code Matching test.
The third test was the Team Preference test.
I was not even aware one could fail this test. Partially because of the name, "Preference" and partially because the manager administering the test explicitly told us to answer honestly and not just chose answers that we thought the company wanted us to chose.
I was led to believe it was more of an opinion based test.
Even the name is deceiving.
I really didn't understand the test at all.
The test had little to do with integrity or personality and was purposely long-winded and bombastic. As if the goal was to confuse and not to actually gain information about a potential employees work ethic.
18 of the 20 questions had to do with Teamwork versus Individual work.
I noticed many of the questions were the same with minute differences.
Each question only had 2 possible answers. A or B.
I answered mostly pro Individual responsibility versus Team responsibility and failed the test.
Some of the questions I answered pro Teamwork but I guess those were also wrong.
I was called out of the meeting room, told that I had failed and asked to leave.
I asked the manager who administrated the tests if he could tell me anything about why I failed the test. He was reluctant at first but after I persisted, he touched on a few points;
DIB paid a psychiatrist to create the test
Administers of the test are only shown a Pass or Fail result with no further information given.
Come back and try again in 6 months.
Another question on the Team preference test I did not understand was regarding interpersonal relationships.
A) I believe interpersonal relationships are based mostly on rank, position and profile.
Versus
B) I believe interpersonal relationships are based mostly on friendship, community and shared beliefs. (I'm paraphrasing here).
You can see how BOTH questions could be considered correct depending on the situation.
In other words, what's the context?
At work, the answer is A but at home the answer is clearly B.
My wife is my friend but my boss is not.
The main frustrating thing is that I will never know what I did wrong on the test since as I mentioned, it is Do It Best's Policy to not inform the potential employee about ANY test results.
I called DIB Corporate Office and spoke with their main Human Resources representative.
She told me that specific test does not change.
How can I be honest and aim for a different result if the test does not change?
There are only 2 possible answers for each question.
6 months or 6 years will not change the results.
I believe this kind of deceitful and prevaricated wording is on purpose.
Out of 8 candidates, one failed the Math and Matching test.
An older Native American women and myself were let go for failing the Team Preference test. We are both over 40 years of age.
The 5 remaining candidates were all much younger and all under 40 years of age.
I looks to me like Do IT Best has a very handy discriminatory policy disguised as a psychological test about team work.
Someone should look into this test.
Preferred solution: Do It Best needs to let possible employees know what THEY want on the test!
