Dixie Building Products Bogus Warranty and repair service

AI Highlights
  • - The stove ran about 20 minutes twice and then wouldn’t start again.
  • - Dixie says they don’t handle the warranty and the sales rep promised repair.

I bought one of their pellet stoves and recently hooked it up last week (10/15/11). It ran for about 20min.

twice and then would not start up the 3rd time or since. I called the Dixie company that sold me the pellet stove telling them that the stove was broken and they told me they didn't handle the warranty even though when I talked to the sales rep when I bought the stove who said that if anything went wrong with the stove that they would fix it. I come to find out that they will NOT fix the stove and that either I have to fix it or PAY someone to fix the stove. The only thing I can get are the parts and that I have to pay to have the stove fixed.

This is a big heavy pellet stove that costs a lot of money to ship and to not give in home repair service is NOT a repair service/warranty of your product. NO WHERE in the warranty information, or when I talked to the sales rep, was it ever stated that I was going to have to fix this stove on my own if it broke under the warranty timeframe. To say there is a repair service/warranty and then tell people that they have to either fix it themselves or PAY someone to fix it is NOT a repair service/Warranty!! I would have NEVER bought this pellet stove if I knew that when it broke I would either have to fix it myself or pay to have someone fix it!

This was fraudulent information given to me because I was TOLD by the sales rep that if the stove broke it would be fixed under the warranty. That is *** and ridiculous to expect people to pay a lot of money to fix a major product that is still supposed to be under warranty and never really ever worked!!

The 2 times we fired it up was just to test it, the 3rd time we actually wanted to USE IT! This stove is not even 3 months old and is broken and they refuse to get a repairman in to have it fixed!!
