Company promised special prices & gave no Quote

I approached Diversified to install a HEI distributor($99), new spark plug wires, $49 check& fix brakes, (promised quote) front wheels seem to lock up before the rears set in. Mechanic even skidded on your garage floor, when he entered the garage. In addition I told the technician to replace both water hoses. By the way they popped a few weeks later.

, I feel that the cost was extremely high for the amount of work that was done, especially on an open hot rod. Seven hours to install distributor and wire kit, hoses/w, excessive labor charges. To top it off, the brakes were never worked on. In fact, I was told that the timing was reset; this would prevent the skidding of the front wheels. (Say What)? When I brought the car in my mileage was 18mpg, when I left, now I get 8 mpg, great tune up? Also within 7 days, the bottom hose came loose and dumped all my anti freeze, leaving me sranded for hours, till a tow truck arrived.

Diversified made promises that where not kept, and above all never gave me a up front quote, before work was to started,

When I asked other dealers (later) to quote on the same work, prices came in at $300 to $500 for the same work, which included the brakes.

I agree with the customer, the owners son is the laziest person on earth! They have horrible customer service, unless you like being talked to like a *** by someone who has never touched a tool in his life. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you like paying high prices for sub par work from a washed up ***!

Mr. Yurek scheduled an appointment to inspect his uneven braking on his street rod. On inspection, we advised him we could fix his brakes, but he had installed a compression fitting in the hard line that was unsafe and illegal. He did not want to pay us to replace the line and told us he would repair it himself and bring it back afterward.

His car was dragging the front brakes due to no vacuum for his power brake booster. The low vacuum condition was due to improper timing and a poor ignition (this is why he was replacing the distributor). Anyone installing a distributor would set the timing properly before letting a vehicle leave their shop. He was charged a total of 5 hours for the distributor install, including building a custom spark plug wireset that he requested (approximately 2 hours) and setting the carburetor and timing. The other 2 hours of labor was for the custom radiator hoses he also asked us to install. The upper is a flexible stainless pipe that has to be cut to length and bent to shape, and we had to replace his thermostat housing to accommodate the new hose. We also fixed a broken radiator support rod that he neglected to mention. He was never charged the $49 for inspecting the brakes.

In conclusion, we are sorry that Mr. Yurek was not happy with the work done on his car. We hope all of our customers will be satisfied with our high level of service and hold ourselves to a high standard of quality. However, given the unsafe condition of his car and the custom nature of the work requested, we still believe we was charged appropriately. Thank you for reading.
