Title: VRBO Review: A Disappointing Experience with Lack of Trust and Support

I recently had an unfortunate experience with VRBO, and I must say that the company did not live up to my expectations. As a customer who values trust and reliability, I was disappointed by the lack of transparency and support provided by VRBO.
The issue began when a customer withdrew their credit card payment.
Naturally, I promptly reported this to VRBO, hoping for a swift resolution. To their credit, VRBO acknowledged our complaint and initiated a review. Eventually, we were relieved to see the funds returned to our account.
However, our relief was short-lived, as just a few days later, VRBO inexplicably withdrew the payment once again from our bank account. To make matters worse, we received no explanation or communication regarding this unexpected action.
Despite our repeated attempts to contact VRBO through letters, our inquiries were blatantly ignored, leaving us frustrated and without any answers for weeks.
Perhaps the most concerning aspect of this ordeal is the lack of available communication channels. VRBO's unavailability by telephone is a significant drawback, as it hinders the ability to promptly address urgent matters. It felt as if VRBO deliberately made it difficult to reach out and resolve the issue at hand. This lack of accessibility and responsiveness is deeply troubling and raises questions about VRBO's commitment to customer satisfaction and support.
Furthermore, the fact that VRBO is not adequately protecting hosts is disconcerting.
Hosts rely on platforms like VRBO to provide a secure and trustworthy environment for their customers. However, in this case, it appears that VRBO failed to fulfill its obligation to protect the interests of hosts, leaving them vulnerable and unsupported.
In summary, my experience with VRBO has left me with a sense of disappointment and frustration.
The lack of transparency, unresponsiveness, and the inability to contact VRBO directly has seriously undermined my trust in the company. As a result, I cannot recommend VRBO as a reliable platform for hosts or customers seeking a trustworthy vacation rental experience.

Renting a house in VRBo
Never rent with VrBO you will have your worst nightmare,
I rented an apartment in NY for 5 months. While I was there we had an extreme severe mice infestation. In only one of the nights, there were 5 mice killed on the mousetrap. They were screaming the hole night because they were half alive and half dead s in our room. We were there if our two small kids .
After 4 nights of mice infestation, we decided to leave the house. I called Vrbo for support for many times. I had to stay for more than 10 hours in phone calls and their help to me was just saying pay the hotel by yourself, rebook a new property by yourself, and they promised to reimburse me.
The problem was that the new property available costed 52,000.00 Dolores and my credit card just don't allow me to do this rebooking.
The whole lesson is to tell that if you rent a house with VRB O YOU ARE *** UP ! YOU ARE BY YOURSELF!! NOBODY WILL HELP YOU EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALL THE PROOF, PICTURES, CONVERSATIONS .
NEVER USE THIS RENTING PLATFORM!
IT IS A NIGHTMARE!

I raised a report with ASIC Reference Number: 9780**** but as Discovr refused to respond to correspondence the matter was simply dropped. Apparently the amount was too small, even though collectively with all the other businesses similarly affected, it amounted to a lot more.
My guess is that Darren Mathers is well versed in exactly how much he can rip people off without raising the matter sufficiently to warrant more action by ASIC. Really rotten deal for small businesses being constantly ripped off the same way over and over again.

In February of 2020, I paid $1,700, half of the total estimate for the online marketing platform & SEO plan. The sales pitch was fabulous; the "demo" seemed just what i needed, the salesman was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, insightful, etc., But after they got my money, Only excuses, MANY , many, many scheduled meeting, to see the progress for my business...Often excuses about not receiving my emails, etc.
often going 6 weeks without getting a reply to many many emails. when i'd finally get a "meeting" scheduled, i'd plan my entire day around it, rearranging plans and other meetings. Always postponed, delayed, lots of excuses.
Eventually, they just quit replying at all.... they are in Australia, so i probably have no legal recourse...

On September 5.2019 we have been billed by a company Discovr Bookings after many emails and phone conversation with the owner Darren Mathers (owner of Discovr Bookings) $2,249.00 for an SEO promotion and promotion of our activities and tours on Discovr Bookings website. A few days later, we find out we have been also charged $49 for a bank transfer fee which we never agreed with.
After several weeks of no actions from Discovr Bookings, we have been informed we missed an activation date and they didn't do anything because of that. Because we have never been contacted by them to activate anything (we don't even have any idea what to activate and why), we asked them for a refund. The owner Darren Mathers told us he will handle it and after a few days later when we received nothing we asked him again and he played the same game again, saying he is not handling this, but he will take care of it. Make the story short, we periodically asked for the refund, he is not responding anymore and we never received any refund from them.
They took and keeping our money for no reason and they're unresponsive since than. We would like to get our money back all together with a bank transfer fee we never agreed with.
