No one is answering the phone. I have not yet received my copier.
I have called several time and left several voice messages, no one has returned my phone calls or emails. I really need someone to call me back please.
Preferred solution: Call me back ASAP!!!
SCAMMER! BUYER BEWARE!
SCAMMER! BUYER BEWARE!
I have emails, phone call recording of Owner David and this sub tech Randy from Copynet which back's up everything stated below.
I ordered an open box very low usage unit printer from David stokes. Upon delivery 5/9/18 of the printer it was filled with ink and there was ink splatter all over the inside and outside of the unit. I was told by the tech all printer’s ship without ink loaded within the printer. Plus, as I have bought printer and plotter machine in the past they were never filled with ink and the manufacture always states if you move or transport the machine to empty the ink. When we opened the printer and plugged it in we noticed that there was an error coming up on the machine. “A System error has occurred” we turned the printer off and powered back on still says this message.
I called and emailed David which he ordered a tech named “Randy” to come out and look at the issues with the unit. When the tech was reviewing the printer, he stated other items were broken and required to be fixed. He started fixing those items we didn’t notice which were broken under the glass part in the unit piece floating around and he went ½ hour putting these pieces back together. When he started to open the left side of the unit and took out a drum like object it was broken, and the tech explained it was broken and a “new” piece had to be ordered. David stated the “new” piece was overnight to us. Which took 4-5days for the “new” piece to come in. When it did come in the tech came back and opened the “new” piece and the item delivered was NOT new and was from an old unit used and was also broken! This was also confirmed by the tech. At this point the tech got on the phone with David and I have a recording of the conversation of tech talking with David, myself and en employee was on this recording as well. This conversation states the status of the unit and the tech states “1st time the fuser was all broken laying in piece’s laying inside” “I got the other fuser today and that was broken” “there is toner all over the machine” “it’s not working like it should” “this was supposed to be a low meter machine David” I stated “it’s a border line scam” Tech Randy stated “border line!” tech stated “go online and google Direct source scams”. I also have a recording of David, manufacture from xerox Tom and myself and David states he would give a full refund and pick up the printer.
All and all my office is still down a printer which is affecting my business daily! This was a very stressful and taxing experience and I was not sold the unit I was told. This matter is more then a broken printer. This is a case of fraud. I have been lied and cheated out of a copier that to this day is sitting in my office broken!
If you wish to listen to the recording I can email them to you. This is to protect the next person!
- Drop the sale man talk and be a real person
- Cheated out of 1990 dollar
- Sold a copier with 500000 copies run thru it already
Direct Source NIGHTMARE
Putting my review here and everywhere it's worth... My org had a terrible experience with them back in 2010 getting a refurbished copier.
It's 2018 and CANNOT believe these guys are still in business! They sound nice and professional upfront, but they're professional hustlers. Once they had our $, they started acting like total scammers giving us all sorts of false promises, attitudes, vague information, documentation, delivery dates, info about the copier, etc! ...
We grew suspicious that they were scammers because they are a 3rd party and told them that if they don't give us XYZ by this date, we wanted a refund. They gave all sorts of fancy answers, and "the copier is on its way!". We went back/forth with them for 3 weeks and finally asked for a refund. They STILL argued saying they'd follow through but by that time they lost all of our trust.
We had our credit card company put a hold on their payment. This woke them the *** I had a few more phone calls with David, who was disgruntled with me about that and gave me grief about how our organization was being impatient with them, blah blah blah (manipulative much???)... But they finally sent us the proper documentation that we'd been asking for, so we lifted the hold and finalized our purchase with them. You guys, it took us like 4-6 months to get our copier...(can't remember exactly as that was 8 years ago but it was a LONG time) The thing didn't even work properly, OMG!!!
We had to contract with another company to come and give us tune ups/fix things all the time! What a nightmare.
Scam of a Company
Ordered a Ricoh unit--$2,990 refurbished--on 1-22-18 when Dave was having his winter blowout sale. I was promised free shipping if I ordered in the next 3 days.
Further I was told there was a truck heading to Colorado (where the business I work for is located) that day and if I ordered that day, it would be on a truck and delivered in 5-7 days. After following up with Dave every Friday for about 3 months, I realized I was not going to receive the unit so I asked for a refund. That was on 4-14-18, 12 days ago. After emailing back and forth with Dave and his accountant Tracie, during which time they repeatedly claimed that the refund had already been sent; we still have not received our refund.
BUYER BEWARE like other people have suggested, I would try to order directly from the manufacturer and not from a 3rd party like Dave at Direct source copiers. If you give him any money you will be in the same boat as me.
Thanks a million!!!!
My office had our color copier die unexpectedly, the thing literally had smoke coming out of it 1 week before the start of a huge project. I was desperately searching for a replacement unit and Direct Source kept popping up with the lowest price.
I called and spoke with Dallas, (really his name) and bought a Canon 820 color system with extra paper trays and stand for an unreal price.
I needed this on a super rush and thankfully the copier got her just in the nick of time. My boss was hesitant at first (never purchased a copier online before) but is extremely impressed with the copier's performance.
- Knowledgeable sales staff
Poor Customer Service
The negative reviews are pretty accurate based on my own experience. David will hassle you to sign a no refund agreement to seal the "great" price and the sale is limited and he can only guarantee you that price for the next day or so.
I am an IT guy and purchased this copier for a client. The copier was late on delivery by a week, then it wouldn't even turn on when arrived! When I called, David Stokes constantly gave me the run around, making excuses, and never followed through with the repairs on a "refurbished" copier. I disputed my credit card company and had a refund issued, I was smart to have file the dispute on the onset of the first problem after reading these reviews.
If you have questions about my experience feel free to contact me by looking up my company, Digital Crisis in Houston Texas and ask for me. In addition, they wrote a negative review about my business as retaliation.
Terrific Experience!
What a wonderful experience! Happily, I found Direct Source Copiers on line when my local reps could not afford me the courtesy of a phone call.
When I called Direct Source Copiers, I was happy to know they even answer their phones. I immediately felt comfortable with them because of their expertise and knowledge of color copiers. I wanted a color copier that not only offered excellent image quality but good toner costs and most importantly, great yields on the toners. That was important.
The Direct Source Copiers sales rep brought me to a page that had the Toshiba color copiers on sale. They showed me the difference between the Toshiba color copiers and others like the Canon's. When they took the time to compare several others, I was convinced the Toshiba was the one for me. Also, they introduced me to the local service guy that would help me if I needed it.
I told Direct Source Copiers I needed the Toshiba copier for a big church project I was planning. They asked me what time would be the latest I could have delivery and they assured me it would be delivered at that time. Sure enough, it came the exact day they said it would. As a matter of fact, Direct Source Copiers provided me with a 5 day advanced tracking number so I can get ready for delivery.
When the copier arrived, it was boxed and strapped and in perfect shape! I plugged it in and started using it. It was one of the seamless transactions I had in a long time!
Thank you Direct Source Copiers! My experience was terrific!
Do not deal with this company
I called Direct Source Copiers in CA & ordered a copier "on sale" for $1,999. & added a toner bringing my total to $2,149.
on October 31st afternoon. The money was withdrawn from my account on November 1st. My son gave me a similar printer that evening so I called emailed Direct Source Copiers at 8:36 AM on November 2nd to request a cancellation. David Stokes called and said it was already being delivered (even though I was originally told it would take a week to 10 days to get it) and so I would be charged up to $300.
shipping and a re-stock fee. The next day he let me know ALL I would have to pay is the $150. re-stock fee. I still have not received my refund and it will be 6 weeks soon.
He says Canon refunded but did not deduct the $150. re-stock fee so it's taking longer.
I would like for someone in charge at Canon to see my mail and understand that, for 1 thing, the charge for a re-stock is unfair since I notified the dealer the next day I wanted to cancel and also - why is it taking so long to get my refund? I should be able to charge interest on my money.
- Holding part of my money for re-stock no refund after 6 weeks
Preferred solution: Full refund
I think they are great
We bought a Samsung SCX-6345N from Direct Source Copiers for a very good price. We have had it for many years, and we still buy our supplies from Direct Source Copiers.
When we have had copy issues or machine issues, the very knowledgeable staff has helped solve it over the phone and for free. They also send us occasional emails for great deals on toner and drums. I can't think of a single time that they were anything but helpful. We are very surprised to see negative comments about this company.
They have been great for us. I recommend them, and I intend to be a repeat customer.
- Great sales staff
Does not stand behind the product that he sells
i totally agree that direct source copiers does not have the integrity to be in business.
i ordered two canon copy machines for $3290 each, delivered to two office locations.
david stokes assured me that he would provide local technicians to set up each unit.
one installation went flawlessly. the other installation did not. it appears that the machine arrived with a defective fax board, or that the recommended tech inadvertently fried it during installation, but blamed it on a lightning storm while the unit was not plugged in. fingers started pointing in every direction and no one stood up to make the installation whole.
david assured me that he was taking care of the situation, he has not. this has been going on since february. i have to say that he has shown his true stripes in not standing behind the products that he sells. let the buyer beware!
- Chose not to deal with equipment defects
Preferred solution: i have given up on them, i will purchase part and install from unrelated party with integrity
Can I give negative stars? I feel compelled to warn others about this company.. Never have i ran across a group like this
With regard to any prior comments I have posted regarding Direct Source Copiers and
their personnel, I would now like to say that we have resolved our dispute to our mutual
satisfaction.
Can I give negative stars? I feel compelled to warn others about this company.. Never have i ran across a group like this
I know I got tricked by them. Details to follow but first follow these rules if you want to deal with this company:
1. Do not sign any paperwork that says no refund. (trust me if you do than you will have a hard time getting what you thought you were getting)
2. Verify and request proof of size of the company and ability to provide service.
3. Mr. Stokes will make many promises and will follow through extensively to get sales. He will promote himself as the owner of the business and that he is only interested in providing the best service unlike the other guys. When you ahve issues than he will ignore your calls and emails (get details in writing of his commitment otherwise good luck)
4. Don't get tricked into assuming that service will be promised as delivered. Get him to give you a Service Level Agreement that guarantees response time. For example, toners should arrive within x days after placing order.
5. If you are buying from them because you are assuming he is also going to provide you service than do not allow him to split the paperwork into two separate documents. You need to make sure that you can get a refund if he doesnt deliver on service and get that in writing.
Okay- now why am i giving you this advice? Because I believe i got bamboozled for the first time in my life. Here is a summary of what happened to my order-
1. I was in process of renewing my copier contract with service with Ikon but I unfortunately came across their website. I bought from them because David Stokes made me believe they offer better service and that they had an office here in the bay area for quick service calls. I was hesitant but i thought let me work with a business where the owner is so involved because surely they will provide great service.
2. david stated they would get it installed once it arrives and will have quick turnaround time. Copier arrived and sat here until I reached out to him after a week or so. Also told him that the cabinet that they shipped (BY THE WAY NEVER BUY CABINETS FROM THEM. THEY ARE UGLY AND EXPENSIVE) seemed broken. A tech arrived and reached the same conclusion and than ordered another one. This meant I had to continue paying for old contract. The tech could have actually gotten the printer working without the cabinet because it is not something that was required to make copier work. When new cabinet arrived again we had to do followup and asked that the tech comes early. Here i realized they were not his staff because he said they can not come at the time i needed them. So I told him I want a refund on everything. He promised me that this was not his fault and issue with shipping and because he already had a tech out twice to allow him an opportunity to move forward. I reluctantly agreed trusting him. The tech did not arrive at 8 am as promised so I sent email. I guess they didnt like it because I expected people to be on time and had to ask where he was to ensure the same delays dont occur.
2. Tech installed the printer and told us that we should order black toner right away since the starter toner will not last that long. We followed his instructions and ordered right away.
3. About 14 days later we run out of toner and staff calls them to find out about the order. They told them that it was back ordered (KEEP IN MIND THIS IS BLACK TONER) so they will ship it out and will arrive in about 3-5 days. My staff stressed that we werre out and it didnt make sense. They came to me and so I tried to reach out to David Stokes the owner. He didnt take my calls and deferred calls to a guy named Dallas. He stated the same but than said it would arrive in 2 days. I argue and scream to be heard to let them know that i have had to get a tech to get the other printer connected and wasted several hours of downtime and that I would have to pay for usage for that printer along with theirs so asked that he overnites it to arrive by early am (thank god we didnt return it yet otherwise i was going to be down without ability to print for several days). He wouldnt agree and I kept yelling and finally he said he would get it out. I told him to get it to him by early am and he said he doesnt know when it will arrive. I told him you can pick expedited shipping so it arrives first thing in am. He said he would see. Also i asked him about the cost to my business and so he said they would discount all products for future purchases for color toners. I told him that even with discounted prices they were more expensive than other sites for same product. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM WITHOUT COMPARING PRICES AT OTHER SITES EVEN IF THEY SAY THEY DISCOUNTED IT FOR YOU.
4. I kept emailing the owner and finally got to speak to the owner David Stokes and reiterated my position. I told him the cost to my business because they couldn't ship out a black toner in 14 days and so i need to get a refund. he refused than i told him I need an SLA if he wants me to stay. He asked what is an SLA. I had to explain to him what a service level agreement is. I told him I need in writing when I would be guaranteed certain services. For example if printer is down someone will come within x hours of report. If toner ordered, it will arrive in x days from order. If he fails to deliver than we outline penalties in agreement. He refused. So I asked him for a refund and told him it appeared as if he was running this thing out of his garage and only worried about sellling and not delivering on service. I do remember yelling through this because i just couldnt believe this was happening. He said he will be taking away the service agreement and that I was stuck with what I bought and to do what I have to do because I wont be seeing my money back. Than he hung up.
5. After an hour or so of speaking with him, I sent him an email stating i apologized for getting angry but he had to get me an SLA and a credit amount for my business disruption. He replied back he would call me later in the day. Never got the call. I filed a complaint with the BBB as well on this day because I had a feeling he was not going to deliver.
6. Next morning no toner. Instead I get an angry email from Tracie Stokes Co-Owner angry that i complained with BBB and they were going to block my emails and refunding 488.88 out of $595 of the annual service agreement. Keep in mind she came up with this number and charged me for a toner that i didnt agree on pricing for. Toners out there for as low as $65. Also the toner that they supposedly shipped went to a different address and so i didnt want it and sent them an email to take it back and refund my full annual fee. No response. I am in dispute with credit card company and next step will be court. they caused me expenses and failed to live up to the service promises. IN THE END IF YOU STILL THINK YOU HAVE TO BUY FROM THEM BECAUSE YOU ALSO READ SOME POSITIVE REVIEWS THAN YOU NEED TO DO MORE HOMEWORK. I HAVE SEEN SEVARAL OTHER SIMILAR REVIEWS LIKE MINE OUT THERE AFTER THE FACT.
7. IF YOU STILL WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM THAN FOLLOW MY RULES ON THE TOP AND YOU WILL SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF HEADACHES. OTHERWISE HAVE A SECOND PRINTER ON HAND FOR THE TIMES THEY MAY NOT DELIVER.
Direct Source Copiers Fantastic & Awesome
Direct Source Copiers the most helpful copier company on-line! When I went on line looking for a copier, Direct Source Copiers were incredibly helpful. Their knowledge base is above any others I called and they took their time with me. I do not know much
about copiers but I was glad I called. Once they helped me pick copier, they discussed all the options and put everything in writing so there was no confusion. Then they walked me through the order process and gave me an email with the tracking number so I
knew the next day when it was going to be delivered. Once I received it, I called and they immediately sent a professional installer out to install and train me on the unit. I am so impressed. I would recommend anybody looking for a copier to call Direct Source
Copiers.
Do not buy a copier from them-they'll just take your $
I was in the process of purchasing a copier from this outfit when my wife discovered a FRAUD ALERT for them on-line. They had already withdrawn over 500.00 from my credit card.
I called them and cancelled the order and was told twice they would refund the money back on to my card but they never did. Now I'm currently out over 500.00 and am hoping VISA will get my money back from these shysters. Othe people on line had even worse experiences than I did, for example one guy had multiple chargeson his credit card and no copier was sent. Other people complained of having received used equipment that was advertised as new.
. Avoid this"company" AT ALL COSTS
