My daughters car had an engine dash light on. I had the car diagnosed at a couple of other places, they all came back with the same code number which was P0420.
I took it into Direct Automotive Repairs and watched the mechanic diagnosed the car and he showed me graphs display and was told that the bottom sensor on the cat converter wasn't working. I was quoted $323 so booked the car in, had the job done. 4 days later the dash light came on again, so rang them, they said to bring the car in and they will check it. So I took the car in again, the head mechanic did another diagnostic on the car ( I wasn't watching this time) the head mechanic came into the office, and said to me that a power steering sensor had gone and was a coincidence, I asked how much to get repaired, he couldn't say, so that sent a red flag to me.
I waited for the dash light to come on again which it did, I took it somewhere else to get it diagnosed. It came up with the original error code so the head mechanic lied to my face so I went in and confronted them. The manager said he is not a liar and he said bring the car in again when the dash light comes on. When it did I took the car in had it scanned and showed the same code number, he said that the cat converter needs replacing and was $495 to replace.
I booked it in and when I got home I lifted the bonnet and noticed that they had actually changed the top sensor and not the bottom one that I was quoted for. Not only did they lied to my face but they repaired the wrong sensor. I have forked out over $300 for them to repair the wrong sensor...so I cancelled to have the cat converter installed.
I can't be bothered chasing them again, only getting the run around and will never go their again. Rather loose $300 than $800
Not only that he copied my review and posted it on another sight and giving it a 5 star...I don't even have an account with the website so he has falsified an account and used my name.
