Bought a mattress from DIAMOND MATTRESS from MATTRESS SHOWROOM and it sagged badly on one side because the seam split.
- - Bought a Diamond Mattress for about $1000.
- - Right-side sagged after a few months.
- - Warranty denied due to a stain; repair offered.
Well, I had to throw out the mattress and buy a new one from Nectar Mattress. It has been going well with no issues - thank goodness.
Well that's it for me. I'm out $1000.
I went to MATTRESS SHOWROOM in Cathedral City, CA in February to get a new mattress. My friend had bought a mattress there the previous month.
I was only looking to spend $400 - $500 as I had never spent that much before on a mattress and the previous one lasted 10 years. The salesman eventually up sold me to a DIAMOND MATTRESS that cost $1000! The bed was delivered and it was great for the first few weeks. At about the 2 month mark after receiving the bed the right hand side began to sag.
We didn't realize that the free return period was 60 days and did not do anything about it because it was not that bad. By the 5th month the sag had increased to an inch and a half and the length down the side had grown from about 2'' around 4'' and I was slipping off the mattress a little and my back was starting to hurt when I got out of bed in the morning. I contacted MATTRESS SHOWROOM and told them of the sagging and the salesman quickly said there was nothing they could do because it was past the 60 day mark. After a little back and forth he gave us the number for DIAMOND MATTRESS and said to contact them and see if we could have the mattress returned under warranty.
The conversation with the representative from DIAMOND MATTRESS was less than satisfying. At first he was not willing to do anything because it was past the 60 days and finally he agreed to looking at it under warranty. I had to take several photos and complete the warranty claim form and email it back. I heard nothing back from DIAMOND MATTRESS for several days and eventually called them.
Again after more discussion with same representative he said that he had to send out an independent inspector. The inspector did the same thing I had to do and he told me that the side seam had split and the insides were moving around! I waited for DIAMOND MATTRESS to get back to me, to no avail. I eventually had to call them and ask what was to happen next.
He told me that there was a small stain on the mattress which voided the warranty! There is a small mark on the mattress which is not quite 1'' long. I complained that there must be something they could do, eventually he said IF I could remove the stain and send a photo to them to prove that it was gone then they would not replace the mattress but repair it. I had to pay for shipping the mattress to and from them (100 miles away in LA!) That was just too expensive to do for a mattress that we could not guarantee would not split again.
Our friend who had also bought a mattress had his replaced for the same reason and the replacement also split at the side! I do not recommend either MATTRESS SHOWROOM or DIAMOND MATTRESS, save your money and shop elsewhere and buy a different mattress.
- Mattress is no good and the customer service is very lacking
Preferred solution: Full refund
