Spoke With Dirk and All was handled in a very professional way. I do understand that it was Dave Sutton the former owner that had caused the issues.

Yes boats are available if you want junk. They do have nice boats that they show you when you sign up, but you will never get them even way in advance.

Was tested and passed with flying colors on cruisers and small boats. Multiple boats broke down had to be towed by seatow. Notified them that I wanted to leave contract (was paid in full) due to the service of the boats and the choices that had been promised in the beginning of the contract. Sent me to collections for remainder of contract for 2,000.00.

This is not a way to do business.

Save your time and money. Stay away far far away.

Much better off doing fractional ownership

In response to this complaint that Mr. Curt Winter left, Destination Boat Clubs has been under new management and ownership since April 2014.

We apologize for the experience he had at that time. He is currently not a member of our club or has been since prior to 2014.

His evaluation based on his experience over 5 years ago does not reflect the actual quality of boats and service Destination Boat Clubs strives to attain currently. We feel this is a very unfair complaint and review.

Destination Boat Clubs - Membership Review from Naples, Florida

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My husband and I moved from Delaware to Cape Coral in June, 2016. We sold our boat before our move but intended to get one in Florida.

Once I realized how different boating was in Florida, we weren't sure about the type of boat that would work best since we love fishing but have kids so we wanted to try a few different types of boats. I researched boat clubs as an option to be able to see what type of boat to buy. Now we can't image leaving the club. Since we joined three months ago, there is a new pontoon and we are getting a Grady White in a few weeks.

The fleet has many options to choose from. The boats are kept in good shape. You do have to plan ahead but that's a small thing compared to all the perks this club has to offer. Captain Dave, John and Kim are like family!

Best decision we have ever made. Tarpon Point is a beautiful Marina!

Destination Boat Clubs Owner Review from Iona, Florida

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been a member of Destination Boat Clubs since February 2013. My experience with the club & its staff have been positive most every time! At times it is difficult to get a boat during high season but if you plan ahead I have been able to get a boat when I want one. I had an issue at the Naples location, but Derk responded to my concerns & the Capt. There has since been replaced.

Since the new owner, Derk, bought out his former partner the club & its fleets of boats have continued to improve. Derk has replaced most every 2-stroke motor with a 4-stroke - much quieter & better fuel economy. When I have emailed him regarding an issue he has been very prompt to reply.

I use the marina at Tarpon Point most often & Capt. Dave is AWESOME! He is attentive & helpful & always greets me with a smile. The marina itself is beautiful & the facilities are very nice. Derk continues to bring in newer boats & is adding pontoons to the fleet as well. A nice option for families & larger groups.

My only minor complaint is I would like to see more higher horsepower motors but I understand why there aren't any. There are many new boaters who are in the club & new boaters tend to run into things!!!

I am a snowbird & the boat club is the best option for me! I enjoy myself & the crew cleans it up & maintains it. I would join again today!!

Destination Boat Club Great people, good equipment, good location.

I have been a Destination Boat Club member since 3/2012. It has been a great experience for us.

I think the people including owners and staff really make the difference. I have have found them to be personable and professional. I feel confident that they will keep us safe on the water. We use the location at Tarpon Point Marina.

The facility is convenient and we have had really good experiences with the boats at the facility. We have used the Pro Liner 21 ft, and several of the Hurricane deck boats. Many of the boats are outfitted with Yamaha 150hp four stroke engines. This set up works well out in the inter coastal around Pine Island sound, Sanibel, Captiva, Cayo Costa and Cabbage Key.

The club also has boats outfitted with twin engines, but we have not used them. You can't please everyone.

I have seen a negative review and felt compelled to write a positive review. We have had a great experience.

Review in Cruises and Ships category from Fayetteville, Tennessee

I was recently driving in NC and a truck was riding my tail flashing his lights behind me then drove around behind me yelling and cussing. Then he swerved infront of me and slammed on brakes to "prove a point".

I had my hound child in the car with me and I was going 12 over the speed limit. Classy guy I assume but I would not do business with someone who acts like that in a situation that could have been very dangerous or even deadly.

Sounds like Dave Sutton, owner of Destination in Charlotte. Don't feel bad - that's how he treats everyone.

Destination Boat Clubs corporate location is in SW Florida and is not legally affiliated with the NC location. However, we apologize for the situation and the experience you encountered.

We will do our best to look into the problem and deal with the individual responsible for their behavior appropriately.

Destination Boat Club NAPLES fl don't join this club

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Last year I joined destination boat club off of north road in NAPLES fl. I was shown numerous boats that I could take out that were in a brochure I recieved from the sales person.

The pictures showed clean well equipped late model boats. It was raining the day I joined and the sales guy told me all the boats were put away. I paid my membership fee and joined. The boat I took "my test " in was a boat pictured in the brochure however it was faded and dirty.

The propeller was torn up and the boat not up to my standards to say the least. The guy that took me out for this ride assured me that that was the worst boat in the fleet and the others were better he promised. My job is unpredictable and I have few opportunities to go boating and was told by the management that that especially now ( the off season) there would never be any problem reserving a boat. Three attempts to reserve boats were answered by "not available" , two other times I reserved boats and was called the morning of my reservation to be told the boats were broke down.

The third time a reserved boat was broke down I freaked out and called the management. They told me they had a boat for me. It was a piece of ***. Ten years old, moldy safety equipment.

The key spun around in the dash making it difficult for the starter to engage. The engine stalled. I went to throw the anchor out and there was only 10 feet of tethered line making it useless. After playing with the key it started.

I was not happy as small children were with us and the boat should be safe right ? Last thing, while the engine ran, the gimbal bearing ......obviously bad made so much noise that I could tell it was in need of replacement long before I used this boat. To rap it up here, I got to use one piece of *** boat in six months at a cost of three grand. Could never get the owner "Dirk" to call me back but he finally did when I cancelled my credit card.

He told me everything was bad timing and blah blah blah. Never offered me anything to remedy the situation. They oversold the membership for the amount of boats they have and don't take care of the boats they do have. I'm an experienced boater and know what's reasonable and what's not.

I should have taken this guy to court, but why spend more money.

He actually told me that I was in the wrong canceling a half year early and to read the contract. Don't go to this place....ripoffs
