No warranty
- - Gifted product stopped in recline after 3 mo; warranty voided for discounted sale; I must pay for repair; company does not stand behind warranty.
Do not buy this companys product. I received as a gift.
Three months later, it was stuck in mid recline. I contacted the company and they referred me to the retailer who said the warranty was voided because of a discounted sale. Im now responsible for the repair. I contacted the repair company provided and have yet to hear back.
If you buy a car from Ford or a refrigerator from Lowes and you take advantage of an advertised sale, it doesnt somehow void the manufactures warranty or with any reputable company that stands behind the product they manufacture. Design 2 recline does not stand behind their product or warranty.
User's recommendation: Do not buy any products from this company.

Cheap made
- - Arms collapsed after about a month.
- - A technician said the arm frame is cardboard.
- - We paid a lot and feel it's not quality furniture.
We had this furniture for about a month and the arms collapsed, called customer service and technician came out and said the arm Frame is made of cardboard ! We paid a lot for this, not quality furniture. The area that gets the most stress is cardboard???

Verified ReviewerOperation in a power failure
- - Loves the Uph-recliner’s size and quality with power headrest.
- - Power loss leaves wife unable to exit; needs a way to rise.
NOT A PISSED CUSTOMER, just need an answer to the issue stated below. Love size and quality of recliner. Purchased Uph-recliner- power and power headrest from Infinger Furniture here in Charleston, SC few weeks ago. Wife is partially handicaped. She cannot get out of the chair if lost power due to storm the other day. Had to call me to assist her. Is there any method to get if back upright and not reclined in power loss?
She loves the chair and fabric but can see this could be a problem if no one is around to help her out if power goes off and is reclined.

Just received a response from Designer 2Recliner on 6/7/2021....I took out an extended warranty through Montage Furniture....So Designer2 is not standing behind their shabby workmanship.....Montage made a cash offer , that was extremely a joke ...Said Designer2 replacement was 6 months behind , which Designer2 verified it ....Consumers beware Designer2Recliners do not stand behind their products
Received 2 brand new #1643 Power Recliners in February 2020....They are now unraveling at the seams on the cushions ....I cant believe this ....Extremely upset ....These were not cheap at all ....
- Damaged furniture

User's recommendation: Rethink your purchase of buying anything from them ...Unless they are going to stand behind their product ....

Verified ReviewerInferior product
- - Two power rocker recliners bought about four years ago.
- - Appearance faded; retailer didn't disclose coverage; manufacturer won't repair or replace.
Bought two power rocker recliners approximately 4 years ago. The material on the arms and head rest has lost the color and is wearing through.
The retailer sold us a service contract but forgot to point out that appearance was not covered.
Now after several months working with retailer the manufacturer "no longer has the same material or color" to repair and both retailer and manufacturer refuse to either replace or attempt to repair. No more buying from this retailer and will avoid this manufacturer.
- Customer service
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Think twice before buying.

Verified ReviewerRefund on living room set
- - Purchased Mar; arrived Jun with recline seat issues; Design2Recline offers full credit for loveseat; half for couch; Frizzel's covers difference.
We have had numerous problems with a set we purchased last March.(received middle of June) recline system not working, seats breaking, lumber intermittent , etc. Yesterday the store called and Design2recline is giving us full credit on loveseat and half credit on couch.
Frizzel's Furniture felt so bad they are making up the difference.
They are going beyond expectations even if Design2Recine wouldn't completely stand behind their product. Hurray for Frizzels and BOO to Design2Recline.
- Furniture breaking numerous times
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: They don't stand behind their product 100%.
Loveseats
- - Right lumbar support still fails after two Frizzel's fixes; left side works.
- - Customer is frustrated and waiting; hasn't filed online complaint yet.
I sent an email earlier today about our living room set and all the problems we've had. I forgot to mention the lumbar support on the right side, Frizzel's has fixed it twice and it still doesn't work as well as the left side one.
This set is apiece of junk!!! What are you going to do about it. I am tired of waiting.
I haven't filled out a complaint on line yet (is that what you want me to do? It won't be pretty.)

Poor product from the start and seller not helpful
- - Love seat failed from the start and was fixed by drilling into the frame.
- - Cushions wear; couch sits lower and the mechanism button sticks.
Bought recliner ,couch, and love seat 3 years ago the love seat was bad from the start would catch and pop when going up and down. Store came out to fix (would not replace).
Solution was to drill screw into the frame!
The cushion is breaking down in the recliner and couch.
The couch cushion sits 2 inches lower than the rest and the mechanism button sticks. Will never buy this product again nor will I ever shop at Riley’s furniture they raved about this product
Design2Recline Makes Trash. DO NOT BUY!!!
- - Leather wear and cushion splits appeared after about 1.5 years.
- - One reclining mechanism failed; dealer suggested buying new furniture.
Bought power reclining love seat and sofa 3 years ago. Has leather where you sit/touch.
At about 1.5 years we noticed separations and splitting on the sides of cushions. We also have had issues with one reclining mechanism. We are both 63 and have no children at home. Our previous leather couches lasted 14 years and are still being used in our son's house.
We are incredibly disappointed and feel we have 'lemons'. We tried to resolve this through the dealer, but their solution involved us purchasing new furniture. We do not have thousands of dollars to do this, nor do we think furniture at this price point should have so many problems at 3 years.
Design2Recline passed the buck too and could care less that they make trashy furniture. DO NOT BUY!!!
Preferred solution: Replace the couches

DEFECTIVE LEATHER - DON'T BUY
- - Purchased a room of Design2Recline leather furniture.
- - After 3 years, 2 seats peeled and the warranty is 1 year.
We purchased an entire room of Design2Recline leather furniture. We love the comfort and look of the furniture.
We have had the furniture for 3 years. The leather on 2 of the seats has started peeling and looks like leather furniture that is 10+ years old. The furniture store where we bought this from said the leather is warrantied only for 1 year. That kind of warranty is pathetic.
We will never buy another piece of Design2Recline furniture.
Not very much can go wrong with leather in 1 year. We have had other leather furniture that has worn better in 10 years than this has in 1 year.
Design 2 Recline Customer Care Review
- - Furniture did not match the floor model.
- - I was unable to contact the company for a month.
- - Customer service was zero.
Furniture i purchased was not same as floor model. Have been trying for over a month to talk to someone from the company and there is no way to contact them.
They refuse to contact me. Horrible furniture, ZERO customer service.
Furniture was delivered defective and/or damaged. Retailer is refusing to deliver new furniture in good condition, as ordered and paid for.
- - Defective delivery Apr 7, 2014; Doughty's would not deliver a replacement.
- - Replacements delivered 6/23, 10/20, 12/8/14; pickup 12/22/14.
The attached pics are of the love seat that was delivered December 8, 2014.
We ordered a new living room set manufactured by Design 2 Recline (AKA) Southern Motion on January 20, 2014. Defective and/or damaged furniture was delivered on April 7, 2014.
The seams were pulling apart, exposing the white inner material. Doughty's Furniture requested that we temporarily accept the furniture for inspection and guaranteed a brand new replacement set. Doughty's wanted to examine the furniture to determine if it was defective or damaged during shipping. As a result, we TEMPORARILY accepted the furniture and discarded our old set because of space limitations.
Defective and/or damaged replacement furniture was delivered on June 23, 2014, October 20, 2014 and December 08, 2014. Doughty's is now refusing to deliver new furniture in good condition as ordered and paid for; which is not requiring reconditioning. Furthermore, Doughty's has scheduled pick up of the living room set for December 22, 2014. I reminded Nancy, the Customer Service Rep for Doughty's, that we had to discard our old furniture to comply with their request of accepting the first defective and/or damaged living room set back on April 7, 2014.
Nancy told me that Doughty's was not concerned with how this situation was going to affect our holidays and refused to delay the pick up until after the New Years holiday.
I contacted Customer Service at Design 2 Recline (AKA) Southern Motion at 662-488-**** on December 12, 2014. I spoke to a person who identified herself as Donna at Customer Service. Donna confirmed that Design 2 Recline and Southern Motion are the same company and that they go by different names at the various retailers.
Donna did some research and could not find any documentation that mentioned our name, location or Doughty's Furniture ordering a replacement set in our model and fabric. Donna stated that if Doughty's Furniture would take the appropriate steps with Design 2 Recline (AKA) Southern Motion, that we would receive a brand new living room set that would be in an acceptable condition to us. Unfortunately, she advised that their company policy is not to deal directly with the customer, regardless if the retailer is part of the problem.
No further assistance was offered by Design 2 Recline (AKA) Southern Motion.
- Delivery was on time
- Great job assembling furniture
- Complaining about costs to resolve
- Defective or damaged furniture
- No concern 4 inconveniences caused
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

You said this is a gift, what the person who purchased didn't tell you was.. They got a nice deal because the store was clearing out old junk they wanted off the books.
I'm sure it doesn't have a warranty on discontinued or clearance merchandise. Go thank the person who gave you this gift.
