HORRIBLE PEOPLE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Always problems with these people flood in the house and no hot water for 8 days now but they make sure they get rent on time. DO NOT rent from this company they’re horrible liars who are money hungry.

Just today they told the owners of the house that we rent though that we’re bad tendants don’t pay rent or late fees or call when theirs issues. We have receipts and this is becoming a large issue where I believe that race is the reason for the lies and poor treatment.

I’m glad they treat their service members so poorly being as they pretend to thank their veterans every Veterans Day to give us false hoa accusations, somethings always wrong and they never respond when you try to fix the issue. Maybe a law suit will fix the issue.

Thank you very much for the feedback. This information is valuable is Desert Wide Properties continuing to improve its training, as well as both the products and the services it provides.

Desert Wide Properties continues to take this type of information and review the facts and details surround it, then step back and assess what we could have done better. Regarding the hot water you referenced, in reading the notes and documentation, it does appear that due to the size of the expense and the extent of the repair (slab leak), we did make multiple attempts to contact the Owner of the property for both approval and additional funds. It is unfortunate, but you are correct, it took 8 days for the Owner to respond and remit the additional funds to make this repair. Since Desert Wide Properties is contracted by the Owner, we are sometimes at the mercy of the Owners and their responsiveness, as are the Tenants.

In addition, as a son of a Vietnam veteran who passed away just three years ago, as a direct result of his exposure to Agent Orange, I have a tremendous appreciation and respect for the services and sacrifices made by any armed forces member and their families.

Thank you to you and yours. I hope this helps explain some of the issues referenced in the review and if there is anything I can do to assist, or if you feel you need to express and positives or concerns, please feel free to contact me, Mark Wilkinson.

Rip off Artist!!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Rented from them for a year ... they failed to tell me that the owner planned on moving back after the end of the lease so they sent a notice 2 months prior to end of lease that wld need to vacate....

1 month later after I found a new place they contacted me asking why I was moving and that they wanted to renew the lease ... then when I moved out took them over a month to issue my deposit when Arizona law says they have 14 days to issue deposit ... on top of that they deducted from my deposit $88 for light bulbs ... that is not considered property damage ...

I contacted them several times and they refused to respond...emailed called and all but showed up on their office and made a scene and they still didn't respond to the absurd amount because light bulbs wouldn't cost that even if they were purchased odd the shelf for two houses worth ...

don't rent from them ... rip off artist !!!!'

Thank you for your review. This feedback allows Desert Wide Properties to research the events and factors that contributed to your comments, in order to improve our customer service and to determine if we made an optimal effort to resolve the dispute.

Our daily goal is to be better than the day before.

After reading the notes and speaking with staff, in regards to the notification and non-renewal, it has been determined that your matter was processed by a relatively new property manager and her inexperience was reflected in how this was originally handled, also contributing to the lack of effective communication. I want to apologize for any frustrations you may have experienced as a result of this, and again, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Additional training is being introduced with the property managers in an attempt to prevent this type of occurrence from happening in the future.

In regards to refunding the security deposit, I did find documentation that shows you vacated the property on 05/05/17 and the balance of your security deposit, less any charges for maintenance or repairs, was refunded to you on 05/24/17. Upon disputing the charge for the missing light bulbs, a revision was completed and an additional refund of $86.66 was issued on 06/28/17.

Thus, it does appear that the original refund was within the 14 business days as mandated by the AZ Department of Real Estate.

We want you to know that your feedback is extremely valuable to Desert Wide Properties and it will assist us in becoming more focused on the staff, how they follow procedure and communicate during the vacating process, and improving conflict resolution. Again, I want to apologize for how the process was executed and agree that it should have been handled in a way that would have lead to more productive results.

I sincerely hope you will agree that this matter has been resolved and will indicate so on this review.

Desert Wide Property is HORRIBLE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I did not rent from them... I applied, was approved, and when I asked them to fix a very tricky lock on an exterior door and exposed wiring in the kitchen light fixture they said they would probably not do it.

Then I read the contract. On my first visit to the property I found rat droppings everywhere in the apartment so they did pest control. Agent told me they paid for a complete cleaning. However, an addendum to the contract specified that the property had NOT been cleaned, and must be accepted in AS IS condition (with non-functioning exterior lock, exposed wiring, and rodent residue!?).

Furthermore I would be held accountable for thorough cleaning regardless of condition in which I found it. This made me wonder, who are these people? So I searched the interwebs and found they had the worst possible rankings from BBB, Google, Yelp, etc. I thought, "maybe it's just the haters." So, I asked them about it, at the same time I asked about the addendum.

So, instead of addressing the bad reviews and providing proof of cleaning they said they declined to rent to ME! I have a credit score high 700s, money in the bank, and a good job. Hm, maybe it was because I asked too many questions they couldn't answer?

Do yourself a favor and navigate away from Desert Wide Properties. They should not be in business treating people this way.

Thank you for your comment. I want to extend Desert Wide Properties sincere apologies for the experience you encountered when applying for a property to lease.

This does not sound indicative of our normally high standard of customer service. In spite of the reviews, we continually strive to listen to our clientele and improve our performance, each and every day. We have recently launched an increase in the number of surveys to our tenants and introduced upper management inspections of our properties, to review the condition of the properties and the quality of work performed by our vendors.

Although I am not familiar with which specific property you are referring to, occasionally we do have Owners who elect to do minimal or no additional repairs and will only allow us to do maintenance or repairs with their prior approval. Thus, we are forced to list it in "As-Is" condition.

Truly, that is the only explanation I can demise from what you stated, where repairs would not be done to the lock and wiring, but then agree to do the pest control.

Again, since I do not know which property we are referring to, I am unable to pull the application or inquiry with the Agents on how this was handled, and why it was declined. I am always interested in feedback and improving our operations.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to share further, so I may address this situation and make sure that we avoid this scenario from happening again through improved communication.

HORRIBLE company and horrible service. Do yourself a HUGE favor and avoid renting any kind of property from those clowns. They do NOT care, they do NOT reply, they do NOT repair what needs to be repair and if they do- it takes 2 months. they just want you to pay rent and shut up. The way they treat tenants is outrages. I cant describe how bad was my experience with them! They made my renting period at that house the worse period of my life. I'm so glad i do not rent from them any more and i advise no one to rent through them.

All the bad reviews here about this company are 100% true. those people are clowns and they have no clue what they are doing.

Horrible company !! Please stay away from their properties!

As long as Lori is not there (both of them), you might have a chance to get better. I am traumatize until today just b/c of her actions, or should i say lack of actions.

But hey, as long as she kept the owner happy.

Who cares about the tenant... at least that's the spirit DW had then.Thank you.

Desert Wide Properties House Rental Review from Phoenix, Oregon

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Let's see...where do I start?

When I moved in I did my inspection and turned it in as I was supposed to. There was a water stain on the roof of one bedroom and in a closet in the living room.

Months later I called because they were getting worse. I had to wait until the owner ok'd it. It took another month. Then another month went by before they sent someone out! They tried to blame me for not mentioning the old "damage" when I moved in. I told them to refer to my inspection I submitted when I moved in. That was finally found weeks later after I offered them my copy ;)

After many complaints, no one ever fixed the damage. Many rains later, it got worse. I gave up. Basically, I lived in a mild ridden house.

I called two months before I moved out telling them I had to move out a month before my year lease was up and left a message with the front office because I had lost my job and could not afford to live there any longer. Left another message a week later on an after hours machine.

No calls back.

A few months after I moved out I moved to another state and decided to follow up. I left 3 VERY detailed messages on a voicemail asking someone to call me back so that I know I have no monies owed.

NO CALL BACK.

Today, I went to check my credit report and see that I owe them over $5000!

I have every e-mail I sent complaining about the damage and mold along with the original inspection I turned in. This is also going to be submitted to BBB.

Thank you for your review. Positive or negative, we value them all and appreciate the feedback so we may continue to monitor and improve all levels of our customer service and performance.

It sounds as though we largely failed in our communication, which is an extremely critical part of our business. It is true that on occasion, we are delayed in reaching out to the Owner of the property and receiving approval to spent the funds or additional funds for repairs, even more so when an Owner is out of the country, but the need to communicate should not be lessened by that fact.Desert Wide Properties went through a major transition with the passing of its active owner and Broker in early 2015 and that may have played into the confusion.

We have made a significant number of changes to further improve our performance, including communication and better interaction with our Tenants and their needs. I hope you would give us another opportunity to see how we have made improvements.Thank you again for this opportunity.

Thank you for your review. We value each one submitted.

I do apologize for your experience and if it was a negative one. Desert Wide Properties has been in the valley almost 40 years and is traditionally one of the largest single-family residential property management companies in the State. We have had at times, as few as two agents handling the leasing and applications but Desert Wide Properties has significantly more than two staff members in the various departments of Property Managers, Accounting, Maintenance, Leasing Agents, New Management Agents and Sales Agents. It sounds as though the largest concern is effective communication. If you experienced charges that you are uncertain as to what they are for, then our staff did not effectively communicate why you were being charged.

We have worked diligently to monitor and implement changes that we feel would improve out communication with Owners and Tenants.

as well as allow feedback through such items as surveys. I truly hope you will allow us to provide a service to you again to show the changes we have made.Thank you again.

ABSOLUTELY CROOKED BUSINESS

They ask you to complete a move in inspection form but when you move out (after 5 YEARS) they don't consider ANY of the notes you made regarding the condition of the property. I had to have the carpet replaced AFTER my move in date due to the condition!

I cannot believe homeowners entrust their asset to these crooked people!

I would highly recommend you find another reputable company to use to manage your rental otherwise you will lose money. Also I would advise a renter to INSIST on doing a move in walk through with a member of staff.

Thank you for your review. Desert Wide Properties strides to provide the highest level of customer service and performance possible.

We continue to implement new processes and procedures to accomplish this goal. In spite of this continued effort, other factors may hinder this attempt to provide maximum satisfaction. Human error is one, also whether an Owner will approve the expense, which at times may appear that Desert Wide Properties is holding up maintenance or repairs.

Regardless, it is never our desire to provide or create a negative experience.I do apologize for the experience you encountered. We will continue to monitor and work toward greater levels of services, including a variety of surveys now sent to the tenant at move-in, move-out and any interim maintenance or repairs.Thank you again for providing this feedback.

Upset with Desert Wide properties

This company does not care about the people or families

That rent from them! They have really bad attitudes,I'm am

Very sorry I rented a house from them!! It's a real shame that they

think and feel its ok to run a business this way. Management should consider giving their staff people skills and ethics training. Anybody looking to do business with this company should be aware of their schemes. Staff are also never reachable never willing to go the extra mile to satisfy their customer or buyer. Desert wide properties should have the state review the hundreds of complaints perspective home buyers or renters that are getting taken for by their false appreciation of their customefr service. And don't forget they will charge you for everything

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Desert Wide Properties is much more in tune with the level of customer service and performance that we provide.

A constant eye is on our staff and receiving feedback, such as the various surveys we now send out to Tenants in order to evaluate how our staff or vendors are conducting themselves. One continual area of concern is communication and what we do with it.

We have different management and different staff than from 2013. I hope you would see a way to allow us to provide your rental needs again so we may show you the improvements.Thank you again.

Overhaul needed

I am not sure if Prayer power would help desert wide properties but anything is worth a try.... Some of the people over there sound like voice-over actors/actresses when they answer the phone,, and unfortunately not very helpful.

,what can victims of desert wide properties do if prayer does not help the situation?,,maybe a victim can try to organize which issues fall under what categories,,, and find out what agencies or departments cover those categories,,,. For instance the person listed over there for their "designated broker",, doesn't that person need to be accountable for some of the situations?

How do people check with the AZ Department of Realty?, besides the BBB - ,. Does the Attorney General Office help with any of this?

Desert Wide Properties

Stay away from Desert Wide Properties. I am not sure that any other company in any business sector has as many deranged employees that work at/ and run the daily operations. The owners and management are just as deranged as the employees.

I can't imagine what their hiring practices must consist of because a climate like this can't possibly fall into place by itself, it would need to be created. After being subjected to Desert Wide Properties and looking at reviews, I can tell you if you EVER see any good review about them, it was printed by one of their employees or someone connected to them.

Desert Wide Properties value deranged employee behavior and unethical business practices to a point that its their company "culture", they pride themsevles on it.

Thank you for your review. I want to apologize for your experience.

Desert Wide Properties insist on a culture of strong customer service and performance, which should flow down from Ownership, to Management, to Staff. Historically, there may have been some staff that did not take this form of culture to heart, but rest assure, anything less than a conviction to superior customer service is not acceptable. We work diligently to monitor, through surveys and communication with our Owners and Tenants, to keep a thumb on how we are performing in general and intervene when necessary. We are not always perfect, but we try create more positive experiences than negative. We believe the fact that we come in contact or service hundred Owners and Tenants each year and there are only 13 comments on this website is indication of that intent.

Current management is very focused on improving the culture that you speak of and conveying that culture out to everyone the business comes in contact with.I want to thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate your it greatly.

As an owner, I am horrified to read about the experiences of some of tenants of DWP that are all over the Internet. Please don't think this owner has had it any easier with them, just aggravated in different ways. With our unit in Villagio, they can't send repair people out fast enough and bill the owner for the charge and I don't even know about it til

I get my monthly statement. If the a/c malfunctions, of

Course I want it running for my tenants. But if the sink backs up

Because the tenant puts stuff down it, why is the owner responsible? April franklin actually told me she would ask the tenants if they mind paying half. Also our tenants have under paid the rent for 2 mos and we find out via the monthly statement. Is April

In to answer my call? NOPE! DWP absolutely useless !'n

We are STILL in one of their places and can't STAND them! They took almost TWO months to fix a leak in our ceiling. Told us that we have a $200 credit we can use for food during that time (leak was in the kitchen and we were told that we would not have access to it).

We thought we were being smart and did not want to take advantage of our landlord's money so we thought Ok we can grill, microwave and toaster oven stuff so lets get some groceries cook stuff the night before they come to fix the kitchen and put stuff in the cooler or in our chest freezer that was not in the kitchen area.

We only spent $126, $60.00 on groceries the rest on days when they were actually fixing it went out to eat.

They declined to pay us for groceries stating that we had NO WAY to cook the food and the money was earmarked for out to eat! They did not say that in the beginning they said FOOD budget. WHen we tried to explain what we tried to do they interrupted us and said WE ARE NOT BUDGING! And IF that is the case then we should have gotten A LOT more $$ for out to eat I mean REALLY 2 months and $200 is NOT enough to go out to eat for sure.

I have been called a liar to my face over something that two weeks before they actually told ME what was supposed to be done.

We we told to STOP bothering them with questions on out maintenance issue because it slows them down.

STAY AWAY!! They are terrible

DESERT WIDE PROPERTIES FATAL MISTAKE

I think the employees of Desert Wide Properties must be overworked and underpaid. Their attitudes show it. You can bet that this trickles right on to the manager and the owners of the company (most likely stingy).

Every time I tried to speak to a property manager, I had been transferred to a new one. You know what that means "huge turn over" because the employees are not treated right. Employees do not leave a company when they are well compensated and treated fairly.

I don't blame the employees, I blame management. Very bad management. Hence, if you cannot manage your employees, you cannot manage properties.

BIG LOOSER!

By the time I left the company, I had gone through 6 managers and many mistakes because of it. That is too bad. I feel for the employees.

Desert Wide Properties appreciates your feedback. We are very concerned with our performance and how we provide customer service, to Owners, Tenants and even with our staff.

We hold our staff in the highest level of respect. We understand the concept that turn over, not only cost Desert Wide Properties money in training and productivity, but also creates a negative connotation with all those involved with our Company. You will on occasion, have staff that is not performing to the level of expectation, and unfortunately, in order to provide a greater level of service, you must eliminate that individual and start all over with a new Property Manager. This is done to improve service and not a result of poor management. In addition, Property Managers will be periodically caught in between a disgruntled Owner or Tenant (typically due to money), which can be both awkward and stressful.

Over a period of time, they elect to move on or relocate within Desert Wide Properties. We have great respect for our staff and their responsibilities, and do everything in our power to show them the appreciation daily.Again, thank you for your review. We always appreciate the feedback and will use it to continue to improve and grow.
