I was a total skeptic, but Dependable Auto ended up providing a flawless experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Dependable Auto and William were fantastic. I was very concerned about shipping my car and the process overallI did a lot of research and saw how shady and sketchy the business of flatbedding a car is.

Initially, I felt those same concerns about shipping with Dependable; its another small company that handles the brokering, and I had read some (old) not-so-flattering reviews. After speaking with two past customers of Dependable, however, I decided to go with them.

Overall, the experience went just about flawless. William was very personable and super responsive, and he kept us in the loop throughout each stage. In fact, after we agreed to go with him, he promised to find us a driver that would fit our dates, but he assured us that hed vet the driver and ensure we get someone good.

I learned that in shipping cars, you could pay a broker top dollar, but if the driver/car carrier is bad, it makes the whole experience bad. So, William found us a great car carrierhe showed up right in the time window he was supposed to, loaded up the car and did the pickup inspection, and he delivered the car right on time and did a drop off inspection. It went flawlessly. William contacted us each step of the way, and he personally contacted the car carrier company for us multiple times to ensure everyone was aligned.

Overall just a flawless experience.

William made this super personable, if there was ever a concern he addressed it, and the move was pretty fairly priced. 10/10 recommend

Transparency was great

Matt explained the process to me, explained how payment worked, and how the service worked. They assigned a carrier relatively quickly, no issues.

Overall, it was a great experience. Would recommend.

Very Poor Communications and with 6 Weeks Notice Unable to Schedule Transport

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Dependable Auto Move - Very Poor Communications and with 6 Weeks Notice Unable to...

In May I used a site to get estimates to transport a vehicle from VA to OR to be picked up on July 8th. I was contacted by "Dependable" (not so much) Auto Move (DAM) in late May and I reached out to them in early June to ask a couple of questions.

A Senior Transport Coordinator (POC#1), who sent me the quote, answered my questions and I said I was interested in scheduling this transport. I emailed, then tried to call his number several times and left messages, but no further response.

After several days I called the DAM 800 number on June 15 and got POC#2. I explained that I couldn't get a hold of POC#1. POC#2 looked up my file and saw the pick-up and drop-off information.

I told POC#2 that if it helps with scheduling flexibility that the carrier could pick-up the vehicle anytime between 7/5 and 7/8 (original request was just 7/8). After working it for a few minutes he said that the carrier wouldn't drive to the coast (where my home is) from I-5. After considering options I gave him my Sisters address and contact info in Eugene, OR. I was not happy that I would now have to arrange to have someone drive with me the 9 hours round trip to go pick it up.

POC#2 said that he would contact me on or before June 27th/28th with the drivers info and pick-up details. He said that the schedules aren't usually done until the week before the pick-up.

I did not hear from POC#2 on 6/27 or 28 as previously stated so on 6/29 I called and talked to POC#2. He said he was waiting to hear back from a couple of carriers. Not hearing from POC#2, I called him at approx 11:20 am on 7/6.

He said the driver is dropping off in Baltimore area today (7/6). Will then pick-up in the DC/NVA area. Should get a 2-3 hour heads up.

On 7/7 I called POC#2's number and got a 3rd POC who could not help me, not sure why POC#2's number rolled to POC#3. Called POC#2 several time and left a message (his VM rang to dispatch) on the second try.

Called POC#1 as well (twice) and got VM. Called the 800 number @1705 and actually got connected to POC#1 on that number. He looked things up and identified the assigned carrier. He thought it looked like they were scheduled for the next day (7/8).

He said POC#2 would have more details. He called POC#2 who told POC#1 that he was on the phone with a few carriers and when he was done he would call me. POC#2 told POC#1 that the planned carrier hadn't updated their insurance info so DAM couldn't use them. POC#2 never called me.

POC#1 sent me an email late on 7/7 to say they were working on it.

On 7/8. the day of the requested pick-up, I got an email From POC#1 at 8.26am EST saying they were working on it that morning (7/8). Didn't hear anything so at 1:30 pm EST I sent POC#1 a message (never did get POC#2's email) asking how it was going and what the major road blocks were for carriers. POC#1 replied by email at 1:47 pm EST to say there were currently only 2 vehicles listed for a similar route.

That was the last I heard from them.

It is hard to believe that with 6 weeks notice that DAM couldn't find and schedule a carrier to transport my vehicle. Worse yet is the total lack of communications to let me know what was going on. I, the CUSTOMER, had to attempt to contact DAM (POC#1 and POC#2) at every step. Add to that DAM providing a quote to deliver my vehicle to my new residence in OR and then say "the carrier" wouldn't drive to the coast.

My town is on Hwy 101 which transits from southern CA to WA along the coast and gets transited by hundreds of 18-wheelers daily. Throughout this experience with DAM the lack of communication, lack of ability to schedule a carrier given 6 weeks notice, and not being able to actually deliver to the address originally requested has resulted in a severe negative impact on me personally. The experience had left me to conclude that DAM is unprofessional, NOT supportive of their customers, and seems to have a total lack of business ethics. High fuel prices and labor challenges (staff and drivers) is no excuse for treating a customer like I was treated.

I have recently retired from a long career in Senior Program Management which included logistics, I HIGHLY recommend DAM evaluate it's internal processes, training, and business goals to see if my experience is the type of business model DAM wants. If not, then make immediate changes NOW.

Anything but dependable

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Carrier never arrived and was unresponsive the day of pick up, called the next day and wouldn't accommodate requested pick up location even though it was from the same distance they were coming from. After they picked up the car they were unresponsive for ETA's, car was scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday but did not arrive until Friday. Multiple lies and excuses from the carrier (supposedly had three different flat tires, one of the cars would not start, broken air bag, could not answer phone because they were in the hospital, etc..)

NOT dependable auto move

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I hired Dependable Auto Move, LLC to transport 2 vehicles from the east coast to the west coast on the 15th of May. Matt agreed to that date.

I flew from Washington State to North Carolina and drove 430 miles specially for this transport. On the 15th of May, no one came nor called the 2 phone numbers I gave to Matt. He texted and emailed me on the 17th to say the driver was trying to get in contact with me but had to leave with another load. Matt then asked if we could we set up another time.

I gave him the 20th and 21st of May and he again failed. He failed to call and he failed to text, I had to call him for an update on whether he found a driver. Getting ready for another deployment, I had to leave my car on the east coast and fly back to the west coast, still willing to work with Matt at Dependable Auto Move. I texted him on the 22nd of May stating “ if I cannot find someone to pass along my car by the week’s end, give me a refund”.

He immediately issues a refund. I asked for a refund on the 23rd of May and he stated he had already refunded $100 but he owed the driver, that never came or called, $100 for the dry run. The apologies I received from Matt on behalf of Un-Dependable Auto Move were drenched in blame. I can care less about the $100 they stole from me, but I do care that I planned this trip, paid $2800 to fly my family to the East coast to hand over my cars and they had the nerve to blame me for their mistakes.

I bought a cell phone specifically for this transaction and Matt called it once on the 20th of April when Dependable Auto Move was trying to get my business. If you deal with this company make sure your phone has detailed billing, record every call between you two, and be extremely flexible.

They will not stop emailing me. They have been vulgar, belligerent, name calling, etc.

I have unsubscribed and ask them to stop emailing me several times. They keep coming in, each one worse than before. Matt is VERY unprofessional! Worst company I have ever dealt with in all my years.

This business is run from his HOUSE and if you check around you will find NOTHING but bad reviews on this guy and his shady fly by night company. Its a wonder he is still in business and no one has had him shut down.

NEVER deal with these people, its a joke! He is a BROKER that posts to Central Dispatch, he doesn't do anything for you but sub out to the lowest bidder so he can get more of your money.

Stay away from these guys

Total shell game. High pressure sale, then they hand off to bulk transporter.

No tracking info and terrible communication. Car arrived ~30 days later. They promised a week and charged extra for expedited service. Not a company you want to deal with.

My experience was very similar to others: I cannot say a single positive word about this company.Matt Santinello promised a pickup date of 1/24/17. That did not happen and he assured me the driver was on his way. He promised to call me right back and to date I have not heard a word from him. I called the direct number and William Blair assured me that was not how they do business and "looked it up" while I waited.

He told me that a driver was assigned but had not checked in recently and he would call me within the hour with the drivers phone number. Days later, I'm still waiting and they will not answer my phone calls. They are aware that the vehicle was purchased from a federal agency and I am dealing with a strict time limit to remove the vehicle from their property. I am now subject to daily fees.

I cannot comprehend how a company can be so universally disreputable and dishonest with their customers. Would I recommend them? *** no! William actually told me that Matt had misinformed me and a driver was never assigned.

He then went as far as asking me to pay an additional $50 and would call me right back. Again, that was several days ago. It is apparent that this is their normal business practice and have no problem lying to get your credit card number. What a nightmare!

My advice; AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. DEPENDABLE AUTO MOVE? Absolutely not. As you all know, I cannot even hire another company because my name and location are in the nation wide "system", so nobody else will even talk to me unless I can get "off the board".

The Worst so called company

Do NOT use these scam artists. Promised a pickup date, missed deadline and said truck broke down.

Not so "dependable".. "Matt" stated that the axle on the truck was broke and needed repair. Then we asked to cancel our truck due to expired time frame and he challenged us to do so. I hope that no has to deal with these fools like we had too.

Moving is stressful enough but to deal with people like this is over the top. Saving money is a good thing but not getting enough quotes and going with the cheapest option is not always the best solution.

Promised refund, then reneged! Shady as ***

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Dealt with William Blair to ship my car from NYC to Miami. The driver they (DAM) contracted with called the night before to say he would pick up the car around 11am, I reminded him I was an hour away from the parking garage and would need a phone call when he was an hour out.

(So, should hear from him by 10a) At 11:30 am, I called the driver, he was still an hour or 2 away. At 2:10, I called William telling him of my frustration and had him call the driver. At 2:30, I call the driver again, asking him where he was. He now says that he is on his way to Queens and won't be to my parking garage in Manhattan for an hour and one half or so.

At 2:40, I called William again, "You never called the driver did you", no, he hadn't gotten to it yet. Meanwhile, a driver from a second company calls me, he's 45 minutes from the parking garage. Another transport company, had mistakenly let my quote be booked without confirmation or payment information from me. I call William and tell him I have no idea when his driver is really going to show, and I have a truck that will actually be able to pick my car up within the hour.

I ask William for a refund. He says yes, mentioning it may take a day or so to process. I firm up details with the other transport company before heading to the garage. On my way out I call William again to ask for an email confirmation of my refund, my gut telling me I needed this in writing, my guy also told me to record the conversation.

Matt Santinello answers the phone, I tell him I need to speak to William about a time sensitive situation. He is unable to find William, but could he, Matt, help. I tell him my story and that I want email confirmation of my refund. He says I should have it within an half hour.

I head to the subway. 45 minutes later, as I walk to the garage, I call William again, where was my email confirmation? It was forthcoming he said. (Also recorded.) The new driver is waiting for me at the garage.

The car is quickly inspected and loaded. All is good, until 20 minutes later when I get an email from Matt denying my refund. (Once he knew from their database, that my car was picked up by the other carrier.) Phone calls only get me the verbal runaround. Shady and Deceitful Auto Move (Not even Movers, just move ...

should have been my first clue!) Have a lawyer in the family, so am pursuing legal action as well as disputing the charge. Phone recordings will come in handy. Avoid.

Avoid. Avoid
