No communication between David Arthur Carpenter, lawyer , and Robert D. Steffey, client, since 6/12 has happened.

Robert D. Steffey offered a very reasonable proposal to the lawyer and neither he or his IT specialist has acknowledged the proposal or defended me opposing SMG customer service requests.

No resolution has been made, including deposits made to my home bank account.

Original review Jun 26, 2025
I hired David Arthur Carpenter, lawyer, (L.N. 251264) with Dentons Global Law Firm to recover my scam- lost money of $23,177.

$23,810 was recovered. Terms of the business were lawyer fees amounting to 10% of the recovered money. One month into the project, the lawyer indicated that a verification deposit was needed to be paid in order to withdraw money from my account. I partially funded the deposit.

Later, the holding company's customer service agent issued an ambiguous withdrawal plan to be followed in order for my complete balance to be withdrawn. A mistake was made in the withdrawal plan and the holding company customer service issued a $6,000 deposit requirement to repair the credit standing at the holding company. Deposits amounted to $10,285 which was contrary to the $2,310 total fee due from me to the lawyer. Furthermore, the customer service agent insists that a $6,000 payment (included in the $10,285 required deposits) needs to be paid before any withdrawals can be made.

I offered to take $6,000 off of the recovery money amount.

The lawyer, lawyer's IT specialist and the customer service agent of the holding have not responded to my proposal since 6/13/25. Today is 6/25/25.
The client is requesting a minimum of $1,860 to a maximum of $19,268 be released from the holding company's account and refunded to my home bank account.
