A very unhappy customer.
Basically I need to get a partial, implant, denture, or bridge for one tooth, and the health insurance refuses to cover it because I am older than the age of 21, and they just don't cover that type of stuff, yet they are willing to cover for extractions, root-canals, and full dentures, but they refuse to help me with one missing tooth. Dental Clinics expect me to pay them so much money to get this done, and I don't have the money to pay for it to be done. But if it doesn't get worked on soon, my teeth will shift, and I can't have that happen. I wish there was a way I could get this done for a small fee, or at least have a family member help me pay the *** bill, but no one is willing to help me. The customer service reps. refused to help me, and just said I should pay it out of pocket, but I don't have the money to get this done. They even gave me a painting companies phone number which is no help for this situation. Another customer service rep., said I am not allowed to file a complaint about this not being covered because, the state law chose to cover only a certain amount of benefits. I need this fixed, but I am also done dealing with Denti-Cal's ***. What should I do? I need help with this situation, and I really don't know what to do. So please help me. Also if you can't help me, is there anyway I can file a complaint against this company about this, or drop the dental insurance completely because, no one there can't even do their job correctly, and I don't have time to deal with this, but at the same time I need help with this dental emergency. I even browsed on the internet, and it turns out on several different websites, they say that a partial, implant, denture, or bridge is actually a dental emergency, even though I know Denti-Cal does cover for dental emergencies, they apparently don't consider this to be a dental emergency, and I don't understand why? So I am frustrated about not getting any help for all of this dental situation, and I need help or I will go crazy. Please help me soon, or at least tell me someone who can help me with this because, I honestly can't take it anymore. Thanks for listening to my problem, and reply soon with all the help you can give me, regarding this situation. Good-bye for now.

Thank you, everyone, for your input. I just wish I would have figured this out before all the damage.
I have needed this info for seven years now. I have wondered why mine and my son's teeth are falling to , overabundance of cavities, periodontal disease and mouth is always inflamed despite good food, and flossing and brushing twice a day. Also not one person told me about his severe underbite. I could have saved him from jaw surgery now he is fully grown, had I known that he needed braces for his severely misaligned jaw.
How do we inform newcomers of this problem? I called to file a complaint, now that treat me like "what do you expect its free". I tried something in my appt today, Immediately after my supposed cleaning, while I was still in their chair I asked them for a piece of floss. The floss still got caught up on all the calculus.
I told them it did not change. They then told me to leave because that was all the "chair time" they have for me.
She then proceeds to tell me they have no free dental baggie for me and did not do the fluoride. This was at American Indian Dental Health in Santa Barbara County.
Go to Emergency. Calif should pay for the ER hospital exam, & their happy for referral kickback $.
Pain is pain. Too bad our corrupt system of politics and money rule such rationed " healthcare" so real patient gets shrug, some injured, told can't sue. That's Real BS!!! Greedy State calif.
infested in attorneys, dentical frauds line--the script saying go away you've had all r going to get.no oversight sucks. UC system and medical schools do need to practice.
Go Ask for chance. Phenol in ambusol works on mouth spot pain, you can still go to work for now.
I am in the same boat. I 'm over 21, need partial denture and i'm on Denti-cal.
I can not afford $999.99 per partial denture (upper and lower).
My advice contact your Senators and state legislative. P.S Some people are making their own veneers and dentures, On Face book, there is a support group for people on SSI and/or SSDI posted Jan 2017
I suggest you try your nearest University that has a Dental School. Their services are much less expensive and you may even get lucky if a student needs a patient to perform implant surgery and get an implant for free.
In NYC, NYU Dental School offered to give my good friend FREE implants because of just the scenario I described. Students are very closely supervised so there is no need to worry about poor care like many other regular dentists .
Prices are less than half for dental procedures even if it costs money for the implant. Good luck !
It is unreal to me that denti cal and the dental schools dont have some kind of contract. It is so dumb that they dont have a contract in place to help the denti-cal and medical.
They fight like *** to not help they need to fire all of them and start a new program. Then they say the front teeth are cover. JESUS GOD JESUS you cannot chew with your front friggin blasted teeth it is so incompetent and retarded.
I really believe they are holding on to the money for themselves so they deny everything so they can benefit. They not helping its ***
hello! this is a state plan, its basically free.
stop complaining. you should be lucky you don't have to pay more out-of-pocket for basic dental services.
It's not free, and it doesn't matter if it's a state plan. All people should be treated with respect anyway.
This so called state plan have dentist who scam patients and the state for thousands of dollars, and have active lawsuits to prove it. The state only provides a litter of one star dentist racks with reviews of horror stories about how patients are treated, and how they break your teeth. In terms of free. Ha!
Get real. Most Dentists often market free cleanings to get patients in the door. They give you a cleaning and then ask you to pay thousands of dollars. Yes, with Denti-Cal.
So called denti-cal won't pay even if its affecting your health. There needs to be a better way.
Amen anonymous from Vacaville. In Northern California beware of Western Dental and Similecare.
They said they're not medically necessary and they blame patients for not taking care of their teeth. They allow all teeth to be extracted and full dentures to be fitted. Denti-cal covers dentures.
I am in a similar situation except worse. I went into a FILTHY denti-cal accepting office.
I was told that they could not fix the crown that just fell off or fill my cavity since I would also need a crown on that tooth. They refused to put a "pre-made" crown on which is supposed to be covered. Instead I was told that if I would I agreed to make a down payment and pay off the cost of my dental work in 18 months they would "fix me." Now I owe them over $3,300 dollars, and guess what? They won't finish the work unless I agree to also have two healthy teeth removed and have a partial denture put in.
They said my "*** is too deep." I don't understand since I had great dental insurance up until last year and no other dentist ever mentioned a deep ***. Now I am stuck with an appointment in four days to have two healthy teeth removed. I called to cancel, yet then rescheduled because they have me over a barrel. If I were you I would RUN and thank the gods that you got out of there before they ruin more of your teeth.
I am sorry about tooth shifting. That is an unfortunate problem, yet it is nothing compared to the other damage a denti-cal office can inflict.
