Shapiro dentistry will give you a bill after your first consultation. It is for work that they say you need.
It was a very large amount of money they tell you that they will not work on you until that is fully paid.
If you cannot afford it then they have you sign a form to take out a loan. The loan company then sends all the money to Shapiro dentistry.
If you have dental insurance they put in for that as well.
All the work that they do is not acceptable. I was told I was getting porcelain crowns and I received plastic. I was told I needed deep cleaning twice and was charged for it.
Nobody needs deep cleaning twice in one year.
My insurance company went after them to get back some of the money but they fought it. The insurance company gave me $1,700.
I never fully received my $1,500 for a partial I never received. Don't ever go there.
Preferred solution: Full refund

Dr Cunningham from Dental associates had the WORST bedside manner i've ever encountered!!!
On 2-2-15 i had my second appointment with Dr Cunningham. (I luckily made it threw my first appointment without encountering his issues.)
In Regards to my appointment, i Had to schedule in early November to get my February 2nd appointment! I thought that was kind of pathetic. When i arrived early for my appointment mind you, the place was PACKED and way behind schedule. I suggest allowing 2 plus hours for your appointment here because it takes half that time to be SEEN by a doctor. also, it was not at ALL a family friendly environment.
In regards to my dentist patient interaction, starting with the explanation of my options for treatment. POOR. Dr Cunningham gave me no other options besides one extreme calling for the extraction of all of my teeth. the amount of time the dentist spent with me was embarrassing. He did not show concern for my questions or worries and seemed very negative about my treatment plan. Of course, due to this, I was not as confident in Dr Cunningham. I'm someone who has not seen the dentist in many years. I expressed my anxiety, and Dr Cunningham had TERRIBLE bedside manor. He talked to his hygienist as if i wasn't there, he even SIGHED when i opened my mouth!!!!! I was OFFENDED from the get go, he had no personality, compassion, or empathy to my situation. He failed to explain anything, any other options, or even the treatment he was recommending which was full dentures. He made me feel very self conscious about my treatment and he used very discouraging statements like "It doesn't look good in there." which made me feel an INCH big- NEVER AGAIN!!
AS far as the dental TEAM, my hygienist was AWESOME. sweet, caring, friendly, and though not all the information i got from her about my estimate was accurate, (or even close,) she made every effort to make my visit worth it by breaking down treatment and cost to the best of her ability, and without help from the doctor. she was very personable unlike the dentist she assisted.
Now lets get to the bottom line: Payment and Pricing. Dental associates really seemed like a *** of a deal considering the only time i used them was emergency extractions of 3 teeth and it only costed me the $60 for the insurance they offer which covered that exam and procedure. I really thought i was getting a deal getting drilled on in some cubical by some at cost dentist, but got a 2nd opinion, with a more reasonable cost and treatment plan and an AMAZING dentist. The information on the cost of the treatment [from dental associates] was poor. My estimate was not only inaccurate but also very difficult to read. they gave me three pages of mumble jumble that not even THEY understood. I'm really glad these red flags game up before i decided on where to get my dental work done. Not only my issues with the dentist was the reason to discontinue the patient relationship, the difficult to read, wordy estimate, $2,843.60 MORE for the exact same treatment only better quality dentures, and more respect from an understanding dentist.
I am SO glad i decided to go for a second opinion before making the decision to go forward with treatment I now have a BEAUTIFUL smile, and yes, dentures, but i felt much more confident in my new dentists hands. I've heard Dr Cunningham say before "he doesn't have time for patients that are afraid of the dentist..." hopefully he lightens up because reality is it IS scary having 29 teeth extracted a the age of 28 years old, and i needed someone to understand that.

Dental care
I MADE AN APPT.ON 9 5 14 AT THE FRANKLIN OFFICE .THIS WAS AN DENTAL EMERGENCY. HUSBANDS TOOTH CRACKED AND HE WAS IN PAIN.
WE CARRY TRUE CARE SUPPLEMENTAL. A REP CARMEN STATED THIS WAS ACCEPTED AT DENTAL ***. WHEN HE ARRIVED FOR THE APPT. HE WAS TOLD HE COULD NOT USE TRUE CARE AT ALL AND COULD NOT THEN APPLY ON SITE FOR CAREPLUS GOLD BECAUSE WE CARRY TRUE CARE.
WHY DOES THAT PREVENT US FOR TAKING YOUR PLAN? MY HUSBAND NEVER WAS SEEN AS A RESULT MONEY MEANS MORE THAN DENTAL CARE. WE ARE MILW PUBLIC SCHOOLS EMPLOYEES RETIRED AND NEED TO CARRY OUR OWN CARE NOW . WE WERE CLIENTS FOR 35 YEARS AND NOW THAT THERE IS NOT TOTAL COVERAGE WE MUST DEAL WITH THIS TYPE OF SERVICE.
WE WILL CONVEY SERVICE TREATMENT TO MPS AND VERBALLY TO ALL WE CAN.
I WILL SEEK PRIVATE DENTAL CARE BEFORE I DEAL WITH THE A OFFICE LIKE YOURS. lindaslawinski@***.com
Be sure you check if Denitist Associates submits all claims -before you pay out of pocket.
I paid $225.60 to Dental Associates because they told me it was a non covered exspene.Three months later after contacting the Wi BBB. I received a refund of $150.00- they claim I owed $75.20 from a past bill I never received.
When I requested a itemized bill of coarse it took me 2 months to get what I requested 1 month prior Serenity Now.
My point is Dental Associates needs to do a much better job in checking for covered procedures why should a patient have to double check that we receive the proper credit owed. They also need to refund over payments in a timly manner. D.P.P.
