Dental Assisting Institute Ripped Me Offf
I enrolled in this school after meeting with the instructor. I paid the $2,450 tuition in full prior to starting my education.
I was treated terribly and often ignored by my educators during the entire 10 weeks. I was not offered any assistance . Near the end of the program I was informed by my Educators that unless I was a young buxom fair skinned blonde I would not be hired. I was told that most likely i would have to travel to Tampa to find a job because of my "ethnic looks".
Very interesting to note that most of the women that were not "ethnic" and paying by the week...were taken special care of. Many of them were given leads for jobs. How unproffesional and discouraging...after 10 long weeks of travelling over an hour each way, studying and an internship...I could not recieve any assistance from their office. I was told by a very well known Dental Office that 10 weeks is not enough and that I was ripped off!
I would have been better off going to a Community College and getting a serious education. Do not believe these people. They are only good for relicensing. They will deceive you just to get you to sign up!
Get your education from a College...they will rip you off. They only want your money.
Very prejudiced! Stay away!

While attending the Dental Assisting Institute of Pinellas County, Florida I was continually ignored by my instructors. I was not offered any extra help or assistance.
Unfortunately I had paid in full which was a very big mistake. Students that did not pay in full received extra attention. The instructor did not help but went on to attack me in front of an entire class. It was awful.
After that incident, the entire class was terrible to me. What a bad experience. To top it off...and here's the cherry on the sundae...I was informed by my instructors R. and A.
that if I was not a fair blonde with large ***...or at least in my 20s I would not get hired. This is the encouragement I recieved after spending all that money and putting in all that time. I never was able to get any assistance from the career office. Please, watch out for this place.
They are very, very unproffesional. This is not a school for the serious minded. If you really want to learn Dental Assisting...go to your local community college. You'll get a seriuos education by proffesional instructors.
Dental offices respect Students coming out of Community Colleges...not this place. This place is suited for people who are looking to get relicensed from another state. I never found a job dental assisting. Every office I went to told me I did not have enough experience and 10 weeks were not enough.
They took my money, mistreated me and basically told me that my ethnicity was a disadvantage...making me feel awful. They suggested I go looking for work in Tampa...Nice job ladies.
Shame on You. Really...SHAME ON YOU.

Having given us only unsubstantiated allegations, one cannot judge your complaint properly. I suggest you go to a community college and get the training.
These independent schools can be a rip off---as you may have found out.
However, alleging "unfair" treatment only makes YOU look bad. Having a chip on your shoulder will certainly not get you hired for anything.
I agree, one cannot judge properly or maybe they shouldn't judge at all. But I don't think she has a "chip" on her shoulder, she just expressing the unprofessionalism in the education environment and the absurd comments being made by so called "professional instructors" that was not necessary.
And if expressing unfair treatment and telling the TRUTH makes a person look bad, then so be it! People don't like to hear the truth, especially when they are convicted inside themselves, in their heart. Telling the truth doesn't gain you friends, you actually gain enemies, but so be it. Life happens to all of us.
So get the sty out of your own eye before you try to get it out of someone else eye. Having a chip is nothing to do with hiring, it is your character, it is your attitude, it is your professionalism, and most of all the ability to love them even when they mistreat you. And sometimes that's not even enough. Managers do go by looks, so let's just be honest.
No matter how qualified you are, what skills you possess, or how much training or degrees you have. They will hire what they see and Want, Period! So to the young lady, dust yourself off, pray for them, and try again at an Accredited College and do an interview on them and continue to critique their professionalism, cause I support you! What God has for you, its for you and no one on earth nor spiritual forces can ever take that away from you.
Keep your Joy! Don't feel bad or remain angry. Be slow to anger and be kind! Love them regardless.
You are destined for Greatness! Be blessed;-)-p.s. I was considering this program, but now I will not be enrolling.
I will share your concern and pass this info along to others. Thank you for your honesty!
