Dekalb Family Medicine at Stonecrest/DR. Chandra Britt Armstrong,MD

Today I had a very stressful experience with this doctor, she raised her voice and spoke to me as if I was a child. I came in because I needed a refill on some thyroid medicine, but I also needed to tell her some other things that were very important that was going on.

Like I have been having chest pain numbness in both my arms and hands & a burning under my feet. Well I never had the chance to talk about any of those things. She came in told me she had time to deal with the thyroid issue only. I would have to make another appointment to see her in a month to deal with any thing else.

When I tried to talk with her she raised her voice and said " I don't have time to deal with your laundry list of problems today" the she said just get on the table just get on the table I was wasted five minutes with you already.

I have Never been treated like this by any doctor. I will never go back to this doctor or her Spa At Stonecrest.

I have been a patient at Dekalb Family for over 5 years and this facility is no longer what it used to be. When I call the office and leave a message for a doctor or nurse, calls are never returned.

I have to call multiple times for prescription refills even though I follow the directions for refilling a prescription to a tee. Even though Doctor Armstrong is a good doctor, I can no longer continue to be a patient at this facility, it's become too messy.

In all fairness I wanted to share my experience which I was very unhappy with the service I received on that particular day. Overall I think Dr.Armstrong is a good doctor, but on that day she was under staffed and I think she was strssed out and unfortunately she took her frustration out on the patient/me.

I had been a patient of Dr.Armstrong for a while but after being disrespected in that mannor by my doctor I felt it was better for me to seek another doctor. I wish her nothing but the best God let everything happen for a reason. And if I had not left I would not be with the doctor I have now that I feel is a much better fit for me & my needs. So I am not saying don't go to this doctor, find a doctor you can talk with and express everything thats going on with you and that you feel comfortable with.

So everyone be Blessed and God bless Dr. Armstrong cause I have no hard feeling

Can you tell me how bio-identical hormones work, are they natural, can you take them if you havent had a period in more than 2-3 years, are there side-effects? Are there any health risks? Are they covered by insurance?

How do they help?

I had to wait quite a while for my appointment. I was very disappointed.

I arrived at 10am and was seen at 10:47am. They took me to the back, weighed me and then left me sitting in the hallway waiting for my blood to be drawn. At 11:45am I started seeing the staff LEAVING FOR LUNCH!!! I went to find the girl who had put me in the hallway and she was eating her lunch.

She asked me if someone had come to take my blood I told her no, but I told her I had to leave. And I will not be back. I have been a patient for 3 years and I can't take it anymore. The service at this doctors office is just like Dekalb County itself, low budget.

Dr. Armstrong at one point gave one on one service, now it appears as though she is overwhelmed and the office no longer values its patient's time.

I went to another doctor the following day, and was seen and serviced within an hour. I would not recommend this place to my family or friends.

I personally like Dr. Britt-Armstrong, but the wait time for the Candler office is awful.

Everyone's time is important, people work and have lives. I schedule my appt. well in advance and don't expect to have to wait 1-2 hours to be seen. I have on several occasions called about lab results and have not received them, and asked that the office manager call for a follow up complaint.

I am still waiting.

I was referred by a good friend and she suggested trying the Stone Crest office. I will give it a try, if no better results will simply go to another office.

I have been a patient of Dr. Britt-Armstrong for many years and have come to know her as a trusted medical professional, which you do not get anymore since the majority of doctors are not looking for your well-being but is looking to see how much money they can take from you.

I have NEVER heard nor have experience Dr. Armstrong talk to anyone (including myself) in that manner. Although, the initial post is old it is still upsetting to see negative comments about someone such as Dr. Armstrong be publicly posted.

I am not saying she is perfect, no one is but when I read that initial post I know that it did not give a description of the physician that I respect and trust for over 15 years. I live an hour away from her offices and will continue to see her even if I had to move out of the State. I do not ever think I will find another caring and passionate doctor like Dr. C Britt-Armstrong.

Matter of fact I have an appointment with her today and I can not wait to see her and her staff at StoneCrest, I'm just not ready for my annual physical..lol Continue to be a positive individual and a great physician.

Maybe that patient was hurting and was having a really bad day, we all experience that and I know as a patient of this doctor, I’ve come to her with a “laundry list” of concerns and each time they were handled in a professional and confidential manner. I pray that the initial comment I read from the individual who felt as if she was not treated as adult has had the opportunity to get the necessary treatment needed. I know its hard in these days and time to find someone you can trust; however, I am bless that I can continue to be a patient of Dr.

Britt-Armstrong.

I do not think this doctor and her staff realize not all illness request going to the emergency room. Some people are not manic ill people and do not require seeing a doctor more than one time in one year; however, the one time he/she needs to see a doctor, he/she is given an appointment weeks in the future for a illness going on now :sigh

I was on time for my appointment she had one person working the front and back office! I have no reason to lie, She may be a good doctor but you don't treat people that way!

I always give respect and expect to be given the same.

And I prefer to have a doctor that don't mind if I have a laundry list of issues. No doctor has a right to raise their voice at a patient.

I have been a patient of Dr. Britt Armstrong since 1995.

I have always recived the highest quality care. My daughters developed an excellent relationship with Dr. Britt and as they grew into ther teen years trusted and confided in her. Over this time my mother came to live with me after double knee replacement (and has several chronic health concerns).

My mother was examined and cared for in the office during her stay with me. She was very pleased with her care.

In response to this patient comment, She was late for her appointment - which I personally requested she be "worked in" for this appointment (the day before) because she called in for a refill on medication that requires monitoring every six months (it has been over a year since she has come in for a doctors visit). She mentioned other issues she wanted to talk about without specifically saying what they were.

I offered her another appointment to address these concerns within one week , but she refused and stated she "might" consider coming back in one month.

In sum, "Just because you make an appointment to address one issue, does not mean the physician can address the entire laundry list." These other concerns may have to be addressed over a series of appointments. Most physicians allow fifteen minutes for each visit and getting additional time will impact everyone subsequently scheduled for that day.
