They want personal information

I am uncomfortable with your company having one of my bank account numbers. I want it taken off and deleted. I would rather receive checks in the mail!

User's recommendation: Be careful.

Didn't send money. Won't return my phone.

They quote you a trade-in value up to twice as much as others to get your business AND bank acct information. Once they receive the item, "Inspect It" and promise your payment within 24 hrs. Then, email you saying the payment bounced. After "Resending It," still no money. They refuse to share the bank receipt confirmation, but instead ask for more acct information To Follow-up with the bank." NOT!!! When asked to return my phone, guess what.....they won't because "They sent the payment as requested." My bank verified on 2 separate requests that NO attempt was ever made to make a deposit to my acct.

User's recommendation: SELLERS BEWARE !!

Sold me a locked phone

Decluttr - Sold me a locked phone
Update by user May 02, 2020

Luckily I initially paid with PayPal. I opened up a case for the phone through PayPal to get my money refunded.

PayPal reviewed my evidence, the emails, photos and proof of my calls to Motorola and Google and made the decision in my favor. They took the money back from decluttr and refunded me. The *** thing is that decluttr lied up until the very end stating "they would provide me with a refund". However that never happened, it was taken by PayPal.

Avoid decluttr at all costs. After my incident with them I started finding various complaints from many different people. Seems like they're a scam the whole way around. Horror stories about people sending their items in to sell and decluttr mysteriously "loosing" it or damaging it.

Others like mine where a locked or damaged device was sold. I don't know how they're still in business.

On 03/20/20, I bought a "refurbished" Motorola G7 play. It arrived on 03/25/20. I tried setting it up but quickly discovered it had a Google security lock on it. I had never seen or heard of it before. Kept asking me to enter the original email that was associated with the phone. I called Motorola within 30 minutes of the phone delivery to see if they could tell me how to get the Google lock off. They could not because it's a security lock. They advised me to contact Google. I called Google and they could not help either. I was then advised to return the phone for refund or replacement. I emailed decluttr, they provided a return shipping label. Now today, 04/02/20 they are refusing to refund my money and accusing me of the Google security lock. It's not mine. I'm beyond livid. Hopefully this will be settled in the honest and fair way by them providing a full refund.

User's recommendation: Buyer beware, avoid them at all costs!
