In just 3 months I finally graduate from Demontfort University and finish my Digital Marketing Degree! I started it in 2013, mainly because when moving abroad you need a degree, which is just what I wanted to do, but I was still optimistic. Finally coming to the end, I am happy to say I will have my degree and be able to move abroad. But do I think it was worth the near to 50,000 pounds? YES, but for the wrong reasons. I have grown, enjoyed myself and started up my own company on the knowledge I have learnt from the past 7 years in online marketing from working for people, which now brings in close to $14,000 per month. From university I have made great friends and grown a bit and had a fantastic time, which if that is what you want, GO TO UNIVERSITY! But the fact is what are you paying for? $60,000 for? To become even more knowledgeable in your area of choice. Which sadly I feel I have not learnt much. Again, I must stress uni is amazing and Demontfort university will give you memories for life...but that's not really what you are paying for. Demontfort University: Tell me something interesting, something that will be cutting the mold, something practical.....NO ONE CARES WHAT EINSTEIN SAID IN 1940! You teach people to follow a system, reference and repeat what someone famous or who had a PHD said. Don't think for yourself, just read, repeat and get your grade and go. From self-teaching I have learnt SO much about online marketing and made a biz out of it. And Demontfort university has taught me how to Harvard reference, report writing and using some guys PHD model and talking about it. Life is about thinking for yourself and learning the practical side of life. Overall, it is not a problem with Demontfort University as they again are just following a set system and want to make money like any business. When you start everyone in business does the same models, they just make up different degree names to get people signed up! I do Digital Marketing, my friend Retail Management and another Business Studies....we ALL even in our final year do the same modules (7) minus 1 different one, it is a joke! I am at my last year of university and today we learnt how to start a blog on WordPress....I mean come on a 12 year old can do that! @DMU, again I know you are just doing your job, but really, apart from the amazing life and it helping you to get a job, as an entrepreneur you shouldn't bother with university, it just turns you into a slave of the system...but again the outside life is awesome! Everyone has an opinion, and that's mine. Demontfort University, a great place to party, socialise and meet fantastic people and make memories you will never forget...but for the thing you are paying for, not so much, just a waste of money. Not even the entrepreneur society will help, I went and again it is just theory, no "Hey guys let’s start a biz together"! Again, should you go to Demontfort University? YES! You will have SO MUCH FUN! Any university for that matter, but don't expect to come out at the end any smarter than you already are, just with great memories and experiences with new friends, not learning. Yes you will come out smarter, but will you use it, have you now got 50,000 pounds more brain power over the person that left after A-levels and has 3 years working in what you want to work in? I know which person I would choose, and it wouldn't be me. P.S. if you do go to DMU, make sure you do a placement, they are GREAT! However don't worry about putting in too much work on your portfolio as everyone gets the same mark to make the university look good lol! E.g. you do 78 pages and your mate does 21 and you get the same mark ;) Best of luck!
