Davis Body Shop - Service
I brought my car into "Davis auto body and rest repair" on May 18, 2022. I told the owner that I'm from out of town and I need the car back by June 3rd. The owner looked at the car and asked me to bring it back on Friday the 20th. That he would work on it all weekend . I gave him half of the bill as a deposit. I called him on the 25th, a week later and he said "I still have not gotten to it." That he was gonna "pull the car in right now and work it". I then went the shop on Friday the 27th and my car was still sitting in the parking lot. I asked him once again "when are you going to work on my car?" He says he's gonna pull it in tonight, strip the paint and prepare it. Well I came back Saturday at 12 PM. I walked into the shop and there was an older man working on a car. I asked him where Mr. Davis was. He called to him and Mr. Davis said hold on, I'm putting my clothes on. Mr. Davis proceeded to walk out of his office zipping up his shorts, while his girlfriend was sitting on the couch. I said to Mr. Davis, " I would like to take my car and I would like a refund". once again he says I'm gonna work on the car right now. I very politely said "I would like my car back and I would like a refund". He proceeded to yell profanities at me and throw the keys in my face. When asking for the refund he says he won't be able to go to the bank until next week. I paid by credit card. This place is a fraud.

I was referred here by a couple of people that I know so based on the positive things ive heard I decided to give them a shot. I had two fenders that needed to be installed that were aftermarket when I got there the guy who I think is the owner was very courteous and seemed knowledgeable about what he was doing. I explained the issue I had with 1 of the fenders and showed it to him, The initial quote was for $100 after he saw a few th9ings that may be an issue I was quoted the $120 to $130 price range which I was fine with. After they had my car all day he sends a text message saying the body lines aren't straight and that he would explain the issue to me when I got there. I was in traffic so I called my rider heard the whole conversation was sitting next to me to hear him change the price to $150 due to the issues they ran into. I explained that I only had the amount he quoted me and he catches an attitude over the phone saying he would take the fenders off and put the old ones back on. Once we arrived I inspected the car and saw a piece of metal facing straight down that was close enough to the tire that the slightest bump would slice it open. I asked him to fix it he bend the metal piece back out of the way which should have been done when the fender was put on. He said he worked on the car all day which is why the price was more, however, any shop when the price is different is supposed to call you to let you know and see if you are ok with the increase and if not the shop stops what they are doing and puts everything back together. He showed some of the things that the shop had issues with the install which I understand but when you do a half job and charge more there is an issue. He went on to say something else and I just wanted to end the conversation and told him "you went against your word you charged more than you said there is your money we are done here. He then said I have 30 seconds to get off his property and that he didn't care who I was and that he was prior law enforcement lol. For him to carry himself that way is very disrespectful to all law enforcement officials. Being a former military retiree I do not go against my oath or ethos. After a short exchange of words, he told me to get my junk and get off his property. I do not argue or get into physical confrontations unless the situation dictates and someone puts hands on me but this dude was a trip and it was just flatout funny honestly but anyway instead of stooping to his level as bad as I wanted to I will make my experience known on every platform. Once I got home I noticed there were some wires broken on my carbon fiber hood along with cracks I will post pictures that you can see of photos I took before going to the shop and after I left the shop. I have included photos of the work they did I take nothing personal but if he would have called before to explain I may have been able to understand and decide from there but for someone that not only owns the business but was prior law enforcement to act in the manner he did was unethical and disappointing. Material items can be replaced and fixed but not owning up to your responsibility and having integrity is the issue. I understand some things cannot be helped and I am pretty understanding and laid back if the communication is good and the issue is worked out but to be charged more after what the photos show proves that it was a ripoff
