Complaint:

Privacy: guy with laptop webcam in locker room, guys taking pictures in locker room, women cleaning in locker room, locker room door open with women in room, men standing by men at urinals, men with open towels in steam room.

Gym lacks privacy in locker room from electronic devices such as cell phones, and men are aggressive. But that's OK.

Watered down from the NY location, but it's ok to have a *** gym, but here professionals get down and dirty, so do the anxious closet guy going up the elevator and spouse is unaware.

Women clean locker room while men at urinals, in steam room, or showering, and pretend to only speak Spanish. Reportedly, members there don't mind!

WOMEN Employees IN THE Men's LOCKER ROOM, see PICS. They have female employees who clean locker room, mainly one older women, and supervisor who is younger, shock when you come out of shower or from steam room. told think of the older women as grandma. Younger women in locker rooms says: you can have towel on or off, whatever you're comfortable with. When they call, they're warning, because they still come in. Grab towel if you want.

Tread Mill: 5:30AM and guy 3 treadmills down with 2 Cell Phones, Even with my headphones and gym music, No PEACE. he, and others on cell phones don't care, and what about the reviews saying how empty and quiet the gym is? It;s the NOT so REFINED clientele.

Steam Room: Attracts guys who like to leave their towels OPEN for viewing....(and they're not attractive -fyi) Towels open for what??? They even bring in cell phones.and light up watches. They're not interested in the Steam.

Privacy: Men, young men taking pictures of themselves in mirror at the sinks in locker room, for what? they're wearing only a towel. or they're standing around the lockers. Or a guy shows up just as you change pants, out of blue, quiet, but not empty gym. or you're changing and a full dialogue conversation goes on with a guy just sitting there on cell phone.

Privacy: Big Fat NO

Cell Phone conversation going on while on Treadmill or at lockers changing: Yes.

And for all the complaints about collections: someone at the top should be thrown in jail. Please file formal complaints, especially with BBB and consult your attorney, or pay 150 and file small claims court. You never get your money back.

I was a member of DBG for one year from sept 2012 to sept 2013. When I signed up, it was at an open house event they were having.

I was unhappy with the gym as the dry sauna never worked once and it was like ghost town in there and they staff was changing weekly. I never asked to be released from my contract early even though I was unhappy. I was pleased when my time was up with them, then I kept being billed!!! I started a new job on oct 15, 13 and was out of town on and off for 90 days, so I emailed several times and called asked why I was still being charged, letting them know I completed my contract, I didn't use the gym in over six months and they told me I had to physically come in (only during certain hours of coarse) or I had to send a certified letter!

I have never heard of anyone having to go through so much trouble to stop payments from a contact that had already been completed. After 45 days of stess I finally came home for winter holiday break and I physically went in to tell them they were wrongfully charging me! I didn't ask for one penny back, just wanted them to stop robbing me monthly. The payments stopped and I did not receive one letter from them......

Then.....11 months later I got a collection notice!!!! They came up w a number (not sure where it came from) and sent me to collections when I payed my contract in full plus an extra 160.00!!!! I called the manager, he apologized and said it was being taken care of right away..... Four months later I pull my credit and I have an ongoing collection showing on my report, so now I get to spend more time talking to the staff that is clueless at DBG.

It is wrong to send someone to collections when they pay their bills on time and completed their contract!

I guess they are so desperate for money, they just keep billing whatever accounts they have on file. Do NOT give them your cc information!!!

David Barton Gym, headquartered in NYC, just opened a gym at the Gansevoort South hotel in Miami Beach, FL. They offered "charter memberships" before the gym opened so people could lock in a lower monthly fee for a year and skip registration fees.

I paid $90 with my credit card on 4/9/08. They gym would open in june of 08. I received from them a receipt via fax and a signed document saying that if I didn't like the gym for whatever reason after it opened, I could submit a cancellation within 10 days and would get a refund PROMPTLY. I never signed a membership with DBG.

The gym had no date to open any time soon after I paid. On 9/08/08 I emailed a request for cancellation and for my refund but did not get my refund. The gym opened until 10/13/08. I showed up and provided my written cancellation.

I was told I would get a refund by the 4th day.I didn't get my refund. I called to follow up and was told I would get it within 30 to 60 days. I got very upset because they've already had my money for 6 months. I was told they would look into it and speed up my request.It's been 15 days and I still have not received my refund.

They are simply playing me around. I call and email them every day. Only two people have been kind enough to follow up, or at least put up a front to make it appear like they are but the person that issues the refunds hasn't done it. My advice to anyone considering joining that fancy gym is don't do it.

They're thieves. They'll take you for a ride. The gym is gloomy and the valet parking is $5 for 2 hours. Originally they had said it would be for free.

Ha ha ha...another one of their lies!

There are plenty of other options to work out. Do not consider David Barton at all.
