Absolute freaking joke of a pathetic company

Darwin took over my lease from someone else. Ever since, I have had to input maintenance requests 4 and 5 times to get anything done.

I have to basically threaten to move and sue them for breach of contract half the time.

Now, they send a roofing company to replace the shingles at 7 am and don't even bother to inform me that it's something that is even potentially being done, let alone today. Run as fast as you can from this absolute fraud of a company!

Refrigerator issues

If I could give a -2000 for an issue, that wouldn't be enough! They're terrible when it comes to fixing things.

My granddaughter has lived in one of their properties for less than two years. During this time, she was left in the cold when the heater went out and was left in extreme heat when the A/C went out. The latest fiasco with this company started almost a month ago. Her refrigerator went out.

We have called more times than I can count, and it still hasn't been resolved. She had to throw away the contents. Today, a company came with a new refrigerator in the box and left it outside. They wouldn't install it and didn't take the old one with them.

This is completely irresponsible, and not once have they given her credit for not having a refrigerator, even though she has lost her own money because she had to dispose of all the spoiled contents. This is totally unacceptable! They wait for their rent money but don't take care of any maintenance at all!

I have totally had it with them and will be reporting them to the BBB. Don't rent from them, you will be sorry!

Angry and extremely sad

I have been living at my residents for 3 years and wanted to renew my lease but they wouldn't because they wanted to renovate. Now I have a short period of time to find a new place with my 2 young babies (ages 3 and 10 months) and they wouldn't even work with me.

Lease renewal

I tried to renew my lease, I pay my rent and take very good care of their property. I have 2 small kids under 4 years old and the other is 10 months and with the short amount of time they gave us to find another place, we might be homeless. I tried to talk to them but they didn't care.

Heat is not working

I am contacting you about 1710 Burton Drive, Winston Salem, NC. The heating is not working and their is three small children in the house during this cold and snowy days. Can you please have someone check on the heating unit and see if they can repair it.

Get me off the lease; I don't care about anyone's issues about living there with Andrew. That's his own problem.

Myself and the other four tenants don't live there and we want out. I don't appreciate that Andrew lives there under my name and has it rented out by other people who aren't me.

Awful company

Horrible customer service. Refusal to provide any additional help or information.

Expect to get legal help involved with these people because they are completely incompetent, useless, and evil.

Stay away from them. (Current resident, it's been months I've been complaining and begging for help with zero response.)

I moved out and I still haven’t had a property manager call me or reach out to me

I keep asking for a property manager to call me reach out to me and let me know something then I get a text message stating that I dont get a check until after 30 days after I moved out I just need to know whats going on. Did they do Walk-through or what?

Questions about accountability!!!

Darwin homes compliance coordinator (Skai S.) failed to understand or come up with a reasonable solution to resolve an ongoing issue with HOA. I sent her several proof that I was not the cause, but yet she insisted that I take care of the matter out of pocket or shell hired a vendor and charges will be placed on my ledger.

I sent her pictures time stamped and I sent her receipts where I was already paying a vendor to resolved these issues! Skai S.

continues to make me accountable one way or another! Its very stressful!

Complaint on maintenance service

I've been calling Darwin Homes for the last 3 days trying to resolve a problem I have. I do not have electricity in one bedroom where I have my computer (so I cannot use my computer).

My cable is not working because it is all connected to the computer that is not working due to the lack of electricity. My microwave is also not working because of the same problem. Probably a fuse in the fuse box is broken and I have not received any response for the last 3 days.

To make rent payments, they send multiple messages a week in advance. Horrible service.

Zero communication/ no accountability

One star is being generous. They have attempted to automate property management and leasing -EPIC FAIL!

Property managers don't respond, no direct way to contact anyone.

It took almost a month to get questions answered about a property I was interested in. Once I leased it and paid, I got a call two days before scheduled move-in date that the property was occupied by squatters. I picked another property had to chase down the property manager for two days to get the lease signed. We drove 14 hours to property arriving at 5am with a 20ft U-Haul - The key pad was disabled and I realized it was occupied when I looked in the window and saw sofas and pictures on the wall.

I called Darwin and the customer service agent could not get anyone on the phone to come out. I filed a police report and left. Darwin refunded my monies after trying to convince me to pick another property. Never!

The way Darwin "manages" property is beyond incompetent. Owners and potential tenants should beware.
