Management has their heads up their ***. " Welcome to dartcor where we hire for management positions without requiring experience or skill. Seriously who decides this who ever you are youre a absolute ***. I've had so called managers here who have no idea how to work a simple grill and others who sit on there fat *** all the time. Oh and your breakfast to celebrate employees of the month or whatever is a joke. We just want a paid day off or a small bonus. Not sit with more of you *** turds and fake smile the entire time while you spew some sort of *** appreciation speech. Anyways who ever running this *** show has to actually look at what there doing . Because you're hiring lazy inexperienced people and making things more difficult for everywhere else. Oh and get of your high horse and greet your *** employees. Come in here all stuck up looking like a *** *** and don't have decency to acknowledge anyone. That's pretty much it. You guys just really suck that's all.

I had worked for Dartcor for 3 years. The Pros were is that it gave me cashier, customer service, and culinary training. It also gave me employment for 3 years when my unemployment was about to run out. The cons were the abusive management. They constantly harassed me about their Dartcor standards and threatened to have me replaced. There were also no benefits. Also the first manager made severe cuts. He kept telling me not to come in for the day because he had to make cuts. Other managers threatened to replace me when I complained about their proposed cuts. I also did not like how one manager promoted the new cashier to assistance manager and wanted to cut my hours and pay. The food was good but the management was very abusive.

Dartcor Manager Review

Very bad mangers and non cooking fake chefs. This was a horrible company and I would not recommend no one. No rasies no insurance. Racist managers that have affairs with the casher and mistreat employees and work you like a slave.

Dartcor Experience

Management of this company is a joke - they couldn't care less about the wellbeing of employees. I started Dec 2014 and my third week there witnessed 3 employees being fired (day before Christmas Eve). I was shocked to learn that this is an ongoing thing - the owner is known for firing employees at the end of each year so he can hire new people for less money. Experience is fairly good, as all employees wear many different hats. However, training is basically you figuring it out on your own. Which is good to an extent - when management doesn't answer phone calls/emails or general questions from employees, using your own judgment is usually the wrong decision. The miscommunication in this company is absolutely absurd - the owner, vice presidents, human resource managers, etc are never on the same page, so completing tasks is always a gamble. Raises are unheard of, promises are never kept, and employees are constantly recycled. Only 3 personal and/or sick days until you've been at the company for 5 years. LOL. Other than the obvious, the people in the office are pleasant and mostly everyone gets along. Everyone's in the same boat because no one ever knows what's going on :)

As a former Dartcor employee, I can honestly say that leaving the company was the best decision I made. 1st, they wouldn't let me give 2 weeks to my previous employer when they hired me. When I said I'd like to give notice, I was asked, "do you even want this job?" They weren't even happy about me finishing off my last week at my previous employer, but bit the bullet, and "allowed" me to. Then I was told I'd be hired at $32,000, they started me at $28,000. When brought to their attention, I was told, "we never said we'd pay you that." They give their chef/managers an unreasonable budget to work with, and become bery aggravated when money needs to be spent. Their managers are expected to use EVERYTHING even if it's out of date. Hourly employees must wait 5 years to get a week vacation. There are NO raises, and the health care benefits offered are so expensive, and yet they still won't meet the demands of the average consumer. The company is a revolving door of new employees, because the pay isn't worth the work/stress/headaches. With the exception of 1 regional manager and a few account managers, the company isn't worth applying to. Sodexo, Aramark and Compass Group will give better pay rates, better benefits at a better cost and the standard 1 year for a week vacation

Positive Experience Review

Actually, I worked for Dartcor from 1999to 2002 when I moved to the West coast. I have never had such a positive and supportive experience. I was running their new facility at the Necca business location. I would work for them again if they moved to CA. ! Just do a good job!

Firing of Lan

Today one of the most dedicated and beloved cafeteria workers was fired from Dartcor in Blue Hill Plaza in Pearl River, NY. Her name is Lan and she is always there with a smile, is a very hard worker and knows all the building tenants by name. She is the reason why many of us use the food service facilities. She was fired today and she did not know why. At the very least, Dartcor owes her that explanation. Many tenants will no longer use Dartcor as this was handled quite poorly. We hope that Dartcor will reinstate this wonderful employee.

Lan was an extremely hard worker who went out of her way to help all. She was there everyday..never out except for vacation.

You have no idea what you are talking about. If you had half a brain you would make more $$ so you did not have to live in the slum of Jersey City.

"So you did not have to live"?? learn English 1st before you open your mouth or write something, it is scary to think you might have a position where your vocabulary might be needed.

It doesnt surprise me that a person of your intellect ( that means whats inside your brain) is writing something in defense of a worker that was inept,( that means she couldn't do her job). You fool.

Lan was awful at her job from what i saw from afar and she wasnt clean. Should have been there more and not taken time off.

Too much vacation from what i hear.

If you dont value your job yu get the boot. Good riddance I say :)

I have half a brain and I wasn't fired from a cafe job and I live great,very comfortable..It seems Lan should have done more you don't get fired for nothing. She was rude on numerous occasions and was sloppy looking:)

Lan liked to eat too much bran, she passed gas in front of the fan, she smelled it and went to the can and took a dump the size of a man..that is the story of Lan

I once walked by and Lan passed gas.It was awful! It smelled like fish and garbage.

And she didn't brush her teeth they looked little green tic-tacs.

And her haircut...it looked like someone chewed it off. And her breath smelled like she was eating cad turds.And she walked funny now that i think about it..that really bothered me:)

Dartcor treats employees unfairly & unethicly

Dartcor food service inc.(doing business also as OHM catering) located in Whippany, NJ in Morris county. Dartcor is a contract food service company with in local business' throughout Northern NJ & NY. The direct management staff is unprofessional and the most of the cooking staff is not certified by the state. All employees in charge of a food service establishment must be state certified as of 1/1/10. Insurance is not offered equally to all employees and the hourly employees do not receive vacation pay. Consumer Reports have several complaints as do the pearl River, NY Board of health.

I worked at Dartcor for six year and i can tell you from my own experience , employees get vacation time and also sick days wich is not mandatory from the labor department in NJ. , but yes they do . Regarding the certificate from the state , Chef managers has updates certification, salary increases depend in work performance .

Alot of the customers are my other children spoiled needy and never satisfied. they want everything for free and are very rude and act as if they dont interact with people in a social level to much.They expect everything and rarely say hello or thank you.Its what i expect on a daily basis i get more manners from children i deal with.Which is why i could care less what they think about me or my staff or the way i handle things. They need to get a life.

Maybe we will dig into the lives of our customers and alert the proper people of their wrongdoings im sure they have employee issues and other things.Stay out of our lives and get one of your own its a cafe if things down there are bothering you go somewhere else half of you are spoiled worse than children.

They also hire people who have serious mental issues who create unsafe work environments and when let go customers in the building develop a friendship with the staff when they should pay attention to their work. Customers should do more work than to get involved in whats going on the cafeteria it is a cafe not a reality show we don't care what you feel about our hiring and firing practices...
