I paid a $500 deposit to Kallie Schilling to get a spot on
August 16 2024 to get a tattoo done. I paid through Venmo
and never filled out her contract since that was linked to
payment method and I paid directly to her.
I then reached
out on August 5 2024 requesting to cancel my deposit and
figure out what my options were as my husband received a
projection notice for the military that we would be doing an
accompanied PCS. I reached out as this meant based on the
timeframe discussed that I would not be able to complete my
piece with Kallie and since we had not started and I reached
out before the timeframe, Kallie told me she normally starts
sketching I figured I would have some options. She then told
me know that my deposit was nonrefundable per our contract, I
then notified her that I had never received the contract nor
did I sign anything stating as such? I then asked to scale
down my tattoo to not lose my deposit that way she could
keep the money and I could at least get something- her
response was to notify me that she had gone ahead and canceled my appointment (also selling that slot to someone else) and was told that she would not allow me to scale down my tattoo as she wanted to do larger pieces and that that request would normally mean she voids and keeps the deposit.
I then told her that was never discussed and she offered to simply only allow me to do
the large piece full leg piece and to come visit from overseas as she would not be giving me my money back as she needed to be paid for "Emailing/Consult Call/Scheduling me and sketching the design.
I told her at this point she had failed to render services effectively and wanted my deposit back as she is not willing to do the work or give me my money back so now I am writing this review, filed with the Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission, Austin Police Department for Fraud, and will be filing in small claims court if my deposit is not returned in full.
Again I never signed the contract agreeing to make my deposit non-refundable, I was never notified that scaling down my tattoo was not an option and that it would void my deposit, I also reached out initally 10+ days to my appointment as Kallie stated she does not begin sketching until about 1 week to 24 hours prior to the appointment time, I also paid a double deposit at Kallies request since my tattoo was large as an act of good faith. Clearly there is a lack of respect and understanding for military families as well as a lack of customer service and acting i good faith from Kallie and Dark Amethyst that she is a co-owner of.
Preferred solution: Full refund
