Lousy fans
Spent thousands of dollars and most dont work properly or dont cool the space as promised. I do not recommend.
User's recommendation: Save money and just go to Home Depot or Lowes

Verified ReviewerYour return policy
Your policy does not allow for returns when the fan has been installed. Until it was installed, we found that it moved little if any air and was considerably noisy.I
- Return policy
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
User's recommendation: There is no ability to return if the fan doesn't function as expected
Don’t buy here
- - Spent over $1,000 on a fan believed to have a lifetime warranty.
- - The warranty has an $85 service fee.
- - The reviewer says to go to Home Depot.
Just moved down to Florida a year ago and wish I would have double checked the reviews before I purchased. Spent $1000 or more on a fan that was probably worth half that price because I was told it had a lifetime warranty.
Yes the fan does LOL but its an $85 fee for them to come out or youre welcome to remove the fan yourself bring it in and have them fix it and then put it back up yourself. Save yourself the headache and money, and go to Home Depot

Stuck me with a unreasonable loud noisy fan
- - The Sunrise fan is noisy; replacement didn’t fix it.
- - Electrician charged about $100; the noise persists and I'll buy another.
Bought a fan called sunrise. My installer brought it back because of the noise.
Got another one. The noise began with the second one. Called and was told to call their electrician who charged 65 dollars. He ended up charging closer to a hundred.
He changed the fan and the loud noise began again. Called dans fans and was told to call electrician again. Was told I had 6 weeks to get a hold of electrician so I wouldn’t be charged again. Electrician did not call back until after the 6 weeks had passed.
He told me to speak with the manager. It just was endless and frustrating. The end up is I still have the fan and will have to buy another one because it’s so noisy it gets louder than the tv. The company is aware this fan makes noise because they told me this.
It’s just not right. I’m worn down!
- Lots of inventory
- Costly

Worst customer service
- - Purchased two fans in May; installation delayed; the $300 fan ticked and a $30 fee charged; the $1000 fan dimmer failed after 60-day warranty.
I purchased two fans in the beginning of May, didn't get them installed until 2 and a half weeks later, which was o k with me. One month later the fan that cost 300.00 started to tic when I put it on medium.
I called the store and was told I would have to pay 30.00 for the installer to come to fix the problem. I told the store clerk that I was not responsible for the noise and it should be covered by the warranty. I was told she would get back to me which never happened. Two months later the fan that cost 1000.00 is not working right, the dimmer will not work.
Now the warrenty is over 60 days so it is no longer covered.
This is the Worst Company for Customer Service. Do not waste your money at Dans Fan City!!!!!!!!!

Dans Fan fails to stand behind their produce
- - Purchased two Raindancer fans for $825.
- - Appearance deteriorated after three years.
- - Store said wear is normal; no mention of anti-corrosion.
Three years ago I bought two Raindancer outdoor fans for $825. Recently the appearance started to deteriorate.
Upon contacting the store they said this type of wear is normal and asked if I had treated the fan with an anti corrosive. I went on to explain that at no time during the sale had they mentioned this was necessary. I felt after spending $825 I would at least get a few more years of pristine appearance than three. I contacted corporate and they told me there was a one year warranty on the exterior.
I researched the warranty and there is no mention of this and it goes on to say the Raindancer is built to last with extra coatings and special metal. (see pictures attached). I stated my case with corporate with back up pictures and they pushed the issue back to the local store I originally purchased. The manager then offered to sell me two replacement fans at a nominal discount.
I refused their insulting offer and took the fans down and had an industrial coat of paint applied. After being a loyal customer over many years I've decided to make any future fan purchases at other vendors.
DO NOT EXPECT DANS FAN TO STAND BEHIND THEIR CHEAP PRODUCT. THEIR ATTITUDE WAS THEY DIDN'T CARE ABOUT MY BUSINESS OR LOYALTY.
- Lack of commitment to stand behind their product

Don't but from Dan's!!!
- - Expensive DC fan with professional install; it doesn't work and I won't buy again.
- - Different fixes by service and manager; replacement parts failed.
VERY!! dissatisfied with Dan's Fans.
Purchased a relatively expensive DC fan and paid for professional installation. The product didn't work. Got different recommendations on how to fix the problem from customer service than from the store manager. They gave me replacement parts, they didn't work.
Now I'm out the price of two calls from the electrician and still don't have a functioning fan. Gave them the opportunity to make it right and they blew me off. Will NEVER buy from them again. Advise you avoid them as well.
Like the idea of a DC fan, but obviously they rushed to market with an untested or poorly tested product. If you're looking for a quality fan I advise you go to a lighting store for better quality and service for on;y a few dollars more.
Will never return
- - Fan failed after about two years.
- - It runs at random speeds and the lights don't work.
- - An electrician couldn't fix it; go to Home Depot instead.
I purchased a fan for several hundred dollars. Two years later the fan goes at whatever speed it decides and the lights no longer work.
I even had an electrician try to fix it by replacing all internal parts.
The electrician couldn't fix it either. Dont waste your hard earned money at this store, you are better off going to Home Depot.
Salesperson needs more training
- - Bought a ceiling fan from Dans Fans.
- - Rod size was wrong; job couldn’t finish.
- - Manager blamed us; extra cost for return.
Two days ago we purchased a ceiling fan from Dans Fans in Port Richey FL. We told the manager we were going to use our existing ceiling rod.
All went well or so it seemed. We contacted an electrician to install the fan and appointment was set for the next day. Electrician shows up, takes down old fan and tells us the rod size is wrong. He stated this fan takes a smaller rod size.
My husband told him he would be back in 10 minutes as 2 home improvement stores was around the corner. Husband returns only to say they don't carry this odd size, neither store. Electrician left without completing job. Husband had to go back to fan city and ask for a rod.
The manager got snippy with him and said, well you said you were using your rod! She implied it wasn't her fault we should have known. Really?? How would we as customers know this fan had odd size rod?
Anyway, if she was doing her job she should have mentioned the rod size and did our existing rod match. Extra money for electrician to come back out and finish install.
Just do your job and KNOW your product!! Keep customer happy during and most importantly after purchase.
Dans Fan City - Ceiling Fan Review
- - Promised care and free shipping were not honored; exchange was not simple.
- - Charged $60 for phone order and $60 to return; military discount not honored.
I have a complaint, I am very disappointed. We recently purchased a fan from here on our way home to New York.
We were told that if we needed to return the fan or had any problems or concerns we would be taken care of. Well that's a lie. You just wanted a sale, you didn't really care when we called to exchange the fan for a different model - it should've just been a simple exchange. Your website claims to offer free shipping however you are going to charge me $60 for placing an order over the phone and won't honor our military discount.
Your also charging me $60 to return the fan.
So much for taking care of us. I'll never give a good recommendation for this company.
Dan's Fan City/ Refuse to stand by their warranty
- - Bought an expensive ceiling fan in April 2015 to preserve the warranty.
- - I called and emailed about the issue; they do not service unless under warranty.
We bought an expensive ceiling fan from these people in April 2015. We were told it was the best thing since ever and guaranteed.
We had them install it to preserve the warranty. Well the fan has developed a problem. I called and e-mailed several times. Here is the quote from the actual e-mail I received dated 12.23.2015: "IT HAS BEEN EXPLAINED TO ME THAT DAN'S FAN CITY DOES NOT SERVICE OR REPAIR FANS UNLESS IT IS UNDER A WARRANTY CLAIM.
EVEN WITH A WARRANTY CLAIM WE DO NOT PERFORM HOUSE CALLS."
I was stunned, where exactly do they think they installed the fan?
At the bus station?! This is my 2015 favorite for the stupidest response this year.

Dans Fan City - Luna Ceiling Fan Review from Oakland Park, Florida
- - Bought 5 Luna fans 5 years ago; one hummed and stopped.
- - Five years later two fans hum and run slowly.
- - DFC parts failed; 8 weeks later two fans unrepaired.
Bought 5 of their Luna fans about 5 years ago shortly after the installation 1 started to hum so I stopped using it. Fast forward 5 years house on market.
Turned 5 on. The humming fan only runs slowly, another also now hums and runs slowly. Went to DFC bought parts no luck. With closing pending replaced the 2 and took 2 broken units in for service.
Approx 8 weeks later still no repaired fans. Keep getting excuses. Save your money buy Hunters if they break its garbage time.
If I get these 2 back might just throw them away. Their products just arent worth it.

Exactly right. I have the same complaint. Stay away from this store.
Hmmm.... looks like your fan is near salt water and you're not familiar with what that does to everything, even outdoor rated products?
Sell your home and buy something you can afford the upkeep on. No ceiling fan is covered outside cosmetically after 1 year. Trust me, it just does not exist even though they are outdoor rated to continue to run. I've had to replace 4 stainless steel grills in 10 years at my vacation property now.
I don't complain, it's just the cost of ownership. 3 years with a fan, and it still runs, just looks bad... your lucky.
Thanks for helping me know which fans I want when I replace mine the next time. I've repainted my Hunters every year or so because they get so bad, and the darn things have never put out enough airflow to make a difference!
