No weekly TV guide

AI Highlights
  • - On Saturdays the weekly TV guide was missing from Lidl newspapers and Sainsbury's Morden branch.
  • - The paper should not be sold if incomplete.

Hi, I've noticed that on Saturdays when you add a weekly TV guide, lidls don't usually add this to the newspaper out for sale, & the same thing happened in Sainsbury's this Saturday in the Morden branch. This paper should not be put out for sale if it isn't complete, as it's taking money from people that it shouldn't.

We only buy this paper for my son's grandmother, otherwise we really wouldn't bother.

She needs the weekly TV guide. Thank you

User's recommendation: Add the TV guide or don't allow it to be sold

Having seen the promo for the free gardening magazinezine in the daily mail on Saturday 22 2025,

AI Highlights
  • - Saturday Mail promoted a free gardening mag.
  • - Tesco said the Mail did not supply any.
  • - Independent newsagent said WHSmith was the likely place.

Purchased Saturday edition of Mail which promoted free gardening magazine but was told by a Tesco employee that the mail didn't supply any. Went to an independent news agent who also informed me that they were not dappled with the free gardening magazine.

He informed me likely only place to get one was WHSmith. I think the tv ads and newspaper promotions should make it clear that the magazine would only be available from selected newsagents and published the newsagents that would be supplied .

User's recommendation: Check before buying

Disappointment!

AI Highlights
  • - Longtime reader since 1995, a 79-year-old expat.
  • - Prices rise to $1.99/mo then $9.99/mo; I will stop reading.
  • - Thanks for the updates; reduced fee for low income?
Updated by user Mar 13, 2025

Apparently, after over 25 years plus of reading their actual printed newspaper in London and the reading their newspaper online for the last 30 years in Florida - at the age of 79 on a very limited income - they insist on me paying for the privilege of reading their newspaper.Further, they have failed miserably to respond to my telephone calls and emails - perhaps they no longer know how to read and write without the assistance of AI?

Original review Feb 25, 2025

I have been reading your wonderful newspaper - since 1995. I am a 79 year old ex pat living in the USA - and alas because you have decided to charge $1.99per month initially - then $9.99 monthly thereafter- after all this time I will no longer have the enjoyment and pleasure of continuing to read your Newspaper. I am on a fixed income - I never thought I would have to budget for one of my last pleasures in life.

I wish you well - thank you for allowing me to keep abreast of some of the world's events.

Have you considered a reduced annual fee for low income people?

Pros:
  • Some very good information
Cons:
  • Unable to pay for it

Preferred solution: The ability to continue to read The Daily Mail every day please - at no charge

I need to speak to someone at the Daily Mail. The number 0201938**** is not available!

It is regarding Derbyshire Social Services and Derbyshire Police - there are two small children involved!!

Paid the £1 requested on my card. It is NOT a technical issue; it is regarding the children's welfare
