Declined my return, accused me of abuse and use of wig

AI Highlights
  • Returned Girl Mono within 30 days after 3 tries; asked for store credit.
  • Company claims damage and odor; user denies email proof and is out $248.

I returned a wig Girl Mono to Cysterwig. I tried the wig on 3 times, for about 5 minutes each, I used a head cover during each try on.

I really did not like the way the front flopped and therefore returned it within the 30 day return period and requested a store credit. Please note I purchased this wig partially with a store credit from the company. To my surprise, Cysterwig returned the wig to me and when I inquired about this, was told I had been sent an email stating that I returned Girl Mono damaged, disheveled and with a strong worn/human odor. I deny this unequivocally.

Let me say clearly that I NEVER received an email from this company and to date they have not shown proof of sending me this communication. I never wore or altered or damaged this wig. I placed it back in the box and returned it in the condition I received it in. I complained to the BBB, and Cysterwig responded that I "held" on to the wig for a long time, that I had committed "wardrobe fraud", that I used the wig for parties "over the holidays and then returned it" something they reported experiencing during previous years from their customer base.

So, I was wearing this wig to holiday parties in NY State during a Pandemic, huh? Me an RN who works full-time, and cares for family? I am just so angry. I did nothing but try the wig on, put it back in the box with tags and returned it when I got around to remembering to do so (but prior to 30 days).

They sent me a link to watch a video recording of the examination of Girl Mono; when I attempted to open it a "malicious website and open at my risk" notice popped on the screen so I did not go any further, however I have requested they provide a safe way for me to view this video. Meanwhile, I am stuck with a wig I do not want and out a total of $248 dollars and shipping, taxes.

Really. I am so disgusted with their accusations and outright lies.

Loss:
$248

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: I would tell you not to purchase from them. I have purchased a total of 5 wigs from them, this was a second return. I'd say they are shady.
