Satisfied with the software

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased cyberDefender antivirus on my friends recommendation. At first, I didnt notice any significant difference and I thought my computer only got worse.

But that wasnt the case. I can now run heavy games on my computer without it freezing.

The speed has improved greatly. I will definitely keep the subscription running.

They took my money

I asked for a refund in the amount of $49.98 from Cyberdefender on October 4. I never received the refund.

I contacted Cyberdefender on November 5, after I checked with my bank to see if a refund was received. The company put me on hold for 2 minutes and then the customer service rep said they refunded my money and I would have to take it up with my bank. However, they wouldn't tell me when they refunded my money and kept saying I had to take it up with my bank.

Even when I was online with access to my account, they told me the same thing. Every penny matters to me and I'm taking this grievance to the next level.

Thank you very much for your help Mr. Truth.

I will contact my bank and also follow up with filing claim against ustechsupport right away. :)

By the way, you can just call your bank and have them dispute the charges by doing a chargeback. This is the worst thing you can do to them. You get your money back and they get a fine if they exceed too many chargebacks.

Hi, you need to know that cyberdefender does not exist any more. The company you are dealing with is a guthy-renker company called ustechsupport.

Funny name considering they have people in india. You should refile the complaint under guthy-renker or ustechsupport so the right people see it.

Couldnt fix PC. Paid 300+and wanted more

Signed on with them in March & paid over 300 dallars for three years. Was told they would keep it running with no problem and if I did have one to call them.

After 5 try's a lady told me they couldnt fix the problem. She said she was sorry and was leading up to trying to sell me another package. I got fed up & just hung up. I was honest with them about everything and the 4 techs that ran scans never said that it couldnt be fixed.

It just wasnt. I hope that anyone thinking about useing Cyber Defender will stay with a local company. I must say this. I'm tired of these companys that think they can do as they please.

They will tell you anything you want to hear to get your money and apparently knowing they cant deliever. Yes it *** me off!!!

People in this country go to college and spend thousands of dollars and years of their lives to gain the skills to fix your computer problems.

You went the cheap way and instead of hiring a real technician - in person - to repair your computer, you bought some cheap program/service.

You got exactly what you paid for.

Have you seen the commercials on TV? I did and thought this company could help me.

WRONG! I was told by them that I have a potential HACKER on my computer and for $309.96 they could stop him before damage was done. About an hour later they said it was repaired. WRONG again!

My computer STILL kept freezing, staying on the timer, receiving error messages and items in my FAVORITES list kept disappearing. I contacted them again. I was kept in a runaround state with Customer Service Reps from 6 PM until 1 AM. They would not let me speak to technicians.

They would not let me speak to a supervisor. They flat out lied to me.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! I have filed a complaint with the Los Angeles BBB.

Most people do NOT need to spend money at places like cyberdefender in order to clean up a computer they messed up by careening around the internet picking up viruses, malware, etc.

With a little patience, you can probably clean your computer of this junk by using the following:

malwarebytes.

Superantispyware

adaware

spybot

Do a search on these names and then download the programs on their sites. They are all free and are individual programs which you can run one at a time and have them clean your computer of malware. They all do a good job, but my favourite is malwarebytes. I just recently got some malware on one of my machines and the only program that would clean it was malwarebytes. It is a powerful program and free. You may want to run it in safe mode if your machine is really messed up.

Your problem is not enough informative to conclude cyberdefender as

"DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! I". Please some supportive information to support your statement.

You can also do a chargeback or reversal of your charges by asking for one with your bank or card company. I believe you can do this up to a year of the purchase but check with your bank.

Cyber Defender by far the worst antivirus software

I purchase cyberDefender after hearing a recommendations from Leo the Tech-Guy from a popular radio station. My toughts and hopes where to improve my computer's performance and after installing CyberDefender my computer only got worst. After speaking to a few computer technitians. (Bob Hatton from Marcomm Media and Joseph Advento from JBA Networks in San Diego, California) they both told me that CyberDefender, far from being a software that will improve my computer its a virus and spyware from CyberDefender and design to steal your personal data in order for this bloodsuckers to make contact with you and persuade you to use more of their services.

My advise to all of you! Stay away from CyberDefender. Its spyware. They will not refund your money. Its a total fraud.

I just find it funny how many people complain about the software and about how they were "tricked" into buying the software. Word of advice, shred up you Credit Cards, because you guys don't know how to use them. Its your ignorance at best.

I too purchased this program and it was a virus....I called my bank, Bank of America, to have the transaction investigated and the bank researched this for me. They credited my account instantly with the money back and then researched the transaction.

A few weeks letter I got a letter from the bank that stated I would be able to keep the money as the investigation came back as fraudulent.

YAY!! GO BANK OF AMERICA.

I didn't have to hear endorsement from a radio jock to be convinced to buy cyber defender but I did however trust a scan. It was false positive for malware that eventually I removed with free malware remover...unfortunatley after I paid $140 to have one of their "expert techs" fix the issue that only made my computer work even slower. STAY AWAY FROM CYBER DEFENDER IT"S A SCAM...

So you believed a radio DJ comercial about a piece of software than he most likely has trouble spelling and you trusted it?

Just so you know I have pacific beach front property in Kansas to sell you.

Right on the beach. On clear days you can see Japan from your bedroom! Real cheap too! $22000 downa nd $1200 a month till you die.

See cheap and easy! Get it fast cause I got a guy that thinks geek squad hates them interested.

CyberDefender Antivirus Free isn't free and impossible to uninstall

I downloaded cyberdefender from a freeware site (yea- I know, you get what you pay for). I ran it and it found LOTS of problems that Windows LiveCare didn't.

HOWEVER, this freeware only identifies "problems". You have to register and pay to remove these mysterious problems. Here's where it gets fun. If you decline to pay, it becomes a "virus warning" popup.

I tried to uninstall but it didn't work. But boy that popup sure was working! Itried to remove it in control panel add/remove programs and THAT wouldn't work. Finally I went into program files and removed all files and folders that it would let me remove.

I was able to disable the program so that it's not *** me off every 30 seconds, but it took an hour of diligent folder searching, etc. to get rid of it.

It seems to me that CyberDefender antivirus is just plain vindictive when you decline to buy the software.

I downloaded the free version. I compared it against other full Spyware software full versions that I have on my computer.

Although my computer works fast and appears to be working properly, the CyberDefender showed that my computer has(d) 38+/- parasites. I decided to go ahead and purchase the full version to get rid of the parasites that it detected. The CD site advertised a price of $29.99 for it. I started to download it, when it was a the end of the download, 99% the download stalled.

It remained at 99% for several minutes. I contacted CD and explained to the staff what the problem was. The staff person said to me that I was going to have to pay an extra $99.00+/- to have them go thriugh my computer through remote access to remove the parasite that might be impeding for the download to be complete. In other words ...

CyberDefender is proposing to charge me an additional $99.99+/- so that I can finish downloading a software that I purchased in good faith. In my opinion, they are being bulleys as well as UNETHICAL.
