Horrible books!

I went through this company for my very first compilation book. I used indiegogo to fund my endeavor.

I went through them because I was told they were a good company. I was wrong. Firstly, my files say in the email for a good week and a half. I was told they didn't know they were there even though I notified them.

So after that, we had issues with the files and trying to get everything done in time.

When I got my books, I was appalled. The books had white spots all over and the spines were water damaged. The box was busted, so they blamed it on ups, but the truth of the matter was, the books were not properly packaged.

No shrink wrap, no protection, nothing. I called them and fussed about my books. They told me I had to send the books back at my cost. I told them this was unfair, but I was told I was making out like a bad it.

How is that true when they needed to make the books right. So I sent the books back with a promise of reimbursement. That was back in febrauary. I got new books printed but they still have white spots and most people are now saying their books are falling apart.

I still have not received a reimbursement. I have addressed this with the webcomic community and they all know about this incident.

I will never use them again and I really want to take legal action against them because I have been ripped off. Do not deal with this company!!

This is Cross Blue.

The problem with this job was with the books being damaged by UPS in the shipping.

During that time there were "severe weather conditions" that delayed the delivery on UPS's end. When the books were delivered, they were damaged by water. We took pictures and proved to the customer that our books were in good condition when we shipped them out.

Cross blue bulk packed the books and did not shrink wrap them.

Bulk packing is industry standard; the customer never requested the books to be shrink wrapped or packaged in any special way. I apologize but we cannot predict such acts of God.

Cross Blue also reprinted the job prior to receiving compensation. Cross Blue reprinted the customer's books at a loss and did not seek compensation from the customer to make up the difference in print cost vs compensation from UPS.

The only additional fees the customer paid was for shipping.

I also believe the books we send out the second time were in good condition when we sent them out.

I feel bad the customer had a bad experience with us, but I feel Cross Blue rose to the task and helped the customer to the best of our ability beyond what we were required of us from the agreement.

My books are green! Horrible quality!

Ordered 1000 books and was sent a digital proof that looked good. However, what ended up being printed was HORRIBLE.

The yellows looked greed. My photobook ended up a complete disaster. I have yet to receive an answer why this happened. I was never informed as to why the proof looked to different.

The quality control and customer education are among the poorest I have literally ever seen.

By the time this is over I will end up spending thousands more dollars to fix a problem that should have never happened in the first place. I was scammed by this company, big time.

Response from Cross Blue.

We have sent customer a proof of their calendar.

This book was a proof of the calendar with the only difference of the binding being a saddle stitched binding instead of the later decided spiral bound. Since the materials were all proofed prior to production, customer should have no reason for complaints about the materials used as he has approved of them via the proof. If customer has reason to believe the materials were switched, customer needs to provide proof to us; this is part of the reason for making a proof.

Customer gave no indication to us to make the hole punch at 0.25 inch instead of at 0.5 inch prior to manufacturing. We are a custom manufacturer, we can make the hole punch anywhere.

We first tried to resolve this project with the customer, but customer without warning, tried to do a charge-back on his credit card payment.

We then entered a dispute claim with the credit card company and each side presented their evidence. The credit card company sided with Cross Blue.

Over a year later and this company has responded...my project was a book, not a calender. There was no punch involved. Crossblue disappoints...again.

Inferior quality book printing

Cross Blue Printing - Inferior quality book printing
Cross Blue Printing - Inferior quality book printing - Image 2

HIS Publishing is a small children's book publisher. Recently reordered books from Crossblue Printing in CA but printed in China.

Initial review of the production quality didn't reveal any problems.

But within a few weeks as I went through add'l books, there were thread holes showing in the page gutter, scratches on the covers and splits in the paper near the gutter. When I contacted Crossblue, I was told that I had only had 5 working days to review the shipment and identify a problem, therefore, the company would not make the order right and I had to eat about 60 percent of the shipment.

If one goes for the book printing then he should always opt for the quality book printing. If the quality is going to be superior then only your book print is going to grab attention.

We've provided $500 discount (12%) + Free 500 additional dust jacket upon Hispublishing approval as a fair compensation. This was done in a timely manner.

Further, we've provided additional discounts on the next job. I regret the customer is still not happy after all this.

Dear Hispublishing, we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. As market standards, we provide 5 business days for the customer to discover any defects from the books. Since these are hand made customized products, you have to expect a low percentage of defects, this is also industry standards.
