Reviewing Croach from Charlotte, NC. This company is a complete scam.
I agreed to the 6-month contract that later became a 1 year contract without my consent. They came out and sprayed the home using some off brand product and never came back out. They continued to charge my account $50 dollars per month and force me to pay $200 to cancel on top of the additional $50 per month.
Customer service was not helpful, and the account manager failed to be honored broken promises made by the door-to-door salesman. Fraud company stay around buy your own pest control from Lowes and don't deal with the stress.

I wanted to leave a positive review. A new worker by the name of Peter came today and was extremely thorough, pleasant and spent a lot of time making sure the job was done correctly.
I was really impressed with him.

Lies upon lies
Had a Croach route manager by the name of Justin Crosby come to my home and offer their services as an $80 every two months with the initial service being only $40. He set me up with an appointment for 12/15.
I get a call on 12/13, “hey our tech is at your home, no one is answering”...
I log into my bank account and what do I see a $79 charge from Croach! Not the $40 initial charge that was told to me.
So I call up their customer service# and talk to a “Janet” whom tells me she can’t do anything it’ll be about a week before an account manager will call me to correct their error and CANCEL my service. I do not wish to business with a company whom lies, and cannot properly set up an appointment.

Verified Reviewer | Kirkland, WashingtonCroach Pest Control - High pressure sales followed by extortion.
A Croach representative came to my home and offered an introductory service offer of 50 dollars to spray around the house the house for bugs and knock any bees nests off from under the eaves. While discussing the service details I asked multiple times, whether there was a service agreement, or any other charges I need to be aware of.
I was told repeatedly, that there was not. It is an introductory offer to build market awareness. As this seemed reasonable, I said ok, and attempted to pay in cash, which he would not accept. This should have tipped me off, but I agreed to pay with a credit card anyway.
In order to process the payment the representative used an ipad, which I initialed to authorize payment. A few days later a kid showed up and swept the eaves and sprayed. Not really worth 50 dollars, but oh well. Or so I thought.
Two weeks after the service I started receiving phone calls to schedule my next appointment. I informed them that I did not wish to receive any further services, and did not wish to receive any further calls. A week later I received a voicemail informing me that my cancellation request was successful, however there was a cancellation fee and I would be receiving a bill for 200 dollars. On my third attempt to contact the "account specialist" that left me the message, I was informed that I would be receiving a bill for the remainder of my service agreement to which I replied that I was told when I asked, flat out, if there was a service agreement, that there was not.
Two additional weeks later, I receive a cancellation letter, invoice, and copy of a service agreement. In the cancellation letter the sentence "If this is not resolved in 10 business days, there will be collection proceedings" is highlighted. Upon reading this letter I called the number provided and attempted, one last time to rectify the situation with the "account specialist" I was informed that they are willing to call it "miscommunication" and let it go, if I were willing to pay 75 dollars, one time offer, today. To which I declined. This is an obvious attempt to extort customers, using the threat of collections to peddle sub par services and deceive people into signing a document that is misrepresented in the sales pitch.
The bottom line is that if there was a service agreement attached to the electronic document, the representative who came to my home swiped past it, the electronic document on the ipad was not the same as the document I received in the mail, and the salesman flat out lied to both myself and my wife when asked a straightforward question about the service, multiple times.
At this point I fully anticipate getting a collections notice, and intend to dispute it. Looking at the BBB and Yelp, websites, I am not the first to have this issue.
- Being lied to and threatened with collections
Preferred solution: Retract the threat of collections.
